I had my 2003 series 2 TD5 less than a month(12 years ago), before I completely removed the EGR and replaced it with a straight tube. The MAP sensor was completely blocked and the inside of the manifold was filthy. Blanked off the pipework and everything runs cleanly now. I am sure that whoever came up with that idea, had no knowledge of what is required to run an engine cleanly. Got better performance and fuel economy. On another note, I did about 25km's in darkness a couple of days ago and got to test the Auxito LED headlamp globes. Brilliant and my mechanic friend who was with me, said it was money well spent.
