That reptile lamp is the best idea for some heat👍. Makes perfect sense 🤔. Safe travels.
I love that idea also! Thanks for the comment!
Can you share the link to the repitle light
Reptile light and GAMA lid container are excellent ideas!
I thought so too! 😊 I might even get a reptile light myself!
@@thisvanlifeofmine lol…it’s in my cart!
I use a diaper hamper. 0 smells.
Genius heat lamp hack.
I know I want to try it 😁

@ yes she did!
A reptile light?? Wow, I have to try this. Thanks for sharing!
I want to try it also. I'm on the lookout at thrift stores for one 😁
Reptile Lamp!! I’m getting one! That’s brilliant!!! Shelf on top! Another smart idea!! Thank you so much for this!
You are welcome! I want to try the reptile lamp also 😁
Very creativity use of her limited space!!!!
I agree 💯
I'm definitely going to get one of those reptile heating lamps for emergencies. Great idea!
It’s a great backup heating option for sure! Not sure how well it would work in freezing temps. I might buy one and see how it would work!
Reptile light is also useful for infrared therapy
Didn't know that thanks for the tip!
That rack on the ceiling is a great idea!
I agree, fabulous idea!
I ❤the name of your house!! Thanks for your tour.
You're welcome! 😊
Lol Betty White. Very nice.
I loved it!
The reptile light is a good idea.
I thought so too!
@@nonya.bizness Excellent points, obviously from someone with experience. I'm just an armchair van dweller, and always thought an electric blanket or heating pad would work the best.
Smiling faces and on the road Perfect!
Life is good 😊
Hi Mona! Fun times.. this smile’s for you 😀😃😄
Hey Linda 😁😁😁 right back atcha!
Always new ideas . Never get tired of seeing setups.😊
Me too, they are so inspiring!

It’s probably because I’m a teacher..lol. Terri
I agree! It's important to have a good system! I have seen people get frustrated because of lack of organizing.
So many great minivan set ups. Nice work. ❤❤
Thank you 🤗
Another great idea, unusual but functional ! Far to often, we don't think out of the box, THANK YOU for sharing !

