Hi Michael, great to see you back. Just went and ordered one of the models from hobbyking in Australia.Looking forward to what you and hobbyking bring to the hobby/sport in the future.Cheers and all the best .!
Purchased many products from HK during their heyday period around the mid 2010s. They were so competitive that smaller local hobby shops are no longer around here in Australia. The RC hobby is really over in our country. Show up at any model field and it's just a few guys who can afford IMAC or turbines. Ohh yea, check out the price of the newly released hobby king jet foamy... Let's see where HK are in 12 or even 6 months.
Good to hear your back with HK. I hopefully wish you guys will design some good grass field plane. Most of the ones we fly at my field get landing gear damaged or can't handle low cut grass. Also get HK to sell more replacement parts for the planes you help create. Some are available but some aren't. I look foward to checking out some new planes you guys make. Thanks for your videos and your input to my hobby.
HK was really hot back in the mid 2010s. After coming back to the hobby in 2022, I saw their website, selection, prices & shipping costs went down the tubes!
Now let's see Hobby King back it up! They still have issues, lots of them. Customer service does not meet Industry Standards. Fix that and maybe we will see change.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and disagree with you. The old Hobby King/hobby City, totally agree with you. But under new management, things seem to have changed. I'll give you a direct example; recently ordered a Goosky S2 from them as they offered a 25% off entire order to get me back as a customer. Was skeptical based on previous experiences. I also ordered 3 Turnigy batteries that they stated would fit the heli. Guess what...they didn't fit. I emailed CS expecting another bad experience. Amazingly, they refunded me for the batteries, no questions asked. And they didn't require me to send the batteries back...said to keep them 😮 Now try getting that from HH. I will do business with the again when the time is right.
I am certain that all companies have complaints. I do know that I am confident after speaking to them at length that they are committed to doing their best.
Yes, I am convinced commitment to customer experience will benefit everyone, and HK is very committed to this. I am convinced of that. I am really looking forward to the future.
Whoohoo glad you are back lets see some more Wargo planes.I have 3 in my fleet!! Maybe you can help them figure out cheaper shipping to Canada. $40 to ship a 100 plane is ridiculous.
And that is a Prime example of Free Market Capitalism. Everyone has value, just find where you fit in, are appreciated, and your contributions matter. Congratulations to you Sir, and much success on this future endeavor. And if you can, fly some of the Xfly twin 40mm edf's, they are awesome!
I stopped purchacing from hobbyking because of their high shipping costs. And the covoluted way in which the shipping price tier works. Adding one gram could end up doubling the shipping cost.
Hi i was a subscriber when you were with the other company i found your tutorials extremely informative but had to unsubscribe due to total lack of faith in that product. Now that you have switched company's i have subscribed again . Best of luck looking forward to great videos to come !!
Well good for you I guess but until there’s clear change at HK these are simply words and your belief’ over the last 5+ years HK have reaped exactly what they sowed. I myself are very dubious anything will happen.
It would be nice for Hobbyking to honor warranty. I received a damaged airplane and filed a claim on December 9th and still no progress. I have reached several times and still nothing.
I am sure they will handle it... Understand that sometimes (not you) but people really push the envelope on stuff. It is so hard for a company to know who is just trying to pull one over.
They have the photos and have agreed to replace. They just haven't done anything. This is why I'm hesitant to purchase from HK. I respect you but HK really needs to improve their customer service.
For me making planes "better" would mean making them more fixable and longer lasting. Sadly I don't really think this can be an aim of a company like HobbyKing - they make money by selling new planes.
That's really not true. I can assure you they do not look at it that way. THere is no conspiratorial program to make them break to force new sales. Personally and from the company perspective, they actively concern themselves with durability. My Wargo Yak was literally chosen for that reason over other designs. A crash is a crash and you never know, but they try to make durable. I promise!
@@MichaelWargo I'm not talking conspiracies. Companies sell stuff by making them look good while keeping them cheap to make. So we get plastic landing gear brackets that crack and servos/ESCs that fail. No conspiracy, just commercial pressures. (Btw Landing gear could be much improved by using "sacrificial" nylon bolts screwed into steel blind nuts secured in wooden blocks within the aircraft fuse. Bad landings break the bolts rather than ripping out the belly of the plane or snapping off bits of plastic. Doesn't need to weigh much. I've modified a few of my planes this way to extend their life.)
Wishing both you and HK a fulfilling and long-lasting partnership.
