Still really is my fav BABYMETAL song. Budokan is a special venue, especially for the Japanese. So not really just any old crowd. If I am not mistaken they were the youngest or one of the youngest entertainers to have played there. If you get to Budokan, you have essentially made it in Japan. A lot of BABYMETAL fans love the 2 night stand at Budokan (Red Night and Black night). Mostly for the sound. Also it is pretty clear that there wasn't many backing tracks for Yui and Moa. They sang pretty much all of it. Now on Red Night(1st night) when they did Headbanger, there were no guard rails in place and Yui fell right off the ramp to the floor. You can't really see much of the tumble, it was dark in the area, but Yui did not come back to finish Headbanger. But, Trooper that she was she came back for the last song, Ijame, Dame, Zettai. Which starts off with Su in the spot light and Yui and Moa in darkness unseen. When the lights came up, there was Yui raring to go and the crowd went ballistic. Also during that final song, Moa took a tumble and obviously tweaked her back and finished the song in obvious discomfort. This kind of bravery and professionalism is what makes us fans so loyal. That they just would not quit performing no matter what. They came back at the next nights show and put on a pretty perfect performance. Anyway, all part of BABYMETAL lore now. Sorry for rambling so much. But, their example of professionalism at such a young age and the downright iron will to not give up always fills my heart with admiration.

"Headbanger!!!" is definitely in my top 5 BABYMETAL tracks. Su actually screams twice in this song, and I always get chills when she does. For something more recent check out "PA PA YA!!", which they released last year (2019) as a single off of their latest album _Metal Galaxy_ (released the same year).

That was the final song of a two song encore that night at Budokan.
With the great Hideki Aoyama on drums.
This one is in a bit of a lower register for Su, which I always love hearing.
The blu-ray for those Budokan Red Night and Black Night shows is one of the best deals via Amazon, etc.
BTW, BABYMETAL will be streaming both nights of the Tokyo Dome concert on their RUclips channel.
Friday, April 10th at 8 PM (Japan Time): "Tokyo Dome: Red Night".
Saturday, April 11th at 8 PM (Japan Time): "Tokyo Dome: Black Night".
Both shows last about an hour and a half each.

If you watch the live at Legend 1997 version you do get to see Mikio doing the guitar solo. 'Headbanger' is right up there in my list of favourites too and I'm with you on the vocals in death metal etc. It's so much better with Su-metal's vocals.
'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first metal concert on her 15th birthday. On their 15th birthdays Yui and Moa each took over lead vocals half way through (there are fan cam videos) and last year Moa did it again for her 20th birthday at Legend M (it is not on RUclips but just ask if you want the link to see her sing ... and do the scream at the end too).
The previous night to when this one at Budokan was filmed Yui fell off stage during the call and response bit - Su and Moa finished it without her, but she was back on stage and smiling for the last song - then Moa face-planted in that one and twisted her knee or ankle, but carried on and did all the choreo too.
You want a newer song .... how about something completely different - it is fan cam only at the moment, but this one has had the sound remastered so it isn't too bad. This song has caught everybody by surprise 'BxMxC' ruclips.net/video/BjNHAZAAQug/видео.html

@@Grington300 honestly, I'm kind of afraid to rank them to much, it's like choosing between your own kids. Some really hard choices would need to be made. Babymetal has such diversity in songs so it's also like comparing apples and organges. What I do have is favorite performances of songs.

    • @Grington300
      @Grington300 4 года назад

@@autohmae Yeah I get that. I did the sorter thing, just for my own amusement - you can give a tie where you can't choose between one song and another. I did it again and not all the results were the same on a different day, but the songs at the very top of my list (that would be about the top 40) were generally consistent ... but it is all academic as there isn't one song in there that I won't listen to and the ones not in my top 40 right now could move up at any time. I doubt any one of us would have a list that was even closely matched with anybody else's.

"With the legendary long black hair gorgeously disordered, this crazy blooming flower will soon disappear. Now the time has come. I no longer hesitate. I tightly hold my discount railway tickets. To the east, to the west, to the south, to the north. Today I rush to the very front of stage center. On the left side, on the right side, standing up still, leaning back, jumping toward the stage, leaning over the fence, rolling over the crowd, and then all deeply headbanging. This special night of my fifteen I'll never forget. All the crybabies, get out of here! It'll never come again and it goes by so fast. I etch in my heart this special night of my fifteen."
Hi Detrucci! Good reaction! "Headbanger!" is a song about a girl going to her first metal concert on her 15th birthday. It's easily my favorite song on the first album. The 2 night Budokan concert is one of the best concerts they've done. I pull out the bluray every now and then and rewatch it. The Nippon Budokan was originally built as a judo arena for the 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics, which is why it's got the stage in the center with the audience all around, it's been a pretty famous venue for many artists to play. I'm with you man, I really like melodic metal. I'm not a fan of cookie monster vocals.
I don't generally recommend the newer stuff because Amuse really likes to copyright block it all. I really like the new "Metal Galaxy" album that was released last year, but I'm not sure if I can actually recommend any songs on it that won't get blocked. I don't think any of the proshots are on youtube for that very reason, except maybe for the Glastonbury set, but that had really bad audio problems.
    Maybe these make it through:
Kagerou - ruclips.net/video/A6dUvXcOs-0/видео.html - This was live on the 2019 US tour but it doesn't say where this video was shot. Pretty good for a fan cam. This is my favorite song on the new album and it's got a solo intro from the Kami's of the West. Chosen Avenger: Riho
BxMxC - ruclips.net/video/BjNHAZAAQug/видео.html - Live at Brussels 2020 Europe tour. Second favorite on the album. Picked this one because the audio is pretty good for a fan cam. Chosen Avenger: Momoko
PA PA YA - ruclips.net/video/oO7Y8NsnkRg/видео.html - Live video from Yokohama Arena 2018 over the studio recording audio. My third favorite on the new album. There's a live version from Glastonbury but like I said it's got audio issues so this is the best version on youtube. Chosen Avenger: Kano
Also, celebrating BABYMETAL's 10 year anniversary they're going to be streaming their Tokyo Dome performance from 2016 on youtube this Friday and Saturday! twitter.com/BABYMETAL_JAPAN/status/1247849195714666496

