    Couldn't agree more with the other commenters. These series - the fianchetto and Kings Indian speedruns, as well as building habits, are some of the most fun, and most instructional content I've ever seen and I watch them all multiple times. Please continue making content like this, either with different openings or principles!

    Wonderful commentary as usual. Being the end of another GM Hambleton series some general comments…
    I appreciate the clear, practical, and above all honest style. It’s time to end when the GM says the ratio of learning more about the opening is low compared to other factors (tactics and positional play). I also admire the overall “learn by playing it” style instead of “don’t learn openings until you’re rated ####…” that is so common among other excellent teachers and players. Being an old beginner I really believe GM Hambleton’s approach is well-suited to the gamer generations and highly effective. Even if it’s not a great fit for me I still get so much out of it by trying to think along. Kudos!

    • @KancerKowboy
      @KancerKowboy 2 года назад +1

      Yeah at my age I am never going to memorize openings this is the best chance I have of learning openings would be these types of series. I need to see it over and over in many situations and I can actually finally understand why the move order is the way it is.
      When I was young my associative memory would have allowed me to memorize lines and openings but I don't think the way I did when I was memorizing and repeating propaganda and information I could have looked up in an encyclopedia for tests any longer. I cleaned all that crap out of my head and now I just think critically most of the time. This series is so logical to me. I think there is a gold mine to be made with this format but this time of year not many are playing. Come late Fall I think would be a good time to start another one of these as people start coming back inside and playing more.
