PTX doesn't do covers, they do upgrades. The best video of comparisons is the PTX version of "Gold". Watch the original by Kiara first, for as long as you can. She had to use computers to sing her own song. The way Mitch sings it will damage your brain. Have your wife near by to call the paramedics when you get to that.

I've seen reactors think that Mitch was replaced because Mitch changed his look so often. I've also seen reactors think Kirstin was replaced because she dyed her hair. It is confusing to see a video five minutes after watching another video but not to realize that years had passed in between. They sound exactly the same (i.e. perfect) but they have grown up and changed their styles.

You made the exact face I did when the camera zoomed in on Scott and he started to sing. It's also so rare that it happens (since they're usually vocals-only), but I loved having a chance to see Kevin play the cello and do what he calls "cello-boxing". (And yes. That's Mitch. :) )
Carol of the Bells...the official video is one of their first videos. There is also a live version from their recent TV special. Plz react to either one or both since u have studio vs. Live and one with Avi and one with Matt. Each of their parts is so intricate its amazing when they put it all together. When I first started my “Pentaholic” journey, I was aggravated when fans would say “PTX does upgrades”…I thought what hubris!!! Well, seeing and hearing is proof! This song is a perfect example, even if you’re not willing to go with “upgrade” at least admit that they take certain songs and “make them their own”. No disrespect to Imagine Dragons, but I listened to their original…I barely recognized the song.
I honestly didn't know that they covered Imagine Dragons' Radioactive, that's so cool because Imagine Dragons are one of my favorite bands in the world.
This was my first PTX video. I searched radioactive on RUclips and this was higher on the search results than Imagine Dragons. They blew my mind! You should try watching their very first performances on the Sing Off. The trio were 19 and Mitch skipped his High School graduation in order to audition with the others. Their 12th performance there had the first Mitch Slap. And I love Saucey Packets or Sauce Packets.

Old lady here, You must watch PTX video of THE DANCE OF THE SUGAR PLUM FAIRY? I watched it last night. I think it will blow your mind. If you don’t remember the Dance of the sugar plum fairy, you will as soon as the video begins. Another amazing video by my favorite group. I just can’t get enough of them.
There's a reason they call her the dancing violinist. Lindsey is fabulous to watch. I just took a few to hunt for an old video she made called "Shadows," in which she gets into a bit of a dance-off with her own shadow. It's great. That dissonant scrape that Kevin made sent chills up my spine, and looking at these guys in all their scruff was awesome. Yes, Mitch has changed a fair amount since 2013. As has Kirstie (wow). Scott has matured nicely, but looks like his hair is just fixed in time. Remarkable. Kevin has changed, but it's subtle. Avi, whoa. He would have fit right in with Mad Max. Just keep working your way through whatever PTX strikes your fancy - we'll come watch you watching. :) ETA: I've never heard Imagine Dragons, so I went to check their video out of curiosity and I am laughing myself dizzy. Thanks for another wonderful reaction to Pentatonix! Love seeing how they support each other and the success they have achieved after such a difficult start in their careers. Lindsay started out with 'Americas Got Talent' and was eliminated early on with Piers Morgan telling her that she sounded like she was strangling cats and Sharon Osbourne telling her the solo hip-hop was not working and she needed to find a group to play with. Kevin had created and perfected his celloboxing to give it more of a hip-hop feel that everyone could appreciate. Pentatonix won the 'Sing Off' but the promised recording contract dropped them after a week stating acapella was a novelty that would not sell, not enough people would listen to them. They struggled financially and posted their work on You Tube and became very successful-- they always appreciate their fans. You would enjoy one of their early originals, "Sing". Very fun and upbeat video they made with their fans after inviting them through social media to join them at the pier.

This was filmed shortly after their win on The Sing Off, so they're all really young here. I've never really heard Mitch talk about it, but he was also really sick a few years later and lost a lot of weight from that.
He didn’t lose weight from being sick he admitted to suffering from an eating disorder where he became too skinny. He has since gotten it under control and a is much healthier now. That’s why he spoke so highly of project heal. They helped him through it.
You should see them at their onset - call up their Sing-Off performance list, and choose something. The trio was 19 years old, Avi and Kevin early 20's. And they were wunderkind, each.

