The EQ seems to be a one band parametric peaking EQ: - Height = gain, a.k.a. Cut/Boost - Bandwidth = bandwidth, sometimes referred to as Q - Frequency = center frequency. The expression controlling the frequency, hence the wah effect. If that's any help to anybody.
Funny thing is, in Sweden, when someone doesn't hear what you're saying you call them "stendöv", which translates directly into english as stone deaf, meaning their hearing is as good as that of a rock.
I bought the Warp Drive on Amazon from Chicago Music Exchange a little over a week ago, they said it was the last one, so far I haven't seen it on Amazon since, I love it, I am so happy I am one of the blessed to receive this pedal, Thanks for the post or else I wouldn't have ever heard of Stone Deaf
The captain: "I wonder if Americans ever get annoyed with us?" I'm American and i never annoyed by you guys! Love all your videos! Thanks for taking the time
re: the Captain's "fuzz epiphany" - I think what suddenly made fuzz pedals work for Lee is that his remarkably improved playing is also more rhythmic, and in my view fuzz works best when the player plays percussively. Now that Lee has loosened up and is more rhythmically expressive, he can better control the wall of sonic noise that a fuzz pedal offers. Great sounding pedals, btw.
As an American, I can say that we are not offended by your enjoyment of the various American accents. After all, I do the same thing with the various British accents.
Lee should really get around to stocking some of the Earthquaker Devices pedals. To me, it seems like they seek out those other avenues of tone for guitar but implement them in a way that it still feels natural to play. They have a lot of great 'writing pedals' as Rob calls them, like the Rainbow Machine or the Bit Commander, with lots of control. They also just have a myriad of different conventional pedals with vastly different flavours. They hit around the same pricepoints as these pedals and are also handmade but across the pond in the USA. I think they'd make for a great review.
It seemed like you guys didn't explain the PDF 2 quite right. Now I haven't used the pedal and I'm not 100% sure how its wired, but it seems like a fuzz with an EQ. The way EQ's typically work is as follows; Frequency knob pinpoints a specific frequency to be effected. Bandwidth is how much the frequencies to the side of the one selected are being effected (also known as Q width) height is then how much the frequency is being boosted or cut (in this case it seems to be just a boost but I'd have to use it to be sure). So the comment at the end about having height and freq maxed is only half correct; Having the hight all the way up will give you the most noticeable effect because it is boosted to the max, but sweeping across the freq is what gives the "Wah" effect. (wah pedals are actually just boosted EQs that sweep across frequencies) If the bandwidth is all the way up, you wont notice any change in tone, because all the frequencies are already boosted. so the PDF 2 with an expression pedal is just a Fuzz with a built in Wah if you want to look at it that way. Sorry, had to take the opportunity to go all audio geek. Great demo and cool pedals! I really enjoy your videos.
I have a pdf-1 and it is amazing. On the clean setting it is a always-on pedal. Select a frequency, boost or cut it with the height knob, and select your bandwidth. You can really sculpt tone with this pedal. Compare with the maestro mpf. The new controls for the dirty channel look handy as well.
I wont speak for the rest of my countrymen from "Merica" but i dont get tired of you guys. I think you guys are very entertaining and your reviews on gear have led me to purchases that have made me more happy than I've ever been playing guitar in 30 years. Thank you Chappers, Captain and the rest of the crew. And you need to get a Chapman guitars tour through the midwest specifically stoping in St.Louis Missiouri
I'm American too and I love their style of videos. best music channel on RUclips for me! I've started modding guitars and have gotten more serious with my playing over the last year and I watch them for more gear and techniques to use for my own!!
No, we Americans (I speak for all Americans here) don't get annoyed with you for the various accents. You've probably had to put up with lots of Americans doing cheesy versions of British accents anyway.
wow. The Cap's playing has come on alot since the early days of Chappers and Lee videos. watch out rob, he's nipping at your ankles. well done guys for an other great video. keep it up.
Agreed! Well Done Captain... I was just wondering how many here might have caught the Scaramanga name or the three nipples comment. It was really great!
I had this playing in the background with rob jamming out like a maniac when my friend called me and he asked "who's that? He sounds awesome!" And I replied with "my dad".
Whhaaa scary Prince reference at the beginning there! Pedals sounds great, although one would struggle to see the dials on the middle pedal when playing live which, when under pressure (rehearsed?) would be a bit disconcerting.
No thanks. We're watching adverts for high end gears it's going to look a bit stupid if he pulls out an Epiphone Les Paul 100. It just wouldn't do it justice.
+Wojtek Szeler a cherry burst lp100 was my first real guitar and i still play it to this day it certainly plays and sounds as good as some of my les paul standards :)
Trashy blonde looks to be like an always on pedal, would have liked to hear it through a Fender amp as into the Marshall it was really just more of what the Marshall was already doing. Great sounding bunch of pedals. :)
Spooky that this was recorded some time before his death and the Captain uses his lyrics and publishes the video on the day of his death. RIP Prince...
Hey that's us!!
Stone Deaf killer pedals guys🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Rob lol cool anyway
Your pedals are so cool. I'm dying to get one. The warp drive got my attention cuz I'm a trekkie lol
Just bought a Warp Drive. Now my favourite pedal.
Shout out to my new t-shirt! ;-)
Speaking of t-shirts I keep thinking Lee's shirt says "World's gayest guitarist." Hahah
+Rob Chapman Shout out to the Fig Fumb! Andertons doesn't carry it?
All hail the mighty fox god!
+Zach Shinobi You may need to contemplate your own subconscious projections
+CreedenMartell Perhaps not. Gayest and Okayest look very similar.
That broken mug gets me every time !
I love the smash sound effect. Never gets old, cracks me up every time. Think I would like as a ring tone.

