    It's pretty stupid how heated people get about who's the fastest and who has the least problems and who has the most power...what machine looks better..bla bla...can't we just say we all dig ATV's...it sounds like some if the guys on here would be fighting if a guy on different ATV than you showed up to ride....I ride with guys riding all kinds of machines...lots of can-ams, kawi's, polaris, artic cats....sport machines... Big crazy 4x4's...renegades....old...new...who gives a shit...have fun..

  • @ATVdotcom

    That's a tough question. You really can't lose with either. We'd really like to compare the Scrambler 850 and Renegade 800R head-to-head to get a better idea. However, the Renegade has long been the king of this class and will get the benefit of the doubt until a shootout can be arranged.

    I own a polaris touring 550 since more than a year now... great machine, have lots of fun with it, in the snow, sand and mountain trails. Easy to maintain. I don't regret choosing it one bit.
    I chose that over can am because of the price and the fact that the base model had more to offer than the can am IMO.

    I love reading these reviews..I actually build ATV's. I've worked at both Polaris and Arctic cat..WHen your on the in you will realize that Polaris is the NUMBER 1 quality rated ATV's on earth and the number 1 selling. brand loyaltys keep sales up and competition interesting but hate or not there is no denying that this is a badass machine.

    Sounds fair. As long as you like it, it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. Regardless of its looks, it's a blast to ride.

    I would have preferred Polaris just fuel injected the old 400cc 4X4. That is what made the 1st Scrambler so great, it was truely a Sport Utility hybrid. This is just another Utility quad.

  • @ATVdotcom

    I love that there's more competition in this category now. Hopefully we can put a Scrambler/Renegade shootout together with a video.

    I have a 2011 Sportsman 550 XP and I love it.Everything is pretty much the same except the engine. It has about 450 miles on it without any problems. If i could go back I might purchase the 850 just to say I have one but the 550 has the torque. I keep up with my buddy's Can-Am 800 in the woods but obviously a drag race is a different story. No problems pulling my 60" trail mower around (our property is mostly steep hills). Haven't been stuck even with stock Maxxis tires. Great plowing too!

    Just got this little beauty and it is AMAZING!!! I agree with the fender coverage, it needs some improvement but don't mind getting a little dirty on it. Only thing I don't really like is the rear rack, if you throw a second person on the back the rack jabs them in the butt. If the two points were either further back or more rounded I think it would be amazing. But for now I have already pulled off the rack and enjoy riding her so much!!

    I have owned a lot of quads and worked on them throughout my whole life. my recommendation is going for a 2012 or 2013 sportsman 500 they have a lot of great deals for them right now. they have a updated 500cc computer more powerful then the older sportsmans. if you want the biggest 800 or 850 would be a great quad really have but highly reliable and great for trail/mud /snow/dirt I rated it one of the top quads.

  • @ATVdotcom
    @ATVdotcom  12 лет назад

    That's an impressive use of the word garbage - 15% of total words used. However, can't say I agree. While I never rode the Scrambler 500 until it was near the end of its cycle, the Sportsman 800 has long been a favorite.

  • @badwinzo6
    @badwinzo6 12 лет назад

    I agree with you about the scramblers being garbage but the ride really is one of the best i have ever experienced. The issue i have with polaris is quality. A great ride is appreciated on a long trail ride unfortunately the machine may not get you there.

    We'll try and start with the 800. How are you liking the 1000? We've spent a little time with it, but not too much. We did have the Outlander 1000 for quite a while and it's got awesome power, but the shocks may not be stiff enough to handle it.

    I'll beg to differ there.. I have a 1000 'Gade and my buddy has an 850 Scrambler. Despite who's driving, the front suspension always tires out first in the Polaris.... They both sound stupid in stock form, but I'm going to say the renegade sounds much better with a silencer. Buddy's been a Polaris guy his whole life but 500 miles on this Scrambler has turned him into a BRP man. They each have their quirks, but as far as a true sport machine, BRP all the way

  • @jwvickerman
    @jwvickerman 11 лет назад

    Actually me and a buddy ran head to head... me on my Outy X xc and him on his 2012 850xp. He pulled everyhole shot and actually pulled away slightly up to 50 mph. Coulda been the wet pavement w/ my ITP holeshots vs his stock tires or gearing... who cares really, all I can say is it was a blast and his polaris is made in the U.S.A.

  • @novascotianinjazx9r
    @novascotianinjazx9r 12 лет назад

  • @AtvMan666
    @AtvMan666 12 лет назад

    how did they fail please explain??? just because the renegade is a 1000cc doesnt mean that the scrambler cant keep up. the 2013 can am outlander 1000 vs the polaris 850 xp, 7 out of 10 people choose the polaris. it has way better ergonomics and suspension. hands down the polaris is the way to go for comfort.

    where do you get that number????? the limited Scrambler is listed @ 13,999$CDN I bought a Renegade XXC 1000 (same options as the limited) for 13,400$CDN.
    So I got a extra 5hp for 600$ less than they ask for the Polaris actually.

    I've had two renegades and found them impractical. The first was a 2009 500 and the second was a 2012 800. The latter machine was nothing but a headache but the former was a solid performer. I can't stand the new frame it adds way too much weight. I have never had good luck with polaris, they should focus on quality not how many crappy new machines they can dole out. I know i may be waiting awhile but i would like to see yamaha make a serious big bore 4x4.

    I have an inquiry. My budget isn't really allowing me to lean towards a can am. So I've been in the market of the Polaris sportsman 850 do. I'm new to the atv world and I want something that will get me through the rides my buddies go on. How does the polaris fair as far as durability compared to can am and the other machines? Experienced and educated opinions are greatly appreciated.

    Inadequate front shocks, in our experience. Work fine of the 800, but the 1000 is too much engine unless you upgrade the front suspenders.

    So I'm in the market for an atv, but all I'm getting by asking questions is fanboyism. It's worst than the video game industry. I was looking at the sportsman, and the can ams. I'm just looking for something that's good for all around work, and a little play. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • @manfromwyoming
    @manfromwyoming 12 лет назад

    What 850? Where is your proof? Oh and I forgot to mention the Rene has fewer features and the are having problems with the water pumps leaking. Belt whine is caused from extra friction(which means less of that extra power making it to the ground.....) Polaris was the first in CVT and they still have the best clutches in the industry.

    Normally when people have objections to machines they have a reason. Polaris had problems with their engine breathers and ball joints, which they adressed. Every machine ever made has strong points and weak links, but putting down 13k for a Can Am which is gonna crack a frame if you ride it hard seems a bit foolish for me.

    I'm pretty sure the Scrambler as well as the Renegade will have plenty of power for almost anyone regardless of one being a bike length or so slower than the other. How can you call it a fail just because the Renegade 1000 is a little faster? After all the Renegade is a 1000 compared to an 850. BTW I'm not taking up for Polaris. I actually don't even like them. Just noticed your ignorant comment and figured I'd chime in.

    I Tend to Favor Can-Am or B.R.P. in general but in all honesty the Polaris is the better buy. There cheaper an offer alot more then Can-am Does, There more reliable and just feel more solid. Polaris is Dominating ATV and SideXsides for a reason. They've been completely destroying Honda over the last few years. There Damn good machines, Sleds on the other hand it's all SKI-DOO for me.
