802 CELEBRATES THE MADNESS OF 1986
802 goes back to the future on their unashamedly catchy new single. ‘1986’ is out ahead of Summer ’24 that welcomes the alternative Danish hybrid to the big stages this summer 2024.
1986 was a year of wonder and madness! From the awe of Magic Johnson, Top Gun, high kicks sneakers and the release of ‘Master of Puppets’ to the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl, the tragedy of the Challenger explosion and the vicious assassination of the Swedish prime minister while The Cold War was a constant threat to World peace.
It was a time of endless possibilities yet a fear of an unimaginable chaos that reminisces today - and on the new single by 802!
In his former life, Andreas Asingh aka Slowolf was one of the most critically acclaimed electronic artists in Denmark, working with international artists like Raekwon of The Wu-Tang Clan while touring the world. Eventually, life took Asingh back to his roots in the countryside of Mols Bjerge, Denmark.
In late 2022, Asingh meets Emil Sørensen and Kristian Holbæk. The two young dudes from the loud underground metal scene were not the obvious creative match with Asingh, however, a strong musical connection came to life as an alternative hybrid.
802 is a fuzz-metallic wall of sound! They make classic heavy metal collide with hazy shoegaze on top of ghostly synth pop and unashamedly catchy melodies. Musical anarchy rules in the World of 802 - a place for headbangers and pop lovers to unite!
‘1986’ is the 3rd release by 802 following last years’ ‘My Girl’ and ’22 (Velvet Vampire)’ which were both internationally renowned by award-winning horror short films.
802 played their first ever gig at the New Colossus Festival in NYC. This Summer, the release of ‘1986’ will be followed by shows at the Nordic metal festival, COPENHELL, and at the legendary Roskilde Festival!
