Last story, that is absolutely how you handle a horrible customer, you outright ban them and do not deal with them when they inevitably come back

Redwheel's voice is just perfect for reading these stories. Some readers voices are so hard to listen to.
That's the only good thing about Mondays, there are extra Redwheel stories to hear!

Last story.... If more employees would ban these bad customers, maybe the bad customer would take the hint.

When I was still in high school, I worked at a full service gas station. One guy that stopped every other day to fill up, and whine about things I couldn't care less about. One day his wife was with him, she talked non-stop, telling me how to do my job, criticizing everything. When it came time t pay, I went to his window, and he apologized for his wife, I said, "Opinions are like a**holes, everybody has one, and they always stink." He laughed, never whined to me again, she never returned.

I would not have yelled “you’re fired”… I would’ve yelled “that’s fine, you’re not welcome back here anyways”

Second story is so similar to that story about IBM's CEO Thomas Watson. An employee made a mistake that cost IBM hundreds of thousands of 1950's dollars. When asked if he was going to fire the employee, he replied, "No, I just spent hundreds of thousands of dollars training him. Why would I want somebody else to hire him with such experience?"

On my 3rd day as an expediter (glorified fork driver) the GM motioned for me to stop as I was passing by. I verrrry slowly and carefully slowed to a stop. Nonetheless, apparently a gravity wave passed through and the five bins stacked on my forks fell over. In slo-mo. Five bins of recently turned titanium parts, $10000/bin.
I expected a memorable ass-chewing, but he revealed a slight amusement. I was instructed on how to avoid that in the future, and a bit more training from management. Not my trainer.
Epilogue: I suspect mgmt had some words with my trainer. He was not a good trainer. After being trained by him for a month, I was still getting complaints from various line managers about me mis-routing stuff. I finally quit listening to the guy, went to all the line managers and asked for instruction directly from them, and quickly went from zero to hero.
Trainer and I happily stoked a resentment, if not hatred, for each other the rest of my time there.

I was wondering if Rose is a friends sister. Sounds just like her. Could totally believe it was her. The last time I saw her, she was a 50ish yrs old Barbie wannabe, including orange tan and pepto colored lipstick. (Not joking-my teen girls asked if she was really orange or were their eyes messing with them. Lol)

I worked in Europe for many years. The company was very busy, thus needing to bring over more workers and supervision. This particular job was in Italy. The supervisor sent to be the lead was well known for being a jerk and somewhat entitled. His first act was to demand a car with an automatic transmission. Unlike the US, manual shifting cars are common. It took some doing, but they managed to find an Audi A4 station wagon. It was a nice car. Far better than the Opels and Fiats that were normally reserved for supervision. As the job was winding down, part of the crew was sent to a different project in Germany. Since the entitled supervisor (ES) had a large car, it was designated as the luggage hauler. If I remember correctly, ES traded the A4 for Opel Astra. It was left outside the hotel (street parking) with the keys over the visor. This car was a manual. In front of the entire crew, ES gets into the car to leave, signals into traffic, dumps the clutch, and guns it. The car lurches backwards into a 5 series BMW. Since the road sloped downward, when he engaged the clutch, it rolled forward. You could hear him frantically shifting gears. He dumps the clutch again and the car shoots backwards a second time, hitting the BWW. He pressed the clutch to let the car roll forward, stopping in the middle of the parking space. He puts the car into what he thinks is neutral and releases the clutch. This time, it jumps forward, crashing into the Volvo parked in front of him. ES is done at this point. He pulls the E-brake, turns off the motor, and exits the car. What he didn't realize and no one bothered to tell him was the shift pattern of the car. In the US, reverse is usually bottom right, but this car was different. Reverse was located top left, which was generally first gear for American cars. Instead of going forward, he went backwards twice and when trying to find neutral, managed to find a forward gear. It couldn't have happened to a better guy (sarcasm). The company was on the hook for all damages. Later in the same week, ES put 40 liters of gasoline in the tank. As he was leaving the parking lot, the car died and wouldn't crank. Did I mention it was a diesel? Again, the company was on the hook for all damages. Worked out ok bc he was never invited back.

It's more of a manufacturer issue than a continent issue. My Volvo and the VW at work have the reverse on opposite positions.

I buy all of my produce fresh and I know where it comes from. I will spend more because it’s beautiful and we all know how well cared for it is. I think she’s going to be disappointed when she has to go to the grocery store. Just saying.

Oh Tee Bee, It would be like asking Wendy's to get rid of their slogan, Where's the beef or Taco Bells little Chihuahua, or McDonald's slogan, Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. It's just part of who he is. So this is my last story. 😋
