They do use instruments occasionally. If they do you will see it in the video. There are a few with Kevin cello-boxing...Shallow, Say Something, Over the River(another with Lindsay) and Thank You (Scott also plays piano in this one).
I love how angry and in character Avi looks. Thanks for the reaction. Kevin is an excellent cellist, and cello-boxing (his invention, and how Scott discovered him)
There is a "Behind the Scenes" video of the making of Radioactive and they do an "Avi Frown Count" cuz he did about 10 of his grumpy looks ( for fun) : ruclips.net/video/2do2V8lJjN8/видео.html
Lindsey Sterling was a contestant on America's Got Talent in 2010 with choreographed violin playing that got her to the quarter finals and helped get her her first album and increased her RUclips presence. She now has platinum albums and world tours and collaborations with major pop singers and other string players. Worth checking out.
The Arena, Roundtable Rival, Between Twilight, Shadows, Prince of Tides and Shattered are a few of hers I would suggest watching. She's absolutely awesome. Her ballet moves while playing are incredible!!
Don't worry about the faded video. We know the copyright hell you have to go thru to post a reaction. We are sympathetic to that. FYI I would watch your reaction with no video, just audio.
I’m sure someone already mentioned this in the comments, but Kevin was ‘discovered’ and asked to join the group based on a video he posted where he was ‘celloboxing’ - playing the cello while beatboxing. He typically does this at least once in their live concerts. Kevin is freaking amazing.
Others have already probably written this, but Lindsey is a ballerina and violinist who can dance full-scale while playing flawlessly. Kevin was first noticed by the PTX trio when they saw a video of him "cello-boxing." PTX has made three collabs with Lindsey and we always hope for more.
she does another good one with PTX in over the river. Kevin is an accomplished celloist. Lindsey is know for dancing when she plays . She has a utube page. check it out
Not only have Pentatonix collaborated several times with Lindsey but she is amazing in her own right. She composes her own music and can dance while playing. She also recently did an amazing performance playing while doing aerial acrobatics hanging by her hair!!! She is also amazing. You should check out some of her stuff!!
Yes, Lindsey Sterling is worth reacting to. Also, recommend their Say Something and Shallow for just a few of his celloboxing. Fun fact: when Scott was looking for a beatboxer to form Pentatonix, he saw Kevin on RUclips celloboxing. Recommend their God Only Knows.
Pentatonix uses a cello (Kevin) who also beat boxes at the same time....called celloboxing lol. Lindsey is a student of ballet as well so she dances while playing.....all incredibly talented people
Yes it's very impressive when string instrument players can also do other talents while playing! It takes a lot of skill to not mess up the instrument while multitasking. Kevin & Lindsey are masters at it for sure! Another singer I like does dancing while playing violin, though it's not what he's known for most. Mostly he's just promoted as a singer, but he does more than that like many great entertainers today. His name is Henry Lau, & he's a Canadian (of Chinese heritage). He was a member of a kpop boy band for a few years but then went solo. He plays many different instruments like Kevin does (& even likes to throw in things like drumming on steel barrels & such, & experiments with live looping on stage just like Kevin does in some of his solo stuff) but his fans also know he loves to do violin or guitar while dancing around & will almost certainly do some of that in every show he does. When he does a show he does a mix of original songs & covers of popular songs that he loves. Once as an ode to Michael Jackson he did Smooth Criminal as a full dance performance with backup dancers & him on violin. No singing on that one, as in his arrangement the violin was taking place of the voice. Still it was fascinating. They weren't just dancing a little bit either, it was a full out dance like MJ would've done on stage & yet Henry did the violin perfectly while being lead dancer. That was a few years back & it still impresses me! I don't know how he & Lindsey can move their body around so much & not accidentally have the bow lose contact with the violin. I don't know how they can keep it straight in their heads what moves they're about to make & what notes they're about to play & never get mixed up. I know they practice a lot, but still there are some things practice alone can't account for.
I really enjoyed your reaction I haven't seen anyone get as excited about the violin as you did. Thanks again for pointing out how Lindsey was moving while playing, that is not easy. Thanks again for a great reaction.
Kevin calls it Cellobxoxing, when he plays is Cello and beatboxes at the same time. You should totally check out his own RUclips channel with his covers and original music. Also, another one that PTX did with Lindsey Sterling is Into the Woods, which was amazing to watch and fun song.
Watch the PopSpring Concert where they do 4 songs. 3 originals and a evolution of Michael Jackson. Water that Kristin sings, wrote the song with Kevin. Scott sings lead in Cracked, Mitch sings Can't Sleep Love, Kirsty, Water and all sing MJ Evo. Its amazing!
since you are a scott fan you should really check out a duet he did with his friend, mario jose. its called lost on you. it really shows scott at his best.
You need to see some of Kevin's solo projects. He started beatboxing while playing the cello when he was in college and decided to switch from pre-med to music school, but Pentatonix recruited him right after he graduated. His RUclips channel is KO -- Kevin Olusola. There isn't a lot of content, but there is a lot of variety, from cello boxing and pop and classical music going back before he started with Pentatonix, both solo and collaborating with other musicians. His most popular videos feature him looping cello, beatboxing and singing. For solo celloboxing try "Renegade" (a cover -- or KOver as he calls it -- of a 70's rock song by Styx)