it is super cool to see Lee getting better and better with the blues :D
This American is always pleased to see more videos from Chappers and The Captain.
Funny thing is, in Sweden, when someone doesn't hear what you're saying you call them "stendöv", which translates directly into english as stone deaf, meaning their hearing is as good as that of a rock.
That's also an expression in english.
You can really tell how much Rob enjoys his life, it's so nice to see someone that's genuinely happy.
Love the subtle Prince references that Lee comes up with on the odd occasion. Another great review.
the Prince reference...long live Prince (thank you Chaptain for all your videos especially when I need a pick me up)
If you wanna review them agter seeing the entire video here athe times:
PDF2: 4:19
Trashy Blonde:11:04
Warp Drive: 18:18
The ES-Les Paul should be called the L-ES Paul.
xTwistedxRagex for sure. I don't get why it says Gibson on the hs
Es Paul

Thanks for taking the time
I like that the Captain's American accent sounds like he's an old timey gold prospector from the 1840's.
would love to see a demo of the whole range without the use of the expression pedal. just to see what the tones be like without eq sweeps
What the freaking fucking fuck, that Warp Drive is one of the best souning pedals I've ever heard
The Warp Drive sounds SICK! Way to shred it bro!
These pedals are awesome! Now I really want to see what the other Stone Deaf pedals sound like.
wow, the first pedal is just OUTSTANDING!!!!
re: the Captain's "fuzz epiphany" - I think what suddenly made fuzz pedals work for Lee is that his remarkably improved playing is also more rhythmic, and in my view fuzz works best when the player plays percussively. something magical about a strat and a fuzz pedal and some wah.
that bit lee did at 16:23 to 16:28 was one of the coolest things ive ever heard on guitar, hendrix would be happy with that
Really want that PDF 2! Wow these are sick :)
Jeez Chappers - your playing was incredible in this session. Noisy, rocky goodness!
As an American, I can say that we are not offended by your enjoyment of the various American accents. After all, I do the same thing with the various British accents.
ROB! bring back Dorje's GUITAR O' DEEEEH! :)
yes!!!
I am watching you from my apartment here in Portland Oregon and you guys Roll real, and you Rock!
We americans do not get annoyed with the various accents that you put on for a moment. We do the same thing with our accents and yours.
How does Rob eat his food? With Chapsticks! Ok, I'm leaving now...
Niels Douma haha
oh man the Warp Drive produces all the best ear bleeding fuzz noise, will literally send you stone deaf!
Those things sound amazing with the expression pedal! Need/want!

I think they'd make for a great review.
iNfx1 I also think they’re similar companies! Eqd gets a bit more experimental I feel tho both super cool!!
I'm ready for a video on the Gibson. I'm buying a Honey Burst Traditional soon so I'm stoked to see the new features.
some great playing from the captain there at the end
Loved the prophetic Prince tribute there from The Captain.
Loved the immense sounds from the Captain
This one is already the second video that made me think Captain would be an awesome stoner rock guitarist
I'm not normally a fuzz guy, but the PDF2 here sounds awesome.

Great demo and cool pedals! I really enjoy your videos.
the banter is the best part.
you guys missed 4/20 man, it's too late for these pedals.
They technically started on 4/20 so I guess they kinda made it?

