Lego Loft I totally agree with you Jang as well as Lego Loft. Having a base that can close up a bit more by being larger would have been much preferable to the plane.
I think this set looks really good! I like how it can be used as some sort of story, with the divers searching for the chest, and when they find and retrieve it, you can then use the sea plane to transport it back to Lego City! I really enjoy your reviews, Jang, keep up the good work!
I agree with you about the plane not really fitting in with the rest of the set, though I imagine that, in play, many children will use the surface of a table to represent the surface of the sea and play underneath with the deep sea elements. I do think it fits well with the rest of the underwater sets though - it it shaping up to be a nice theme. John
I love the style of the plane! If you were wondering why in had the space shuttle cockpit, it was used because the whole plane was modeled after Grumman's Hu-16 Albatross. The cockpit has the exact same style. I also love the base! 😀
I think that each construction in this set is "simple", that is to say not "complex", but thus we have a lot in it, and there are much things we can do with it. Less advanced design but great playability! Nice review!
I got all the LEGO 2015 submarine theme for Christmas, and they are indeed awesome! Here in 2017, two years after I got these, your reviews gave me nostalgia. Thank you.
I think the base is suppose to be above the water not in it that's why there's the lift to pick stuff up and why there isn't a wall aswell it makes more sense for the plane that could land and go up to the base
+Mike Fawc Officially they describe and display it as an underwater base, they try to make it look sealed, and one of the main premises of the set is oxygen resupply with tanks going from the plane, to the flatbed submersible, down to the base on the seabed.
+JANGBRiCKS oh okay that's cool man I didn't realize they described and displayed it underwater but you can always picture it as what you want which is the best part of it I was seeing it more as a base on the top of the water where they would bring everything up from under the water I'm thinking of building a sea theme using real water so I would have preferred if they made it so the plane could float that would have been cool
The set is a little eclectic, but the play value of the plane on the surface and the rest underwater is a fun way to go. Kids are going to use household furniture for terrain and elevation, so imagine playing at, say, a coffee or dining table - the plane goes on the table top (the ocean surface!), the other stuff is on the floor underneath the table. You have your cargo sled going between the plane and the base to transfer supplies and treasure and research specimens. The set would definitely be improved by more stuff to discover - and a mermaid minifig!
I think that its a good idea that each of these sets has some sort of overground vehicle, or its like a lego freight train set with no way of loading/unloading the cargo. I think that maybe they could have just made the plane smaller scale, so it could fit a chest and a pilot but be small.
I like the base where the subs can be winched up. Would have been nice to see the seaplane's wing floats fold up -- I thought they did when I first saw the Technic bricks.
I think the "hangar" is meant to be sealed and only open on the bottom wich does actually work. It makes sense in conjunction with the simple door and the crane , since it wouldn't work underwater
I had fun with this set at my friends house, the plane was mostly complete when I got to build it thankfully it was fully completed up to book 2 so all I had to do was open book 3 and finish it off before moving to the last 3 books to do the base..
I totally agree, this should have been two separate sets. Usually when you get a bigger set from lego, you get one big structure and a bunch of small structures. And I think that they tried to even it out too much between the base and the plane. I like the plane it looks good, but I felt it took too much away from the base
im pretty sure that sticker was a mistake because the % sign comes after the numbers. ive also been on something like this and when it gets down to 70% it starts to alert you and this makes since if it was the other way it would be 68% not %89
Good point on the airplane being out of place. From the video thumbnail I had assumed it was a submerged plane crash site.... Maybe that's a good mod...
That Is great but I though it was strange when the plane had a steering wheel instead of a slanted control panel. My favorite deep sea set is the deep sea double-roder helicopter.
I think that what they were aiming for was for kids to put an air tank in the plane, and then they could fly the plane to where their divers are and drop it off so they could get it with one of the submersibles, then bring it to the base. But that's just what I would do if I was younger and had this set.
Hi Jang, I'm looking at this set and I think maybe the base is supposed to be on the surface instead of under water. The base would sit on land and the crane dock would sit over the surface of the water. It has a crane to hoist the submersible up and down, if it were under water the crane is not needed as the submersible can move in 3 dimensions on its own, also, why does the crane need to lift it if it is already on the seabed with the research base. A landing pad is all that is needed. There is also a folded up ladder on the left side of the crane dock. If under water one would swim or float up instead of climb. If the submersible docks under water, apart from imagination, how would the operator get out and into the base without drowning, flooding the submersible, flooding the base and drowning everyone inside. I think the plane acts as a delivery tool and the cargo submersible is used to move things from the base to and from the plane. Anyway, what do you think regarding this idea?