For this song, about a girl going to her first heavy metal concert on her 15th birthday, they did special versions for each Yui and Moa on their 15th at their first Europe concerts (Paris and Köln) just before Sonisphere 2014. Suu passes the mic and they take over the lead vocal just before the breakdown.
At Legend XX (2017), the lyric was changed to "night of my 20th" in honor of Suu's birthday at the performance in Hiroshima (Suu's hometown).
Last summer at Legend M, in Moa's home prefecture, in honor of her 20th, the lead was again transferred to her as in 2014 (Ganbare Moachan!). Moa totally nailed it. And her mature voice is really, I mean really, good! Her vibrato got a little wide on one note, so she must have been a bit nervous, but as always, professional Moa. It is sometimes referred to as Moabanger.
Another great reaction, Detrucci. Love your style.

this performance are from the 2nd day "BM Live Budokan Black Night Apocalypse 2014". when they played this song the night before (Red Night Apocalypse), YuiMetal fall from the stage, so Su-Metal & MoaMetal has to finished the song without her. when the crowd still in shocked & worried after that incident, miraculously for the next song (last song) she's back to the stage like nothing ever happen. but unfortunately this time is MoaMetal whose slips & injured her left foot. despite the injury, she's still performing the dance choreo till the end & try her best to keep it together (fighting the tears).
its amazing that the three young girls from Japan are more profesional & more "metal" than some elitist.
as you may know that the gong are a homage to the band "X-Japan" & in the MV there's also a neck brace, homage to Yoshiki (pianist-drummer) "X-Japan".
while this performance is good, but i think "Legend 1997 at Makuhari Messe" version is more epic.
just like a comment from someone saying,.. "its not over before the skinny girl hit the gong",.. LoL

This was my favorite song on the first album and I think it remains my favorite overall. For a long time I couldn't decide between it and Onedari, so we may have similar tastes. 😊
For the latest songs off the latest album, Metal Galaxy, you might have more trouble with copyright. But as others have mentioned, BxMxC is a standout despite only having fancams to see it performed (though that, and the fact that it was only released in Japan, helps with copyright). It is only three minutes, so one approach you could take would be to react to both the CD audio - link with lyrics ruclips.net/video/nJ7xjmKtQgA/видео.html - and a fancam in a single reaction, in whichever order you'd prefer. Other songs from the album which have official (performance) videos include PA PA YA!! and Shanti Shanti Shanti, which are very different. Of the two maybe PA PA YA!! would suit you more, but there might be copyright issues if you handled it like normal.

My personal favourite from their latest album is BxMxC, only fam cams of this up to now though, but there are a few good ones. There is an official video of Shanti Shanti Shanti though this is just concert footage with studio sound, same with Elevator girl. There are a couple of music videos, Distortion and Starlight, though these don't show the girls. They also have a video of Pa Pa Ya, I'm not too sure about the audio on that one though (live or studio), not one of my favourites to be honest.

Nice reaction. This song is about going to your first concert and then realizing this feeling won't last so you etch it into your heart to remember it forever. Now imagine if this was the first concert you went to. Ruined for life. Chasing the unicorn. there's not much out there that's equal to that. But lucky for us Babymetal is still around and on tour. Making new fans ruined. LOL. They brought the heavy for Headbanger. For a song with a similar flavor on the drums. Try Amore a Su solo song. Features Su's amazing stage presence and the Kamiband gets to shine throughout the song. Along with some more stage theatrics. Su starts the song on top of the stage rigging. Babymetal tries to get even the folk in the nosebleed seats their monies worth. Something from the new album you say. Divine Attack the first release and a song Su had a hand in writing the lyrics for. Enjoy the journey into the metalverses of Babymetal.

Really enjoyed your "rambling", because it was actually what you think and what you liked about it. That's what these reaction videos are for in my opinion.
If you want another song from the Budokan shows, there's always Akatsuki (ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html), one of my favorite songs from Babymetal, because it has everything (except for Moa and Yui, because it's a Su solo). Beautiful vocals, beautiful guitars, pounding double bass drums and a lot of performance from Su.
If you want something new, try Starlight (official video ruclips.net/video/hPVx7IazcEw/видео.html. I don't think there's a live version on RUclips). That's my favorite from the 2019 Metal Galaxy Album. It's the unofficial tribute to Mikio Fujioka, the Kimi Band guitarist who died at the beginning of 2018 from a fall off of a observation deck while star gazing. It also has a lot of English lyrics in it, if you listen to them you'll understand why it's a tribute. Especially the backing lyrics sung by Moa are super emotional because of it.
