That's why I love this channel so much. The empathy and attraction towards chess really is contagious. Because of Agadmator I look towards the top 20 in the 2700 club like others do to football players. Even went to Tata Steel once to see them irl. And don't get me started on Ivanchuk. Everytime I think of Ivanchuk I see this beautiful photograph with the colorful umbrella hahahahahaha

The position was so bad for black that there was more than one line to check mate. If instead of playing both knighs Nd5+, you just play Qa7+, then after the king goes to c8, you play Na4 and there is no way to avoid mate with Nb6+, you can delay moving the rook on d8 to give room for the king, but after Re8(or anywhere), we have the forced: Nb6+ Kd8, Qb8+ Bc8, Qc8#

    • @SB-ex2px

Checkmate like that with a queen and knight is extremely satisfying! I have reached similar ones in online blitz a few times while being down an exchange! My opponents have been pushing and attacking with their material advantage and suddenly I have been able to land in a check with my queen or knight and a few moves later it has been a checkmate with a knight and queen in the corner! Although I haven't gotten any congratulations sadly but more like claims that I cheated in some way :D
