Koko Uses a Microphone!

Koko was often curious about devices and equipment used by her human family. In this clip, she picks up Ron’s microphone (used for recording this footage) and blows on it, correctly interpreting its function and demonstrating breath control.

Gorillas, Bonobos, and Orangutans are probably the smartest animals out there. I would include dolphins, elephants and stuff but primates can do so much more with knowledge. There a Bonobo named Kanzi who is the smartest ape in the world. He can understand human language clearly and knows 3000 sign language words. He has a command center of button sounds and every day he aces his tests and puzzles. Even at a young age he picked up on it very well. I love Koko and I love Kanzi, I would have liked if they tested Koko's intelligence more. But I get it wasn't all about brain power.