Lindsey is an awesome performer. We saw her live a few years ago and I would go again in a heartbeat. You should check out some of her videos like Roundtable Rival, Shatter Me or Shadows.
Glad that you enjoyed this awesome collab. They are all amazing. I love that Mitch sung in his lower register in this song. He and Kirstie really brought the background to life. Scott was incredible, as always. Kevin Olusola is a world class cello player and beatboxing master. Check out his RUclips channel. Everything on it is awesome. Also check out more of Lindsey's performances. She's brilliant.
The name of the instrument that you were looking for that Kevin was playing is the cello. And if you love instruments, I recommend reacting to a duo called 2Cellos. They do a cover of Thunderstruck by AC/DC that will blow your mind.
LOL Occasionally they will break out Kevin's Cello "Beyonce" Kevin invented the form of music known as Cello boxing, that's how They found him on RUclips to form PTX. If there is an instrument they will be front and center. Lyndsey IS a star with the violin. They also collaborate on "Over the River" Lyndsey won dancing with the stars when she appeared, she kinda fits in that freak of talent nature with these peeps. Kevin played Carnegie Hall on Cello as a Teenager. Loved the reaction man!!
There’s a few songs that Pentatonix has done with instruments but they like to try and stay true to their roots and do acapella! Lately, they’ve done songs that use instruments to expand their boundaries but still do acapella with those instruments. A perfect example would be Over The River ft Lindsay Sterling, Dancing On My Own which was right after Avi left but before Matt came in. Love love love both of those!
If you like Scott, you would like their two originals Cracked and Misbehavin. Scott leads them both and they are amazing. I don’t think there are official videos for them, but plenty of live performances. Loved this reaction. 💕💕
So glad to see you back to Pentatonix. I really appreciate you. RUclips seems to have cracked down in the last week on a lot of different types of reactors, so don't worry about fading the video.
I have so much fun listening to your reactions. You are a blast to watch. I love what you do. Thank you. Looking forward to your next reaction, whichever song you pick.
Kevin is a Master Cello player or Celloist, he also has the ability to beatbox and play the Cello at the same time, thus having the term "Cello-Boxing" named after him. They kill this one, and I love Imagine Dragons and the original....but they kill this!
ANGELICA HALE was 12 when she recording HALLELUJAH on the Piano ANGELICA HALE was on AGT 2017 She was 9 she was the first youngest runner up in the history of AGT First Audition RISE UP, GIRL ON FIRE recieved Golden Buzzer, CLARITY quarter final, WITHOUT YOU Semifinal SYMPHONY for the final all the best, n AGT the CHAMPION singing THE FIGHT SONG recieved the 2 nd Golden Buzzers she's the only one to receive 2 Golden Buzzers in the history of AGT she's from Atlanta Georgia please don't miss it please check it out thank you.
You will enjoy Avi's solo music, Change on the Rise is his most watched, Black is the Color of my True Loves Hair with Peter Hollens showcases is beautiful lower register and he just released his first solo full length album Floating in a Dream that is spectacular! Subscribing for more older PTX and hopefully Avi Kaplan.
Lindsey is sometimes referred to as the electric dance violinist. If you want some Christmas-themed reactions, look at "Warmer in the Winter" and "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" for her. For non-Christmas, "Master of Tides" and "Roundtable Rival" are two of my favorites, but my number one is "Shatter Me". I never heard "Radioactive" before I heard this version, so Imagine Dragons' version always throws me off.
If you want to see Scott rap, please react to Can't Hold Us. Kirstie and Mitch rap in it as well and Avi's bass and Kevin's beatboxing are off the chain.
ANGELICA HALE has so much for you to check out STONE COLD, WHAT ABOUT US, DRIVER LICENSE, DYNAMITE, DANCING MONKEY, TALKING to the MOON, REACH Live Performance in Pasadena California USA when she was 12 outstanding phenomenal performance n many more please check it out.
Since people are recommending solo work, I'm going to recommend Avi's. He's put out quite a bit of music, about 90% original, since leaving PTX, and recently released his first full length 11-song all-originals album. While all 11 songs are great, this one might get you going -- "I'm Only Getting Started". Note that Avi uses instruments in his own music, and sings all the parts as well. ruclips.net/video/9tFYp3pq3PQ/видео.html
Yes please react to Lindsey Stirling. Pentatonix and her have another collab called: Pentatonix - Papaoutai (Stromae Cover) (Official Video) ft. Lindsey Stirling ruclips.net/video/ScDIkNcqZjE/видео.html I love this reaction!
ANGELICA HALE recording performance on the Piano singing HALLELUJAH phenomenal Amazing Incredible Beautiful Angel Superstar please check it out thank you.
ANGELICA HALE recently recording performance 5 days ago recording performance RISE UP she's 14 now n she's on the new Movie AMERICAN REJECT please check it out you'll not be disappointed you'll be amazed please check it out she's God's Given Miracle Magical Amazing Incredible Beautiful Angel Superstar she's Special and the best.
Lindsey Stirling is a whole other rabbit hole ❤️🔥
~Pentaholic from Louisiana 🐊
They do use instruments occasionally. If they do you will see it in the video. There are a few with Kevin cello-boxing...Shallow, Say Something, Over the River(another with Lindsay) and Thank You (Scott also plays piano in this one).
Their third collab with Lindsey Stirling (and Kevin cello-boxing) is Papaoutai - sung entirely in French!
Cello boxing is insane. In fact Kevin is insane overall lol. I am a big fan of Lindsey too.
They do two other songs with Lindsey; Papaoutai and Over the River. Definitely worth watching!
And Lindsey has her own channel. She does great stuff and is terribly under-appreciated.
I love how angry and in character Avi looks. Thanks for the reaction. Kevin is an excellent cellist, and cello-boxing (his invention, and how Scott discovered him)