Yes she does and yes she is!
Thank you for the video and sharing your van. Awesome idea for heat. Blessings to you.
You're so welcome, thanks for watching! I want to get one and try it 😄
Hi. Loved your video. I'm getting one of those Reptile lamps! Seems like a great idea for a little heat with a little wattage draw. I just subscribed and hope to see more of your videos. I'm from Central Oklahoma. Sure wish I could find others to visit with about living and maybe even a meet up nearby. Bye...
I meant Nomad living
Welcome aboard and thanks for subscribing! I hope to see you at a meet up someday! Check out Butterfly Tribe women who camp on Facebook. We organize Meetups for women in that group.
Gotcha
I'm in Q 😁
Very cool 😎
I thought so too 😁
Love the setup!
I thought it was a great no build setup for sure 😁
So smart!
I agree!
I really wish you had included a link to that "den dry" stuff, under the foam padding, that she mentioned.
I didn't think about it but will go back in and put the link in the description.
Just search Den Dry, pops right up.
Love the reptile light idea. Where do you keep your clothing? I saw where you put the next days clothes, and the 'extra' clothes, but where are your everyday clothes stored? Nice layout, though!
She has them packed in the back.
@thisvanlifeofmine thank you, I thought that was just extra things, like jackets, etc...
Hi it’s Terri…I’m a part timer so I only carry a small amount of clothes…they were in the back. Mattress on floor means no under bed storage..I really wish I had under bed storage but I love the headroom and space when mattress is folded so that’s the trade off
I was look at that light in temu this morning. I thought how much would that help me when im off grid. Thanks for letting us know about it.
I'm not sure how it would work in below freezing weather but I'm sure it would help. It's in the low 40's here at night.
Are you comfortable ordering from Temu? I never trusted it, and then they came out with warnings, such as: "Cybersecurity experts suspect that the app could bypass cellphone security settings to spy on other apps and even change settings. This raises the risk of identity theft and other security issues." 2 (Quote is from a trusted source, but ut*be will remove my post if I include it.)
Wow…so many really cool stashes Theresa!! You are very inventive & creative. I like how you task place your things, great tweaking!
That’s such a game changer, not constantly moving things! What was the name of the treatment on the puzzles tiles please? Nice space!!
Great interview Mona. Hi Linda. Love the Max pic❤️🐾🦴❤️ ps…trying the reptile light, to keep the dampness out!!
I forget the name of them but I have seen them in Home Depot around the flooring area.
I'm thinking about getting the reptile light also 😁
Den-dry is the layer under the rubber mats..rubber mats from Home Depot. Can’t remember brand name but all the Home Depot’s have them.about $50 for 6 or 8 tiles I think.
@ thank you so much for this info😘
@this van life of mine - Shoot! I need to come visit with you if you are still around the Q! I am finished with my projects (pretty much).😊
That would be fun! Let me know I'm here at least another week or more 😁
I like that rack
etting attached to the ceiling. Research sand batteries, better solution fot using electricity for heat. It's super, marine-grade immersion heater coil in a metal bucket filled with sand. Sand thermal mass absorbs the heat and releases slowly. Read a comment from a vanlifer that did it and they said it barely sipped power to heat their van all night. Coolest part is you can also heat it from below with an alcohol\gas stove outside, get it super hot, and then bring it in as a slow-release thermal battery. It'd have to be very cold to do that, you aren't likely going to need to get the sand as hot as that to stay warm. I played around with ancient hot rocks technique to heat a super tiny "house" on wheels I lived in for 1.5 years, worked amazingly. Some of the old ways are better than most of the new ways. I put the rocks in a steel bowl on a flat rock on a wood shelf and it made the little space so hot I had to open it wide in single digit temps, just absurd heeat. After some hours the rock cools down enough to be wrapped in a towel to be a lap warmer for hours more. A sand battery works like that except the heat come from electricity conversion.
Thanks for sharing that great information. I will definitely look into it!
@@thisvanlifeofmine You're welcome, be well :)
In a van weight is your enemy. sand takes up a lot of space and add a lot of weight and doesn't radiate the heat as well as you'd think.
@@johnblank885 Hey there, so you gave it a try?
@@johnblank885 Not hard to just grab dirt from the desert and dump it out when traveling
where did u get those steel bars u used for ur table legs..what are they called..i cant find in a search
You should be able to find them at Home Depot
Hi this is Terri. I found them at Home Depot. If you google perforated steel angle, you should see them.
What was the green square thing above her bed on the right??
I believe I have seen storage crates on Amazon like the green square box. Sides open.
I believe it's a storage box you can find on Amazon. All sides open on it
I think you are right
Where did you get the reptile light please?
amazon
Any pet store. Don’t buy from Amazon.
Any pet store should have them.
Where did you get the "dendry"?
On Amazon Google dendry mattress underlay
Online..I think Amazon has it. This is Terri answering! One thing about the den-dry…when you cut it, the cut edges of the material can flake off…not a deal breaker, just have to vacuum up small pieces every now and then.
How is it as far as road noise? I don't like road noise. I'm thinking of getting a Ford Transit but I'd have to insulate it super well and that would be expensive and time consuming. I'm thinking of getting a Ford Transit because I could stand up in it or somewhat stand up in it.
I don't know
Hi it’s me Terri. It’s hard to say cause it’s the first minivan I’ve had but to me she is smooth and pretty quiet.
I am a bigger woman & i can’t make up my mind on the bed i’m gonna put in my van. A thick air mattress or a tri fold mattress like yours. Is it really comfortable?
She says it is comfortable, I have a memory foam 8" personally
Hi Brenda, it’s Terri. I like the tri fold. They come in different width…I like the 30 inch wide tri fold. Takes up lots of room but would not want a more narrow one! Never tried air mattress .
It sure is interesting how so many women seem to have a mental block to learning how to work with wood or much of anything tool wise. Why is this? Is this really the fault of the parents? Who else could be to blame? This hugely disables women from doing many practical things to solve problems. Like living in a sensible vehicle. Not a bloody car. A van or cargo trailer would give her about 4x as much space. She could tow a cargo/enclosed trailer to hugely increase her available space. Women keep on making these bonehead decisions. "Let's move to a tiny space then not maximize it. That makes sense."
The only women that have good builds had a man build it. It shouldn't be like this. There is nothing stopping women from doing this.
This is more a van tour of her van than how she heats her van. I stopped watching at 3:27 bc she still hasn't talked about how she heats her van and that's the only reason I clicked on this video.
She literally talked about how she heats her van at 3:29
@@turkishpro1 Came here to say that😂😂 Poor Mary😂
@@debrafoster499 bless her heart ❤️ … PROTIP: you can go into the setting of any video on RUclips and watch it in a faster speed if you’re feeling impatient or the pace is slow. It’s called “Playback Settings”.