Oi oi... Always time for second chances eh?
TheZooropaBaby lol

An amazing concept added to the world of effect pedals. Sound is equally amazing.
9:18 OMG! Great job! That was AWESOME!
Good video, and good to see you stocking British made pedals. That definitely makes me more likely to buy from you guys.
You made a Prince reference - on the day he left the building. :(
LONG LIVE PRINCE, the Purple King. \m/
Warp Drive + The Captain = Holy Shit The Captain can rock!
Jesus Christ these pedals sound better than almost anything I've ever heard
lol... lee your friends dad was Count Baltar in battlestar gallactica!! I watched that show all the time as a kid.
As an American, I can tell you that we also enjoy our various accents, and regularly imitate each other as well. So no, I ain't even mad :)
Okay, Lee is playing like a fucking God with the PDF!
21:35 sounds like it could be a Muse riff. Matt Bellamy would make great use of this pedal
+Kaelan Rasputin Fair enough, thought it sounded like Bliss, but different enough to be its own song
+Kaelan Rasputin Brilliant song. Lots of their older stuff is really good :)
I wont speak for the rest of my countrymen from "Merica"

I find I get the best tones on Tuesdays from 12:45 PM to 2:13 PM Us Central Time.
when the captain started playing the strat I was thinking that Jimi came back from the dead.
The design is based on the original Robert Moog’s PDF pedal. It is of course nice that they have put their own spin on it.
Hendrix vibes from the Captain during that fuzz section!
No, we Americans (I speak for all Americans here) don't get annoyed with you for the various accents. You've probably had to put up with lots of Americans doing cheesy versions of British accents anyway.
Damn Lee you got really grungey doing the PDF-2 for a second haha sounds siicckk
Surely when it comes to buying guitars and other equipment the Captain gives Rob mates rates. If not he should ;)
wow. The Cap's playing has come on alot since the early days of Chappers and Lee videos. watch out rob, he's nipping at your ankles.
well done guys for an other great video. keep it up.
The glass breaking sound gets me every damn time!!!
I genuinely had fun whilst watching this
warp drive is devastating, someone needs to put that pedal to use
Minute 21:27 wow such a great sound!! Rob's plays amazing... i got some ideas for that type of tone...
are you still doing that relic video?
You guys have grown on me....lol Great videos. Keep up the great work.
I'm hooked on these products already. Will there be any videos of Stone Deaf amplifiers in the future? Cheers. :)
3:54 That's the voice of 2016, people.
Well done with the "Man with the Golden Gun" reference Lee. Well done.
Agreed! Well Done Captain... I was just wondering how many here might have caught the Scaramanga name or the three nipples comment. It was really great!
Captain please your tone is too good!!!!!!
I had this playing in the background with rob jamming out like a maniac when my friend called me and he asked "who's that? He sounds awesome!" And I replied with "my dad".
that dancing skeleton art is fookin majestic
ooooh maaaan! I was expecting the warp drive to be total crap. but it sounded so awesome and so versatile! i want one!
Whhaaa scary Prince reference at the beginning there! Pedals sounds great, although one would struggle to see the dials on the middle pedal when playing live which, when under pressure (rehearsed?) would be a bit disconcerting.
Holy, those are huge.
If only I had enough money, these look amazing
These pedals are EPIC
you have GOT to check out the Greenchild Amplification G777 pedal... i think it would suit your sound rob!
holy shit Rob when you were playing with the wardrive it sounded absolutely disgusting in all the right ways
21:37 awesome riff! rock lick part 3 please! keep going!
21:53 that lick alone makes me want this pedal
That ES LP looks righteous!
All these pedals sound awesome! And I usually don't really get the difference between most pedals :)
I want the PDF, but i should probably find the right guitar and amp first.
Please use mid/low price guitars (other than Chapman...) in these videos too...
No thanks. We're watching adverts for high end gears it's going to look a bit stupid if he pulls out an Epiphone Les Paul 100. It just wouldn't do it justice.
Yeah because everyone who wants to buy pedals have 3-4k for a guitar.
+Harris Douglas what is wrong with epi lp 100? :D
An alpine white LP 100 looks cool as fuck.
thats a beautiful Les Paul you have there Rob :)
The whole bit with the pdf 2 reminds me more of 90's alt-rock than stoner-rock
I will never get used to the term "plectrum" in place of "pick"!
That PDF-2 is immense
I remember that Kolikos dude, awesome baddy
21:29 This bit left me a bit speechless, really.
I need to go poke my guitarist into getting a Warp Drive
I think Rob needs the Warp Drive for the next Dorje EP.
3:50 That Ursa ultimate sound though, kappa.
+Fuukana-TV Of all places, I didn't expect this channel to be were I could read Dota 2 jokes. Well done.
Dota 2 Jokes Kappa
Spooky that this was recorded some time before his death and the Captain uses his lyrics and publishes the video on the day of his death. RIP Prince...
Chap and Capt will you review the new plexi amps from victory v22 and v44 next days¿?
Captains playing was pretty sick in this