Alex S I think that's a really good, logical rationalization. Per LEGO's design, though, the whole thing is actually supposed to be on the bottom of the sea. Check out box art and official description at shop.lego.com (set region to UK) or Brickset.com.
JANGBRiCKS I think that the back section is meant to be open from the bottom but airtight on the sides. Like an old diving helmet. The submersible rises up from underneath into the air filled dock area. It is then taken out of the water by the crane. You just have to imagine that the structure has walls. This would also explain why there is no back wall to the control area as it is one side of the loading dock.
i love jangs video team jang forever you had collected all of the lego city we just had police car and a burgler car and a little boat the little boat had a many decine
I have to say I am a big fan of the new deep sea theme, that said knowing LEGO would follow up the series with a big set to be released mid summer I see this as kind of a dissapointment. With some modifications to the sea base and making additional room in the sea plane the set will fit in nicely but would have prefered to have a large modular underwater base.
4REALgamingPR It's actually supposed to be on the bottom of the sea, hence the air tanks, hemispherical ports, & hefty hatch. Check out box art and official description at shop.lego.com (set region to UK) or Brickset.com.
JANGBRiCKS ok, thanks! now i know why you said the airplane should have been a separate set. i do agree though, it would have made 2 awesome sets that i could afford
I like the set, but agree that it is a little confusing about whether the structure is surface or bottom dwelling. The air tanks, lights and bubble windows suggest bottom, the hatch & crane suggest surface? I guess you could imagine it as either.
put the plane, big sub,and treasure thing in one set then make a set out of the base and cargo sub, but make a large reck of somd sort that would come with the base set.
Shane Emery I believe that in one of his previous videos it was mentioned that he would be replacing the swamp police portion for the "Deep sea LEGO sets :D".
Jeremy Thorman It's actually supposed to be on the bottom of the sea, hence the air tanks, hemispherical ports, & hefty hatch. Check out box art and official description at shop.lego.com (set region to UK) or Brickset.com.
I agree, this should've been two sets, however I feel that splitting them into two sets would give the oppurtunity to enhance the seperate models, maybe make the base "the big one" of this subtheme.
Jang, I don`t think the base it`s intended to be underwater, since it has the crane to pull the submersibles out. So I don`t get it why you missed an airlock. You`re reviews are awesome! Greetings from Brazil!
Caio Perez It's actually supposed to be on the bottom of the sea, hence the air tanks, hemispherical ports, & hefty hatch. Check out box art and official description at shop.lego.com (set region to UK) or Brickset.com.
Hey jang....great review as always..... was wondering when watching your review....if you leave the base open where the hook is... can the front of the seaplane fit inside...might be possible as some dry dock for the plane....
I think it would be better if they added an airport for the plane or a ship to land the plane. And i prefere the plane to be smaller then that. Lego could have added a land base foe the land mini figures and added a hatch for the divers in this set. And that crane device is not suitable under water. Thats my taughts to this set.
I think they should have added hinges and a plate so you can have a wall but still be able to open it up to add the figures in. if you read this have a wonderful day☺☺☺😀😀😀😁😁😁😂😂😂😃😃😃😄😄😄😅😅😅😆😆😆
Jang I love your work I've been subbed for about 6 months and I have a question how do you get your stickers on so neatly mine are always crooked help mmmeeeeeee!
i really like ur vids jang and this set is awesome its actually the best i am really thankful yo you for actually reviewing the exact set i like thank you very much
Would've preferred to have a somewhat larger deep sea base with an air lock instead of the plane. It's a deep sea set, not a plane set, LEGO! Same with the other deep sea set with a ship (which I still plan on getting as I got no ships yet and I love the sunken ship too much). One thing I don't understand is why they make subthemes to the city themes, instead of having them be their own theme. There's not much of a connection between DEEP SEA and CITY, is there? Unless... they made a deep sea city... I'd like that.
They did deep sea, they did arctic, they did forestry, and they did swampland. I think the next theme should be mountain-ny stuff. 😃
Maybe even something in the desert I think.
I agree
darth maul Desert mountain range it is, then! :D
JANGBRiCKS also mount Everest
JANGBRiCKS lol
I think they could have made the base a little larger instead of including the plane.
Lego Loft Agreed. Or it could have been a smaller plane at least.
Lego Loft I totally agree with you Jang as well as Lego Loft. Having a base that can close up a bit more by being larger would have been much preferable to the plane.
I dont like this set at all. Especially compared to last years arctic themed base. That one both looked better and had a better play-value IMHO.
agreed Jang and Lego Loft
JANGBRiCKS or a small heli-plane which can land in water too (too advanced but anyways)
I think this set looks really good! I like how it can be used as some sort of story, with the divers searching for the chest, and when they find and retrieve it, you can then use the sea plane to transport it back to Lego City! I really enjoy your reviews, Jang, keep up the good work!
I think they could have included some extra figure space in the plane.
John
The docking area made me think of a moonpool from subnautica

