- Опубликовано: 31 июл 2024
- The SteelSeries Nova Arctis 1 headset, wired edition, at $59.99 should be an excellent value depending on how much it shares with its more expensive siblings. In this review I discuss all the pros and surprisingly few cons.

Prob best channel on utube with this kind of reviews
What a video, thank you so much
They need to make the other Nova headsets in white.
I’d buy a white Nova 7x in a heartbeat.
A white nova pro wireless would be 🔥
steelseries retractable mic is amazing design, a mix between detachable and built in mic, allowing us to not worry about losing the mic when you take it out.
Great review as always. Not for me, but thanks for the hard work
Nice review, looking between these and the Nubwo N7's for comfort and sound quality
Cheers for the video! I have been researching some Xbox headsets and your videos have been by far the most informative. Due to budget (and how expensive things are in Australia) I am deciding between the Recon 500, BlackShark V2 or the old HyperXCloudX. Not an easy choice! I also hope SteelSeries come to the party for you, and many other companies, because you deserve their support...and you seemed a bit sad in this video :(
Which headset did u get? I'm on the same boat, looking for a headset for xbox
@@justlg3359 Hey :) I actually went for the EPOS H6PRO. After seeing Joe's review (and others) of them I was impressed. Luckily I was able to get them on special - $164 in AU dollars and RRP is $259 here in Australia. If I didn't go with those it would have been a toss up between the Recons and the Nova 1's. To be honest I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. To clarify I am upgrading from some very old Razer Krakens which have been great but are now falling apart.
@@justlg3359Is hyperx Cloud stinger 2 good?
So is the detachable cable unique that is do we have to buy them specifically or can we put in any aux cable?
Have u done Nova 1 vs Nova 3 comparison? Tryna see which ones to buy
I have the turtle beach audio control unit that you plug into the Xbox controller. I mainly play Pubg, whorls you choose this headset or the Astro A10?
should i go with nova1 or hs65 surround for mostly pc gaming and sometimes on switch
As an adult clamping force gives me headaches. I would love them if i was a kid too
good video :D
What do you think about Nova 1 and Gsx 300 combo?
Hey, I recently bought the Arctis Nova 1 and today the right earcup has detached out of nowhere. I wasn't pulling or anything, I was playing when all of a sudden it just fell. I dont know what screw type it is, does anyone know what screw size it is?
hi bro, recently i bought the headset, nova 1, but when i plug in, mic is not detected, even with gg driver, can u help me? (i bought the adaptor for mic and headset, doesnt work :( )
i have sound card on my pc.....you think if i buy nova 1 the headset sounds way better?
i normally buy like 300 dollar headphones but i just bought these because they just seem like the right deal for the price and i been leaning towards spending less lately since i upgrade stuff literally every year, im just tired of paying the top premiums for things . so im hoping they work out
Screen sharing with the Duowan App from Ios device to PC, game sound is coming low on Hyperx cloud 3. Is there any way to eliminate this issue, or can you please suggest best wired gaming headset in which i can hear footsteps clear and high volume notes.
Please reply I will consider it to buy a best gaming headphone under 100$.
can u share for arctis nova 1 eq settings in sonar ?
Hey man great video! Thanks to your reviews I was enjoying the steel series nova 7 but I recently just purchased a hyperx duo cast so now I’d rather spend less money on a headset that has a 3.5 jack to connect to it. I’m considering either getting the nova 1 or the hyperx alpha s. I want to make sure I hear footsteps so which one would you prefer? And since I’m going to be mainly in pc, is it possible to adjust the eq on either headset?
sorry for the late response, but the alpha is very good for footsteps, but they do have very good footstep audio, but the novas have a little less reverb on them.
I need help. I connect the remote cable to the Sony 5 but the headphones don't connect. Does anyone know why?
does anyone have a setting for these headphones in steeeldeties gg?
If the Nova 1 is $45, would you go that over the Recon 500 at $50?
Should I buy these or hyper x cloud stinger 2?
Hey man new here and enjoying the content just finished the nova 7 wireless video. I’m leaning towards that option, but if you had to choose a head set for first person shooters (footsteps) what would you go for?
For under $200 the Nova 7 is great. I do still really enjoy the Stealth 700 G2 Max though. I think that headset flies under the radar a bit, but it seriously sounds great.
@@GadgetryTech I haven’t seen you’re video on that, I’ll take a look thank you man.
I'm not an expert at all, but I definitely agree with Joe. I love my Nova 7X and Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max. It gets extremely overlooked
@@ryanspartan7853 probably because it's Turtle Beach. The brand that most of the time has glaring quality control issues.
