*Federico Fellini* is the greatest filmmaker of all times. He remains unsurpassed. And his legacy has shaped all the great film directors who came after him. After all, Fellini is the only movie maker whose name was turned into a new adjective to be used in all modern languages - that is the word _"Felliniesque."_
Why is it I so love these Fellini images? I'm sure it's the same with all my fellow Fellini fans. I've seen all the scenes a zillion times! Yet they are all a part of my life. So it's just like leafing through a big family photo album!
Thank you, my friend. I am back again. This time around I’m trying to make more movies. I miss it. I didn’t remember my past life until I was 24. I need to finish the one about purgatory… I will get there again.
The genius of Fellini was his rarely surpassed ability to unwittingly combine the artistic styles of Ingmar Bergman and Michaelangelo Antonioni. No other filmmaker has reached that pinnacle of cinematic expression where words and images so captivatingly intermingle .
That was very touching. I love Fellini, Giulietta and Marcello. On top of his creativity and imagination, Fellini showed in his movies the most beautiful women in cinema, all very different in shape and personality but equally adorable. For me that is a bonus to otherwise a extremely high quality of filming.
these movies are like impressionist canvass so beautifully etched in every department, European cinema French and Italian more so Italian had that quality
La Dolce Vita and 8 1/2 are two of my favourite films of all time. I will never forget the opening sequence of the latter. That scene at 1:38 reminds me of the last scene of the Seventh Seal. Also, I wonder if Tarantino was inspired by that dancing scene in 8 1/2 for Pulp Fiction?
True.👍 There is some resemblance between the shots of 'Juliet of the Spirits' and 'The Seventh Seal'. And yes, '8 1/2' dance scene could be the inspiration for 'Pulp Fiction' as well.
Of course Tarantino was inspired by Fellini, as well as Fellini was probably inspired from Bergman in that scene. I've actually never noticed the similarity with seventh seal; you have such a good eye!!
@@Adyfilk, In all honesty I view this sublime piece nearly every day. One's soul requires such energy after being drained by the lies and filth of the times. These days the beautiful is sorely lacking. By the way, R.I.P. Donald Sutherland.
Fellini told stories with his camera with such emotion & precision -- if I were a famous author I'd insist on Fellini to bring my words to life. Yes, Visconti, Bergman & de Sica were also up there -- all excellent -- but there was always something special about Fellini. And as far as his wife Giulietta Massina is concerned -- Charlie Chaplin said she was a marvel ("La Strada")....and she was. To create a character like Gelsomina -- that's once in a lifetime. Anthony Quinn, we expect good work & many know his work. But Messina, many people to this day don't know who she was.
So amazing, spectacular, breathtaking scenes of masterpiece's films, next will be Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, James Cameron, boon join ho, hayao Miyazaki, and many, many more :)
The best Fellini's movie 1. Otto e mezzo 2. Casanova 3. La dolce vita The best movies in the history 1. Otto e mezzo 2. Casanova 3. Citizen Kane and La dolce vita and Whinter Light (Bergman)
Fellini and ..............................................................................................................................................the rest.
And why nothing from I Vitelloni?? That's perhaps his most sublimely beautiful film, visually. But I'm glad it's omitted, because the soundtrack added would only ruin it.

Fellini the greatest of all. He touched humanity like no other..

Lychian??
He is at the top no doubt, but don't forget that a shot or scene can also be Bergmanesque.
There is also Capraesque, (Frank Capra) which is commonly used in the USA and I believe other English speaking countries.
@@sergioreyes298 Not very used. At least not nearly as much as _fellinesque._
@@dina113east Same thing here: not nearly known and/or used as the word _fellinesque._
Every entire film of Fellini is the best shot.
Federico Fellini realised the fullness of life on celluloid the way the masters captured it on canvas. Bravo! Many thanks, Adyfilk!
Thanks!🙏👍
The closing using La Dolce Vita and Intervista is marvelous. Great work.
Thanks so much!🙏
Federico Fellini's films are where I don't dare to be in, even though I've been there for years.
These wonderful films are about people and cinema... Thank you!

I see the La Strada shots and "my gorge rises."
Hauntingly beautiful.
Fabulous! The way he captured ambience/mood and light is remarkable. Great cinematography.
So glad you went heavy on shots from City of Women which was something of a mess and yet a cinematic FEAST of images.
Agreed. City of Women is a cinematically brilliant film.👍
Your so right City Of Women although flawed you cant take your eyes of it. I think it has deeper meaning than people realise
I was mesmerised by La Città delle Donne the first time I saw it.
@@65g4 Repeat after me: "Fellini was NOT an intellectual." One can only enter his movies through feelings and sensations.
Thank you. Not one Director in the 21st century compares or inspires as Fellini. Hollywood needs a Renaissance. Why are we descending into the Abyss?
We are decending into the Abyss because of the Private Equity Boys, the modern day Philistines
I get the point you're making, but Fellini wasn't a Hollywood director.
Thank you, my friend. I am back again. This time around I’m trying to make more movies. I miss it. I didn’t remember my past life until I was 24. I need to finish the one about purgatory… I will get there again.
What do you mean renesaaince ?? Hollywood was never good to begin with.
Beautifully done. You understand the glory that is Fellini's cinematography with Giovanni Rontunno. Thank you so much.
Thanks so much for this nice compliment.👍

To _THE_ greatest filmmaker of all time.
The most beautiful shots of any movie director before or after.
Damn... watching these scenes is like being thrown into another space and dimension...
Federico Fellini is one of the greatest filmmakers ever.👍
La Dolce Vita and 8 1/2 are what I think are his best. Beautiful b&w and pretty emotional (mainly 8 1/2)
The music choice is perfect! It's like seeing Fellini films with a different pov.

Of course that dancing scene is totally Travolta and Uma in Pulp Fiction
The procession of fools is itself a reference to commedia del arte
What an extraordinary video montage
