  • Plumpub travelled to Hong Kong and conducted this great interview with C. S. Tang on the core thoughts of this mysterious style, Yiquan. Sifu Tang's decades-long study and association with this often-misunderstood practice is evident as he clearly untangles some of the knots preventing authentic understanding. See Sifu Tang's newest book, a comprehensive manual on Yiquan, at www.plumpub.com/kaimen/2015/th...

Thanks. I am at a real crucial point in my internal development so this information is extremely helpful to me. It's great to hear from the horses mouth.

I think I have watched this video 5-6 times over the last 2 days. One of the most informative interviews on Yiquan I've ever seen! Wish I had this a few years ago-- I've since moved on to studying I Liq Chuan (which has some similarities) because I was unable to go to China to train.
If I somehow find a way to get to Hong Kong regularly (which is one of my favorite places in the world), I'd love to look up Sifu Tang (because he speaks English) -- I also have his Yiquan book for Kindle!
Thanks for posting this, when I'm finished working on these papers this week(grad school student), I'm going to check out your channel!

I like that you stated "in your opinion" in your response. I studied Henry Look's Yiquan and I know where Yiquan teachers are in America. My Yiquan/Taiji teacher where I live was one of the people encouraging me to go to China.
I study I Liq Chuan now and do not need to go to China to study Yiquan. I expressed wanting to meet Sifu Tang because 1) Hong Kong is one of my favorite cities in the world and 2) He seems like a wealth of knowledge when it comes to IMA.

fair enough. but bear in mind there are lots of bad teachers in china and hk too. most of what you need is to be found within yourself.