I had bad experiences with the products in the 360 days and I've recently had issues with their Recon controller. To convince me to get anything TB is gonna be hard. The current wireless headsets around though (that work on all platforms) aren't too solid. It's either gonna be the Gen 2 Max or the Nova 7x for me. I cannot find an Arctis 7x in stock anywhere at the previous price.
@@dave93x Yea I definitely understand having issues in the past. Maybe the Nova 7x might be the way to go for you? It's an all-around great headset. Not as much bass (or footsteps) as the MAX though.
For gaming, this or hyper x cloud 2 HP model?
Bought it about a month ago and now only the left side works, there’s no sound coming out of the right side. I’m honestly disappointed because I like these headphones, I find them comfortable and I use it on my switch to play Zelda, so the price was perfect but now I’m not sure if they’re even worth it. I don’t know if maybe there’s an issue with the cable or the port.
was really hyped when DETACHABLE CABLE!!!! but then you said it's bad for music
You are not an audiophile and could not tell the difference between a affordable set of headphones and expensive. It plays music just fine. Audiophiles are like wine tasters. I can not tell apart expensive and cheap wine.
@@satinkuti5875 i was talking that he said that the vocals are quieter than rest, i can tell a difference in a song in which only difference is a tad bit quieter vocals, i want my music to always stay the same exactly as i remembered it, i can tell you exactly what instrument is on what side in a Beatels song, i need every detail of a song to stay exactly the same, even a difference of Music Video / Not Music Video, have a huge difference in the sound of the music
Now STFU, i can have my preference, and i ain't gonna waste money to see if it fits me
im that so called "audiophile" in search for budget gaming headset for console gaming.
bro that treble spike on the graph is scary
also does the nova 1 have crosstalk issues like the arctis 1 / arctis prime? i previously purchase both arctis 1 and prime. both headset have crosstalk issues when u press mute the mic, sound from your desktop / console is still picked up by the microphone even tho i already muted it.
Unfortunately that’s a common issue with all wired gaming headsets with exception to some models from Sennheiser/EPOS. The mic shares a common ground with the speakers due to how the TRRS cable works, so you get echos. Some headsets are worse than others. Xbox wired headset is one of the worst.
The headphone measuring rig I have isn’t perfect for treble measurements but it’s okay. These are definitely darker sounding than the Prime which was way over the top for me.
Based on what you’re saying I think you may like the Recon 500 a little more.
Just bought them in white
This is probably a dumb question, but these will work on a TV just fine, correct? I know I may have to buy a cord extension to make it longer so I don't have to sit right in front of the TV, but since obviously their wireless Arctis 7P+ headphones I have for my PS5 don't work on TVs, I would like to get a pair of headphones that I can use for my TV at some point.
Surely sound terrible
hey this pair better logitack 355 or 435?
I thought about getting these as as a backup, but the Stealth 700 Max has improved so much with firmware updates and I switch between those and the Epos H6Pros depending on how I feel. I doubt these would really touch either of those in sound quality, but if I happen to see these on sale the comfort factor may make me pull the trigger.
Genuine question, in what ways has the stealth 700 Max improved? Like in connection stability? I wanted to get them but I see reviews saying their connection is kinda iffy
New 700 Gen 2 max firmware update fixed a lot of power on bugs wheee the headset volume would be messed up, or would have connection issues to the dongle. The older one had some bugs at launch to but now it’s crazy stable and an awesome value.
@@evanraymond7888 Yup, everything Joe just said. The connection is rock solid, it doesn't shut down out of nowhere (yeah it used to do that and annoy me), the volume has been increased, and to my ear it seems like they widened the sound stage and positional audio works properly now. I love em.
@@infernaltim That’s amazing to hear, had the first gen of the Stealth 700 and had connection issues with them. They were my favorite headset of all time when it worked, but the issues got annoying so I returned them. Great stuff to hear about the new firmware
@@evanraymond7888 connection on the max is much better with updates, as is power on and Bluetooth behavior. One of the best for the money now
I currently have hyper x cloud alpha and the sound etc is pretty alright but it’s getting so uncomfortable after 1h or so and I always get a headset dent so I hope those will be a bit better even though they’re cheaper
so how these headphones that you get bought?
Just saw your video today after I bought a pair of novas was able to buy a new Arctis nova 1 for 30$ do you think with a 30$ price point it is better then every headset you reviewed in the last portion of your video ?
at 30$ its definately the best budget headset you can buy with that money no doubt
I wish you'd done a Dolby ATMOS EQ tune on Xbox!
Perhaps one day I can! I would lift the last two (treble) frequency bands by 1-2 dB. Lift 500hz by one, then the lowest two bands by 1-2 each and see if you like the sound. I'm only going off of memory though
can u pls make a video that is steelseries arctis nova 3 next because i am deciding on if i should get the Nova 1's or Nova 3's
Yes that one is coming!
