I bought State of Decay on Steam in 2021 when it was on sale. It was a hit-or-miss purchase, as I had no clue if this game was actually good. It was. I had a lot of fun with this game. Fast forward to now and State of Decay 2 is my most played game on Steam, with over 2000 hours spent on it. Man... maybe I should go outside more. 😶

in my personal opinion, the combat is better and feels more fluid is state of decay 1, and heavy weapons are also busted as all hell in 1 which is fun as hell, also the abilities the powerhouse class has are 100x more satisfying and fun than the ones in state of decay 2 in my opinion
Playing SoD 2 first is actually the way to go imho, because the first game was much better in CONCEPT, but worse in practice. It had a better story, environment, characters, world, and the DLCs were awesome. The second game has an incredible gameplay loop and mechanics, but almost entirely lacks any real story, the characters are hollow and cheap at the best of times, and the worlds somehow feel emptier despite having more in them. Going from 1 to 2, you see all the bad. The corners cut, the decisions made. Going from 2 to 1, you see the ideas/basic concepts laid out, and the evolution between the games. Btw play the SoD 1 DLCs, they are very much worth it unlike the Red Talon mode that was dead on arrival!
I have State of Decay and State of Decay 2 on steam. I have state oF decay on Xbox 360 as well. State of decay fun and can be annoying and brutal at the same time.
Carefully!! I plan a lot, make sure I have spare repair kits, petrol, etc... I almost exclusively drive on the roads!! It'd make terrible viewing. Unlike the way you do it!@@JayTalbot
Chesus how do you manage to burn down so many cars. I play this game for a while and i did not lose more than 3 cars in all this time i just don't get this. I have played 600 hours in State of Decay 2 and lost only 3 survivours in all that time...
