Love this! This is what soccer van living looked like in my world, and I loved it! I didn't have solar or appliances, so I had more room, but very simple. ❤
@getlostmike I agree! I miss my Caravan! I have a Honda Pilot now, and it really has less room inside. My wonderful daughter gave it to me, though, so I am not complaining!
06:58 I like how this person put the maximum # of solar panels possible on that minivan. Thanks for the close up.That is my plan as a future minivan lifer. It is incredible how creative people can be when they get into unfortunate circumstances. I am sure if we didn't have the high skyrocketing rental prices & taxes (all by design by the ruling class who own governments & corporations), people would not have gone this route, even by choice. There are many vanlifers who chose this without being homeless, as I am also trying to do. But one thing they have in common is that they are all fed up with the system.
@@getlostmike yeah that is what I met. Please do more of this whenever possible, whenever they have this kind of Expo at Quartzite. Thanks for sharing. I am Subscribed.
Thanks for the video. I’m in a minivan and looking at the rigs have validated my setup. Plus I thought I had too much stuff but I have half as much stuff as most of the people in the video. That’s comforting to know also.
Did the minivan camping thing with my wife years ago. It's ok for a couple weeks but I can't imagine living in one full time. Even though we upgraded to a 2017 Roadtrek 190 which we love, it would drive us crazy to live in it full time. Good luck!
My Hubby and I live and travel out of our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. We've been on the road going into our 4th year. We would have been there but we're stuck in La Posa South hoping to find a mobile mechanic who can come take a look at our van. We started our Journey from Arkansas and love the freedom. Yes two adult people can live in a minivan, yep it can be done!!
Im slowly converting my ford Freestar, next van HAS to have the split back seat instead of a bench seat. thanks to the bench seat my beds going to have to be partially where my passenger seat would be as I want to keep the bench seat for sitting.
I had to leave Quartzite about 10 days ago which was a shame since I missed the RTR. I live in a minivan, and from what I see, mine is unique to most, if not all. I have 200w of rooftop solar and a full length Thule. I also recently installed a diesel heater which you don't often see in a minivan.
@getlostmike this spring I'll be in northern Georgia helping hikers that are starting the Appalachian Trail. After that I hope to spend the summer in northern California. Chances are I'll be back in Quartzite in November for the winter.
Good place to get some great ideas. It's easier down in the states to live full time year round then in Canada, but if I had to pay $2,000.000 + per month rent, I would do it!!👍👌🚙💨
@@getlostmike@getlostmike I realize your video is from Sunday's Minivan Open House; I showed my SUV, a white 4Runner, on Monday and was curious if you recorded a video on that Open House event as well. Again, thanks for sharing, as these content productions take effort and where and how I got so many ideas for my build.
@jatorresrv I arrived on Monday and had entered my rig for the open house that day. I couldn't get away long enough to cover that open house, unfortunately. I was meaning to check out your rig.
Thank you, Mike! I was hoping to be there but haven’t made it yet…which vehicle do you think is best for nomad-ing? A lot of Dodge Caravans and other minis, what did you think of those versus other options…?
I'm not brand loyal, but I did like that Caravan with the gap for his legs in the floorboard towards the beginning of the video. I like the height of the Chevy Astro for head room when sitting and its width for more space. I would, personally, lean more towards the AstroVans but Caravas have a bit more fuel economy.
I have a Dodge Grand Caravan. I tucked the seats under and have boards and flooring material, so it's a nice "big" space. It turned out to be the perfect vehicle for one person.
🤔 Why do people have so much stuff in a small space like that? Next year, I will show my minivan build that has all that I need and still carry 4 people with a couple of flips.
I must be in the minority, but I couldn't do this without some sort of indoor "bathroom." I have a humble set up in my Santa fe for weekend camping. I have a toilet and shower. I need my privacy.
Definitely cool to see other people's set ups! I appreciate the vid!
Thank you for watching!
Great to see all the creativity.
I would recommend a minivan just for the gas savings and stealth factor.

It is amazing how much space they can fit into a mini van!

Thank you. Blessings to you.
You're welcome! 😊
Most of these rigs would drive me insane. The clutter is amazing.
I have watched many who live out of their mini vans and have more open floor plans.
My thoughts we're similar bit it was refreshing to see a more RAW presentation.
I was thinking that too.
People are so creative❤

Absolutely. There would still be the traveling, seeing the country, types but definitely not as many 'having to' or 'forced into' this lifestyle.

I could do this. This is what I want to do when I retire. I’m tired of paying rent especially since rent is going up and up and up.
Some of these rigs are basically set up as legitimate homes.

It's good to know there's always room for more! 😂

I hear ya! I can't imagine two people living in one. One would probably be fine.
Thanks for the tour video. So many great ideas.
That's what it's all about. 😎

What is with the low turn out this year to Quartzsite?
Vans! I was told there was a heck a lot more vans this year. I missed that open house, unfortunately.
Good job covering the open house Mike.. enjoyed our chat today!
It was fun talking to you today!
I hope I can make it out next year

I love how creative people get with their spaces. I missed out on seeing all these so I appreciate you showing them!
All this and not one Honda Element. Just you wait until next year, I'll be there. Thanks for the tour.
I'm not sure why there was not one there. Maybe tomorrow.
Very interesting.....picked up a few great ideas, Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
I can't walk around anymore but showing off the set-ups is a great idea. So many white ones. (Well, so is mine lol)
The cheapest color for car manufacturers.
@@getlostmike I thought it was because it was cooler for S CA

Heading there for the RV show next week - were there any SUV conversions? Suburbans/Yukons, Excursions, etc?
There were quite a few, but I, too, was also in that open house and couldn't get away to do a video of it.
@ Aha! I just saw you on Linda’s channel. Nice setup! Just arrived in Quartzsite today.
Thanks so much for showing us so many vans!
If I had nothing else I could live in one. Luckily I don’t have to 💕
How in the world did they mount the buddy heater??
Oh yes! I saw that…clever!

I'll film it. 👍
Maybe some people like to carry more stuff.
Because they LIVE in them, PERMANENTLY! These aren’t just set up for a week away ‘glamping’… 🙄🙄😒
It’s a home, not a shuttle van for four people on a sightseeing trip. Grateful they let us see into their intimate spaces, no reason to judge.

It’s amazing how everyone’s needs are different and you’ve created your own system! 👍
Not for me.
You do a great job on your builds. I’m old and need more room.Have a good and safe drive wherever you travel.
@donevans7290 Wait until the next one.