Are Logitech G Pro X Wired worth than these?
which is better this one or the arctic prime?
I been thinking what to get, Arctis 3 or this Arctis Nova 1. Which is better?
Arctic 3s are better
How about the elephant in the room, who is constantly overshadowed by it's H6 PRO super older brother, the EPOS drop H3X?
I would love to see how the H3X stacks up against it's budget headset competitors, the Arctis nova 1 and turtle beach recon 500.
H3X is a bit of miss for me but I’ll try to include coverage on it when I can. I wast a huge fan of the sound
@@GadgetryTech looking forward to your coverage on the H3X. I held off from getting it for my teenage son until I see some detailed reviews on it.
P.s., what do you prefer, nova 1 or H3X as a budget gaming headset?
I need some help deciding if I should get the arctis 3s or the nova 1s
Get the 3 if you can benefit from tuning the EQ via USB on your computer. If you are just plugging into a console controller there’s very little difference.
I have the Arctis 3. Is the Nova 1x worth the upgrade at all? Currently only $50
na
$139 in Australia
We have the "Arctis 1 Wireless for Xbox" for kiddo and I'm hoping they make an "Arctis Nova 1X Wireless" that works on everything so that we can upgrade. Arctis 1's are not comfortable and the mic is always in the way when they're not being used. The more expensive models seem like they'll end up broken in the hands of a kid, so that's out of the question.
For sure! A 1X wireless would be an amazing deal. For now the best one value is the 7X wireless from SS, or the new 600 Gen 2 USB Xbox edition. That one has a really sensitive mic but works on everything for a good price.
@@GadgetryTech I use a Nova 7X myself and like it a lot. Could use a bit more cushion like some of the older models, though. I also have the Arctis 7 dedicated to PC use (I like the hardware chat-mix instead of having to rely on Sonar). For Xbox I used to use the 9X and before that the older 7X (which I should have kept instead of upgrading to the 9X). Was just about to go for the 7X+ when the Novas came out :)
Not a fan of the Turtle Beach headsets but for the kiddo it might make more sense.
Why do they have separate Xbox and ps versions
wow good video
I actually just got these two days ago and they are trash.. can't even hear my self speak... My teammates constantly hear themselves echoed... I tried everything and nothing worked so I literally just thru them in the trash.. 60 Right out the window.. going back to the 3-D pulse headphones..
falta una prueba respirando en el microfono, porfavor
this or hyperx cloud 2
I’m kind of disappointed in the Arctis Nova One, everything basically work except the mic, please tell me how you got it to work.
The same thing happens to me
what’s best headset for fps competitive under 100$
@LuckySeven50507 ARE they better than cloud 2 ? beacuse I had one before and I couldn't hear well footsteps
So right now, in my country these 3 have the exact same price, which one should i get?

- steelseries arctics prime

Corsair HS65 Surround OR Arctis Nova 1? Which one is good?
Both are good! I'm working on my H65 review soon
How cuarge
Has anyone felt that the voice was unbalanced and was coming from right earcup more in this video?
I had some early setup issues w the new studio here so my audio was a little off. New videos shouldn't do that any more.
Mic is a lot better than arctis 7 and 9
I can use it on xbox series s?
What Gamig Headset has the best Raw and Unedited Microphone Quality?
Typically Corsair Virtuoso XT and HS80. Sennheiser/EPOS are up there as well.
@@GadgetryTech What about budget gaming headset?
dumb question, what is the benefit of detachable cord ?
if something goes wrong with the cable, then you can easily replace it with a new one
Anyone else having issues with their mic? Mine won't record audio at all and the sound started buzzing as well.
Hey! I’m dealing with issues too my mic just isn’t picking up audio at all and just isn’t working. We’re you able to fix it?
Getting static with mine, straight out the box. Updated every single 'Audio' and 'Sound' Driver on my PC, blew into the sockets, tried other sockets, same issue all round.
Never had this problem with any other headset.
Yall need to learn to put the cable in properly. They even gave you instructions on the box 🤦🏻♂️

Do I know why my voice keeps cutting out?
I was pretty disappointed in the Nova Pro Wired. I know you loved it but I had so many problems. But anyway, that has nothing to do with this video. This seems like a pretty great value for $60. Would be awesome for kids, just plug into any controller or Nintendo Switch, good to go.
That really stinks to hear about the Pro Wired! Can you email me letting me know what you ran into? Mine worked fine. Were you having issues w Sonar or the headset itself? joe@gadegtrytech
Why won’t the microphone work on mine the audio is utter ass and I can’t even speak out of it
Steel series has no competition except for maybe Logitech. If a brand believes in a head rest suspended thing than they are competition. Comfortability is the top priority.
How dare you say that trashy Logitech competes with steelseries?