Maybe they should put more detail in the lab but I love this set it reminds me of the abyss movie
I thought they're researchers. They're actually treasure hunters.
I think the base is suppose to be above the water not in it that's why there's the lift to pick stuff up and why there isn't a wall aswell it makes more sense for the plane that could land and go up to the base

I like you're idea Nick Trantattimash. I think I might do that, I'm not sure.
I think that its a good idea that each of these sets has some sort of overground vehicle, or its like a lego freight train set with no way of loading/unloading the cargo. I think that maybe they could have just made the plane smaller scale, so it could fit a chest and a pilot but be small.

Looks usable, both as set as is and as being for parts. Wouldn't mind having this set several times.
I totally agree, this should have been two separate sets. Usually when you get a bigger set from lego, you get one big structure and a bunch of small structures. And I think that they tried to even it out too much between the base and the plane. I like the plane it looks good, but I felt it took too much away from the base
You gotta treat the missing wall like the imaginary 4th wall like in TV shows...it's there to the actors but not the audience
I completely agree with you Jangbricks!
im pretty sure that sticker was a mistake because the % sign comes after the numbers. ive also been on something like this and when it gets down to 70% it starts to alert you and this makes since if it was the other way it would be 68% not %89

This is really cool, reminds me so much of The Abyss
That Is great but I though it was strange when the plane had a steering wheel instead of a slanted control panel. My favorite deep sea set is the deep sea double-roder helicopter.
Reminds me of the movie Abyss.
To me building is ALWAYS the FUN part of a LEGO
i like his soothing voice

You should make a stop motion video with all the Legos you have.
Reminded us of the Legoland Atlantis ride
I like the canopy piece

with the first submersible its the pacific chainsaw massacre
Cool! I think the plane front could e used in future airliner sets - it looks like a dc9 section 41
Really cool set, I have also bought it)
How much it cost? From toys r us
+PrehistoricScience $100 to $200
i love jangs video team jang forever you had collected all of the lego city we just had police car and a burgler car and a little boat the little boat had a many decine

+JANGBRiCKS i believe the base is meant to be a "rig" type of assembly that is above water.