Yes, those of us who discovered PTX when they were so new and young fell in love with video like these. (See “Starship” and “Save the World/Don’t You Worry Child”). I think you would enjoy that sound. Also “Warrior” by VoicePlay is in the same vein. I a little more pop/rock sound than other content. IMO. :)
You want to see them as babies. Go online and find when they went of the show call THE SING OFF. Which to know surprise they won. The wanted to go on that show but they needed 5 people in order to audition for the show and that is when they picked up Avi and Kevin.
They also did some video-like commercials for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Oreo Cookie, Sesame Street, etc. I will always love them and appreciate their creative and vocal talent like none other. But I will always love their older, a little less polished stuff.
I have never heard anything bad by Pentatonix or Lindsey Stirling. Some of my favorites by Lindsey Stirling are "Elements", ",Master Of Tides" (Performed live on the streets of Las Vegas), "Phantom Of The Opera" and "Shatter Me" with Lzzy Hale. Lindsey Stirling was on America's Got Talent in 2014 and didn't make it past the judges cut, Howie Mandel told her "I just don't see this as a Vegas show. I don't think people would want to watch it for an hour.", paraphrased. Since then she has done many world tours, at first as an opening act for Amy Lee and now on her own. She has performed with many top artists besides Pentatonix, like John Legend, Lzzy Hale, Amy Lee, Peter Hollens and many more. Her cover of "Your A Mean One Mr. Grinch" with Sabrina Carpenter singing is phenomenal. Though she doesn't sing very often, she sings in her cover of "Santa Baby" and in her"Lord Of The Rings Medley", using different voices for each. I would rather be called something like a "Flying Saucer".
I did all that fun stuff....😁Enjoyed it too!! Scott has that 6 octave range and is a little freaky in talent. This song is like getting hit by thunder and electricity all at once. I'm still sticking with my theory they are aliens. GRATS on 10K!! Kevin has "Beyonce" If you ever want to hear a Cello sound like an electric guitar while he beat boxes, sings and plays...all at once try Kevin and "Down".
This is the video that got me hooked on PTX. First one of theirs I ever saw. I watched it because I was following Lindsey. Yes, take a moment to pick your jaw up off the floor. And their video made more sense than the original.

Any Pentaholic will tell you that PTX doesn't do covers, they do upgrades. ETA: Mitch has changed his look drastically throughout PTX's 10-year career. Radioactive is early PTX, when they all still looked unfinished. Mitch has changed the most over the years. ETA2: "They're babies! They were that good that early?!" Oh, you NEED to check out MrDuckBear's videos of The Sing-Off Season 3, where PTX performed. The group actually formed as a whole literally days before their audition for the show, and they won the season. They were *that* good *that* early.
Radioactive was my first time ever hearing PTX as well as Lindsey Stirling... aaah memories. Also gotta love that you said you hope we brought snacks just as I was shovelling rice pudding into my face cause I'm having a wuick breakfast before heading out. Definitely the superior version. Song was good before, this made me love the song. This came out near the beginning in 2013... 8 years ago it's crazy how good they were then. Their Daft Punk Medley is pretty cool as well that came out in that era!

Thanks for another wonderful reaction to Pentatonix! Love seeing how they support each other and the success they have achieved after such a difficult start in their careers. Lindsay started out with 'Americas Got Talent' and was eliminated early on with Piers Morgan telling her that she sounded like she was strangling cats and Sharon Osbourne telling her the solo hip-hop was not working and she needed to find a group to play with. Kevin had created and perfected his celloboxing to give it more of a hip-hop feel that everyone could appreciate. Pentatonix won the 'Sing Off' but the promised recording contract dropped them after a week stating acapella was a novelty that would not sell, not enough people would listen to them. They struggled financially and posted their work on You Tube and became very successful-- they always appreciate their fans. You would enjoy one of their early originals, "Sing". Very fun and upbeat video they made with their fans after inviting them through social media to join them at the pier.
You really can't go wrong with Pentatonix Christmas songs. I'd say start with some of your favorites, and go on from there.

