Flying to Cape Kidnappers ?!

On my first and only flight from Te Mata, close to Napier (North island New zealand), I started to fly direction the sea. Conditions were so good that I could fly all the way there in thermal and back. According to local pilots, it was the first time ever than anyone did that (which seemed incredible to me).
I guess I was gifted with very good conditions !
