good mash up. But no one seems to adding , the riff is written by Bowie guitarist Carlos Alomar. And before playing with Bowie, Alomar was playing with ,,,,, you guessed it.
Bowie was no doubt influenced by James' stuff when recording the bulk of 'Young Americans'. Who wasn't? James returned the favor by nicking Bowie's tune, as his career had just started its decline. The album after, 'Body Heat' was his last big chart entry until the mid-80s. Love them both equally. JB's most sampled artist for a reason.
Was Lucky to see and meet both of them. Cleveland was a BIG music city and they both came to Cleveland many times. David's first U.S. Concert was in Cleveland, Great days, Great Music and great times. I was a drummer in a good band and that helped. The girls loved to party and we did many times. Not like now " Oh if you touch me I will call the police" Back then it was " "Where can we go and party" Miss those days.
Yes indeed, 'Back in the day', I also was a part of that Cleveland music scene, though not until the late seventies/early eighties. My older sister attended that Bowie show, at Public Hall, I believe. Great memories of shows at the Allen theater, and Music Hall, as well as some in Akron, during that 'New Wave' era. That was certainly before a more conventional 'family man' lifestyle happened. Recalling many of the bands at the time, and their varying degrees of success on more than local level. Too many to count, methinks. Ah well, I would have to agree with Ian Hunter, at least on that one, that "Cleveland Rocks", though I would add that the rest of N.E. Ohio also had quite a bit a talent worth remembering...
The Goddityfathers, 'taches to Mashes, Get Up I Feel Like Being A Tin Machine, Get Up Offa That Thing (Try To Release Under Pressure), and dare I say.... Zigga Stardust....no I daren't!
EXCELLENT MASH AND VIDEO TOO!!!
Never knew Bowie appeared on Soul Train. Interesting.
He was the 2nd white singer to appear, behind Elton John.
some whites did'nt want him to do it at the time, but he said fuck it im gonna perform!
usc trojans1987
Elton wasn’t the first. That would be Gino Vannelli.
Yep..twice for Fame and Golden Years ✨️. Teena Marie too in 80
@@Cablecol K.C & Sunshine Band and Average White Band appeared before Teena Marie. AWB and Teena were R&B artists.
people when James Brown sampled others once in his life: 😡😧
people when others sampling him 1837389193 times: 🥰😘
Sounds of Bowie and James Brown prepping heaven for all of us, and I'm ready "GOOD GOD".
First time I have heard of this. Two of the best. Bowie & Brown.

This is a really good mashup. If I didn`t knew I might think I had think it should have been like that. The riff made by Carlos Alomar is awesome.

Who wrote the song?
Ted Kamprad , James Brown wrote this similar sounding riff maybe 6 months after David Bowie put out Fame.

“Fame” was written by Carlos Alomar, David Bowie, and John Lennon.
Brings new meaning to the phrase "plastic soul"!
Actually JB beat you to the punch with this mashup.
Also check out the similarity between the JB's The Grunt and The Isley Brothers "keep on doing"!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
thanks Redhowz
Game lick was note for note stolen from JB.
Wrong!
This sound was created by James Brown. James Brown is not copying, he is the source! He created funk!!
