Galaxy S21: Controversial yet complete?

- I just got my hands on the Galaxy S21 so I thought I'd share with you my first impressions and thoughts before my full review!

Yeah the only disappointment for me is the lack of SD card slot. Otherwise I think Samsung made the right decisions to reduce the price. The base S20 last year was pushed too far towards the premium category and a lot of people couldn't afford it.
8 GB RAM is more than enough for a smartphone, 1080p isn't an issue since the S20 wasn't able to do 120Hz at 1440p anyway, and plastic back isn't as big of an issue as people might think.
Some people are upset just for the sake of being upset. The S21 is out of stock in many countries, the demand is extremely high, and this proves that the S21 is indeed a great value for the money.
I'd rather a plastic back + aluminum frame than a glass back + plastic frame like the oneplus nord. This feels more sturdy and is less prone to breaking. Pity about the lack of microsd slot and removal of MST though.. headphone jack, sadly is still a goner. Welp.. guess I'll stick to my trusty s10e then.
Great video Zach! You’re a good potato 🥔 few thoughts: imma miss that extra RAM when gaming. Also, I haven’t heard anyone mention this, but if it’s a plastic back then I at least wish it were removable. Back to the customization of the moto phones, you know?

Just waiting to get One Ui 3.1 on my S10+
Still runs amazing nowadays. I don't feel like changing a new phone yet. In fact it has headphone jack, sd storage, Android 11, latest securty patch and One UI 3.0.
The camera app has improved (with nightmode, manaual video,..), it feels smoother and the fingerprint it feels miles better than release date.
I also have the S10+ and I feel like it was the last good Samsung phone with almost no compromises.
Same here if I was you I wouldn't that is still an amazing phone and my opinion one of the last great phones I'm trading in my s10e however because of battery and got a sweat deal on the s21.
I have the Note 10+ and I'm not ready to upgrade. I fact I only got this last year November. The cameras, the performance and the overall phone experience is still awesome.
How is the camera optimization for social media?

I waited and opted for the one with the microsd card slot. If it shoots 8k videos where the hell do you put those? It would take forever and a day to upload those to a storage box.

Kind of disappointed Samsung removed the sd card slot. Wasn't that bothered with removing the charger brick. The plastic back isn't a problem for me since I love using Dbrand skins. Overall, not that bad for the price. Anyway, nice review as always Zach!

1. Violet is nice, but too femenine.
2. Plastic is better, more durable, cheaper to make and people put a case anyway.
3. 1080p display, at a 6.2 most people with a 20/20 vision won't tell the difference, I've done test with friends and confirmed it. All phones with 1080p by default and most people won't even change it.
4. Less ram, well again, who needs more than that?
5. SD card, this one there was no reason to removed. The cloud is just a BACK UP, that is it. At least is only $50 bucks to upgrade.
SAMSUNG wants to make money 💰 and thats fine and last years s20 we're way overpriced and some features were too much for 99% of consumers who just use it for texting , Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, RUclips, so it makes sense to remove or water down some features. People just want a big, bright oled displays with good cameras. My wife is the perfect example, I've bought her an S20 FE and she loves it and told her it was the best flagship and even better than iphones and all of her friends love her phone, but moved on with their lives.
Don't kiss up to Samsung so they can continue sending you review units. Bottom line this is not the best product to buy. No MST using Samsung Pay, No sdcard support, No charger, No headphones, poor 1080p displays on both S21 and S21Plus models, all this means #NOSALE. Samsung has disrespected it's customer base and will suffer extreme poor sales. I'll be glad to see them fall on that face so they don't fuck around with the upcoming Note21Ultra. Those features subtracted from S21 better be in Note21Ultra in August.
Samsung took away what most people never really used, I nvr use MST, NFC is good enough, never used the SD card slot, there's no need for glass backs, and barely a significant difference between 1080p and 1440p.

99.9% of people buying this phone do not use expandable storage, so... It's only tech people on RUclips that even "claim" to use expandable storage and that's not even always the case.