I love watching the sheer astonishment on your face. It's so endearing. Just wait til you watch their episodes of the Sing Off when Kirstie, Mitch, and Scott were only 19 years old. This was filmed shortly after their win on The Sing Off, so they're all really young here. I've never really heard Mitch talk about it, but he was also really sick a few years later and lost a lot of weight from that.
He didn’t lose weight from being sick he admitted to suffering from an eating disorder where he became too skinny. He has since gotten it under control and a is much healthier now. That’s why he spoke so highly of project heal. They helped him through it.

You should see them at their onset - call up their Sing-Off performance list, and choose something. The trio was 19 years old, Avi and Kevin early 20's. And they were wunderkind, each.

Yes, those of us who discovered PTX when they were so new and young fell in love with video like these. (See “Starship” and “Save the World/Don’t You Worry Child”). I think you would enjoy that sound. Also “Warrior” by VoicePlay is in the same vein. I a little more pop/rock sound than other content. IMO. :)

Go online and find when they went of the show call THE SING OFF. Which to know surprise they won. The wanted to go on that show but they needed 5 people in order to audition for the show and that is when they picked up Avi and Kevin.
They also did some video-like commercials for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Oreo Cookie, Sesame Street, etc. I will always love them and appreciate their creative and vocal talent like none other. But I will always love their older, a little less polished stuff.

I have never heard anything bad by Pentatonix or Lindsey Stirling. Some of my favorites by Lindsey Stirling are "Elements", ",Master Of Tides" (Performed live on the streets of Las Vegas), "Phantom Of The Opera" and "Shatter Me" with Lzzy Hale. Lindsey Stirling was on America's Got Talent in 2014 and didn't make it past the judges cut, Howie Mandel told her "I just don't see this as a Vegas show. I don't think people would want to watch it for an hour.", paraphrased. Since then she has done many world tours, at first as an opening act for Amy Lee and now on her own. She has performed with many top artists besides Pentatonix, like John Legend, Lzzy Hale, Amy Lee, Peter Hollens and many more. Her cover of "Your A Mean One Mr. Grinch" with Sabrina Carpenter singing is phenomenal. Though she doesn't sing very often, she sings in her cover of "Santa Baby" and in her"Lord Of The Rings Medley", using different voices for each. I would rather be called something like a "Flying Saucer".

I did all that fun stuff....😁Enjoyed it too!! Scott has that 6 octave range and is a little freaky in talent. This song is like getting hit by thunder and electricity all at once. I'm still sticking with my theory they are aliens. GRATS on 10K!! Kevin has "Beyonce" If you ever want to hear a Cello sound like an electric guitar while he beat boxes, sings and plays...all at once try Kevin and "Down".
This is the video that got me hooked on PTX. First one of theirs I ever saw. I watched it because I was following Lindsey. Yes, take a moment to pick your jaw up off the floor. And their video made more sense than the original.
I chuckled w your realizations (that is Mitch, better than original, yes they were that good that young) throughout the video. So enjoyed your reaction. I envision you converting your family to Pentatonics and eventually you all will attend a concert together. PTX bridges generations of listeners. It's one of their superpowers. ETA: Mitch has changed his look drastically throughout PTX's 10-year career. Radioactive is early PTX, when they all still looked unfinished. Mitch has changed the most over the years.
ETA2: "They're babies! They were that good that early?!" Oh, you NEED to check out MrDuckBear's videos of The Sing-Off Season 3, where PTX performed. The group actually formed as a whole literally days before their audition for the show, and they won the season. They were *that* good *that* early.

They were babies... Mitch skipped his High School graduation ceremony to go audition for The Sing Off... he was the youngest and Avi was the oldest at 22.

Definitely the superior version. Song was good before, this made me love the song. This came out near the beginning in 2013... 8 years ago it's crazy how good they were then. Their Daft Punk Medley is pretty cool as well that came out in that era!