I love Lindsey - She is an amazing artist
Kevin invented cello-boxing.
Lindsey Stirling has "Master of Tides"... You need to see it.
Others have already probably written this, but Lindsey is a ballerina and violinist who can dance full-scale while playing flawlessly. Kevin was first noticed by the PTX trio when they saw a video of him "cello-boxing." PTX has made three collabs with Lindsey and we always hope for more.
sexy moves + violin in perfection = Lindsey Stirling (thats fact in this world!)
she does another good one with PTX in over the river. Kevin is an accomplished celloist. Lindsey is know for dancing when she plays . She has a utube page. check it out

Lindsey is amazing! I highly recommend checking out her song Shatter Me ft Lzzy Hale.
Lindsey is also a ballet dancer. She also appears with then inacross the river and papaouti which is in french

That is how the group discovered Kevin. They saw him cellobox on RUclips and flew him out to join them for the Sing off.
The name of the instrument that you were looking for that Kevin was playing is the cello. And if you love instruments, I recommend reacting to a duo called 2Cellos. They do a cover of Thunderstruck by AC/DC that will blow your mind.

There's an iHeart video of them singing Cracked and it's fire.
I love your enthusiasm, it’s so refreshing from some reactors who just sit and watch a nod once in awhile.
See Over the River for more adorable Lindsey, Kevin on the Cello and Scott going nuts.
There is a reason PTX versions are called upgrades intead of covers 😄
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ptx and Lindsay Stirling are great collaborators you forgive it not being acapella.
They also did Over the River and Papaoutai
To see Kevin multitask, definitely check out his solo channel 😉 start with Down
So glad to see you back to Pentatonix. I really appreciate you. RUclips seems to have cracked down in the last week on a lot of different types of reactors, so don't worry about fading the video.
When they use an instrument they don't hide it. It's up front so you see it.
I have so much fun listening to your reactions. You are a blast to watch. I love what you do. Thank you. Looking forward to your next reaction, whichever song you pick.

It's called Cello-Boxing. Kevin plays the cello, too. He speaks 600 or 700 languages as well. He's a genius!
Remember, they don't do covers... They do upgrades! Kevin plays cello.
Lindsay is pretty awesome! You should definitely react to their cover of Papaoutai with Lindsay as well as Over the River.
Daft Punk - Avi Kaplan & High School Honor Choir Kirstein, Avi and itch were only 19 when they did this.