Cool set but I think the lab needs a būt more things.
Jang, you are awesome! I love your set reviews!
Think of the submersible as the cowfish (they have a cool and interesting way of moving)
Just hook the chain to the top to create the look of it being locked and thus the need to cut it. 😀
I like the set, but agree that it is a little confusing about whether the structure is surface or bottom dwelling. The air tanks, lights and bubble windows suggest bottom, the hatch & crane suggest surface? I guess you could imagine it as either.
I feel like the partcost of the plane would've gone better to adding on to the base
I want this for Christmas just because the plane
put the plane, big sub,and treasure thing in one set then make a set out of the base and cargo sub, but make a large reck of somd sort that would come with the base set.
my idea for the this set is to make the plane and a big submarine that delivers supplies to this base and make the base a separate set
They did curved wings on set 31011 (it was minifigure compatible)
Yesssssssss now you have this reveiw posted
yay
This will be epic if u make a little area for the Deep sea LEGO sets :D
Shane Emery I believe that in one of his previous videos it was mentioned that he would be replacing the swamp police portion for the "Deep sea LEGO sets :D".
The base is attended to be above sea level. The air tanks are to fill the subs with air.
Jeremy Thorman It's actually supposed to be on the bottom of the sea, hence the air tanks, hemispherical ports, & hefty hatch. Check out box art and official description at shop.lego.com (set region to UK) or Brickset.com.
I think you should do some minor mods, like you did on the Training Jet Transporter
Oi Jang, do you wish some form of Atlantis was brought back?
Atlantis was my childhood.
When I was 4 years old, my parents took me to legoland, and I got an Atlantis submarine, and I still play with it today.
I miss the aqua raider kits those things were the highlight of my childhood
Because the base doesn't have a back wall because its posed to be above water it makes sense
Jang can u put this LEGO set in ur LEGO city plz :)
I agree, this should've been two sets, however I feel that splitting them into two sets would give the oppurtunity to enhance the seperate models, maybe make the base "the big one" of this subtheme.
Do subtjemes even have "a big one"?
Yeah, such as last year's Arctic Base Camp, 2009's Construction Site, etc.
I could imagine many people using that torso for the orange diver minifigure for a Gordon Freeman (From Half-Life) minifigure - haha.
How dare u
Be so awesome Jang 😂:P
I haven't seen this in Norway at all, which really upsets me as it's one of the last three sets I need to have the full theme :(
This is my favorite set: Melenium Falcon.
2much💵💵💵4me
Grey shark, shark grey huh... interesting official name.
This a good set for pieces
Jang, I don`t think the base it`s intended to be underwater, since it has the crane to pull the submersibles out. So I don`t get it why you missed an airlock.

Hi jangbricks, we enjoyed your review. We like this set. ofcourse we like the base. Robert and Stijn
Some old big window pieces would've suited this set well.
***** WHAT, don't lie to me!
I think it is perfect!
Hey jang....great review as always..... was wondering when watching your review....if you leave the base open where the hook is... can the front of the seaplane fit inside...might be possible as some dry dock for the plane....

Cool set!
I wish that they would make something like a medium sized enclosed
sub that you could buy for about 15$ ... that would be great
This is actually a limited edition (according to "The Brick Show") and might be hard to find... it will be good to hunt this one down :)
Kevin Huang Available from shop.lego.com, currently in Europe & Asia, likely coming to the Americas in late July or August 1.
I think they should have added hinges and a plate so you can have a wall but still be able to open it up to add the figures in. if you read this have a wonderful day☺☺☺😀😀😀😁😁😁😂😂😂😃😃😃😄😄😄😅😅😅😆😆😆
Loving the content Jang!!!!
Please review the Big Bang Theory set!!!
Jang I love your work I've been subbed for about 6 months and I have a question how do you get your stickers on so neatly mine are always crooked help mmmeeeeeee!
Have you noticed that every salvage specialist in this theme has had the same face?
Possibly the deep sea structure can be floating on top of the sea. :)
Why would it have air tanks then?
Awesome Review !!!!!!
the set is good but i like the deep sea exporation vessel the best. I like the operation base i like the pieces of it then i like the sudmersidles
i really like ur vids jang and this set is awesome its actually the best i am really thankful yo you for actually reviewing the exact set i like thank you very much
I like the plane and also wished it came separate.
I like the plane
I definitely feel the plane shouldn't have featured, a bigger or more complete habitat along the lines of the old 6441 would have been ideal.
I love lamp. ....
Would've preferred to have a somewhat larger deep sea base with an air lock instead of the plane. It's a deep sea set, not a plane set, LEGO! Same with the other deep sea set with a ship (which I still plan on getting as I got no ships yet and I love the sunken ship too much).

God, I hate that stupid plane
I like the gray shark because its gray and its a shark.
I finished mine today
Everything seemed reasonable
I LIKE LEGO!
I'm not sure about the yellow oxygen tank for the diver. I doesn't feel right to me, or at least the color.
The 89% is for the amount of air left in the tank
Please review the bat boat
Good video jang :)
This channel is cool
Yeah i agree
It's really bugging me that the canopy piece is rounded at the top but right after it on the rest of the plane it's squared.
I like this set, I don't think we are getting this in store here in N.Z. I don't think I would get it if I could,
