    Thank you so much for watching this video. I have to point out a grammar and spelling error I made at the 6 : 01, as I forgot the word "be" in front of the word "eligible", but I spelled the word "eligible" wrong. I apologize for these mistakes. But thank you so much for watching and what ware your thoughts about the Celtics in the 1990s?

      I grew up a Celtics fan but also a Duke fan. So a little too much Kentucky, Kansas and UNC personal on the team for my liking. However, Paul Pierce ended up being one of my favorite Celtics of all time.

    I’ll never forget seeing Reggie Lewis collapsing on the court during that playoff game against Charlotte.

    • @90sSportsNostalgia
      @90sSportsNostalgia  2 года назад +2

      To be honest, for some reason I had no idea about that. I knew of Lewis's death and Celtics fans chanting "REGGIE" so loud, but when I was researching this, I had no idea that Lewis sadly collapsed vs Charlotte. Reggie was so good. Thank you so much for the comment and watching the video.

    Imagine if Len Bias and Reggie Lewis didn’t die. The Celtics would’ve been right there with the Bulls and Knicks in the East that decade. And then you get Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce at the end of the 90s waiting for the torch to be passed to them

      Dont forge Dino Radja. The New Big 3 will be Bias, Lewis and Radja. then in the late 90s a young Walker and Pierce will add to the mix.

    A Celtics fan here since 1979, Its really a bad time for the Celtics in the 90s. After Larry Bird retired in 91, even if Lewis, McHale and Parish were there you knew its over. I still followed and supported them even the rosters looks funny with the likes of Radja, Fox, Brown, Wesley, Ellison, Minor, Barros and McDaniels. This doormat Celtics still had a special place in my heart and broke my heart losing!

    It's also worth noting that in 1996, there was a movie entitled Celtic Pride that came out that showed the Celtics in the NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz. Not sure if you have seen the film or not. Has some funny moments, but honestly it's kinda forgettable

    • @90sSportsNostalgia
      @90sSportsNostalgia  2 года назад +2

      You know what, I really like sports movies, and I have never seen that. I remember seeing the trailers for that film and thought it was strange that they chose the Jazz (but I liked that they chose the Jazz). Anyways, I can't believe I still haven't watched that film. Thanks for reminding me about that film. I hope to remember to see it soon. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching the video.

    Reggie Lewis was fro
    Baltimore back in his day well it’s still kind of true til this day that Dunbar had some talent from the 80’s up until that late 2000

      Thanks for the comment. I'm thinking about doing a video about that Dunbar HS team that had Lewis, Mugsy Bogues, Reggie Williams and David Wingate (I think I have that right). Nowadays, there are prep schools and academies that can accumulate talent so easily, but I would say that Dunbar team might be the most talented legit HS team ever. Thanks again for the comment and thanks for watching the video.

      German Santos and Samurai BeastWarrior, thanks as always - with so much that happened with the Knicks in the '90s that might be a 50-minute video and I don't have the mental toughness and durability to do a 50-minute video. There is a book that came out a year ago about the Knicks in the '90s that I would like to get to one day. But anyways, maybe I can do a Knicks video that is 10-15 minutes long but do it a different way so I'm not leaving out too much. Maybe in the fall as I will write your names down and when I make the video, give a shoutout. But it is a video I should do.

However, I will have a NY Jets video coming out soon in which will be around 20 minutes. But thank you so much for your comment. It means a lot to me. I am truly so thankful.

      The Patriots and Red Sox were decent in the '90s. But after the '90s, Boston fans experienced championships in all 4 of the major sports. I liked the BC Golden Eagles in the '90s under Tom Coughlin and Tom O'Brien and I thought Al Skinner was a very underrated college basketball coach. I liked Al Skinner at BC a lot. Thank you so much for watching the video and commenting. I really appreciate it.

    The 90s were ok but Len, Reggie, and the big three aging was hard. I did just watch a Dino Rjah video. He was fun but my dad hated him. I still hate pitino.

      Thank you so much for the comment Your dad is the first person I ever heard of someone not liking Dino, but I'm sure there are numerous fans who really disliked Pitino like yourself. Coaching in college where you can be elevated to immortal status, then transitioning to the NBA is so different. You are correct, Larry and Kevin aged hard, but the Chief always seemed like he played like a 40-year-old being so stoic. Great comment. I enjoyed reading it.

    If the Celtics would have traded Mercer and Billups to the spurs and Boston drafted Duncan WOW Boston return to Glory would have happened a lot sooner but coming out of Kentucky I thought Messer was going to be a beast oh well you can't win them all

    • @90sSportsNostalgia
      @90sSportsNostalgia  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks again for the comment. I don't think anything would have tempted the Spurs to trade that #1 pick. I too thought Mercer was going to be a better player but he was very solid in the NBA. Mercer was one of the most highly touted recruits coming out of high school. Thanks again.

    Pitino was a a new yorker who also coached the knicks and it really makes his 'coming thru that door' speach' come off as whiny and unapprecitive of north eastern fan bases and their expexctations....not only to win but to give it your all. It also might not have donned on him that the booing was most likely for him as he'd been here for 3 years and the team was going backward..
