THANK YOU! This was tremendous in helping me understand one of my practice passages for the MCAT. Thank you for going in detail and explaining the nuclear chemistry of this imaging technique!
Neutron = 2 down quarks + 1 up quark. Proton = 2 up quarks + 1 down quark. When a Neutron changes into a Proton, basically a down quark is changing into an up quark. The result is that the new Neucleon (Proton) takes on a positive charge; an anti-Neutrino & a beta-Electron are emitted. This is beta-decay.
This was such an amazing video. Loved the explanation - Best i've come across so far. Please do more!

Thanks for the clear explanation! Also, I have to say that your handwriting is really nice :D
Nicely explained. Would love to know more about other radiopharmaceuticals like 99mTc-MAA
So, proton decays into neutron and pozytron?
Very usefull information, thankyou.
Thank you for the explaining
That's amazing explanation! Thank you!
How do we know that the photons are released at exactly 180 degrees off each other?
Yes energy is the product. You forgot about the Faraday magnetic pulse
Thanks :)
