    "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for life". I have read numerous books and watched numerous "tutorial" videos on the subject of abstract painting. Your 29 min video is the most well thought out and comprehensive instruction I have witnessed to date. Absolutely brilliant! and I offer you my sincere gratitude for sharing.

      Sorry if I'm slow to reply - some of my comments go to spam and I don't find them until later (??) You can add hanging hardware to the back of a board to hang. You can also build a "cradle" around the board to give it a deep, gallery-wrapped look.

I want the texture to highlight certain parts of the pony. Would I draw it with pencil, add the texture medium in the places where I want, and then paint? Or can I get coloured texture medium stuff?

    Do you sell your paintings when you use acrylic board or did you just use this for the demo? It seems that a hard surface is necessary for modeling paste, right? If you sell the acrylic board painting, would you sell it with a frame or as is? Thanks.

    • @Cheryl64014
      @Cheryl64014 6 лет назад

      Patricia Roshaven - No, you do not need a hard surface for modeling paste. (You could have easily Googled that yourself.) And what do you care if she sells her art on acrylic board, canvas, or plywood? When you create your own paintings, you can sell yours on anything you'd care to. As for your framing question, you can Google that, too.

      I didn't think it was all that blurry plus I was able to see what she used which is more important to me than anything else. I enjoyed the video and it gave great tips. Keep making your videos just the way you are, for the beginners your not trying to replicate the same exact painting... she's just explaining the process and from there you should use your own colors. Or try to replicate what shes doing but trust me it will look different. Everyone has their own style and I feel she got her message across. I subscribed and liked even though I prefer watercolors I do have a large range of winsor and newton professional acrylics with Golden matte gel and Utrecht modeling paste and various gloss/satin/matte finishes from Liqutex.

    I love Golden products, I prefer winsor and newton professional acrylics but for gels and modeling paste ill switch between Utrecht and Liquitex... also Liquitex has good gel mediums along with good pouring mediums and finishes. Usually ill purchase from dickblick.com or Utrecht.com. unless Micheals has the 60% off any single item. That's when ill get the good expensive stuff :) some dont realize the money artist (be it beginner or master artist) spend in order to create such fine works of art... heck just 25 small sheets of real Gold leaf from johnnealbook.com costs 60 bucks. People think I'm crazy when i save scraps of gold leaf lol but I'm not using speedball here and even the gesso I use for raised gilding isnt cheap. Jerry Tesslers line of raised and flat adhesive, or my all time favorite instacoil. Please keep the videos coming as it gives great inspiration to those of us who need it. Especially when i did portraits and now im getting into abstract.

    Why do you add water to your mediums? This breaks down the molecular make up of the mediums and paints. Your paintings won’t last as long by adding the water. Try a polymer or another type of extender instead.

    • @AbstractARTpaintings
      @AbstractARTpaintings  6 лет назад

      Hi Ana - I live in very dry climate and find just a bit of water helps keep things fluid, but you are correct. Too much water will break paint/mediums down and cause a mess (been there, done that!). Thanks for watching!

    • @Cheryl64014
      @Cheryl64014 6 лет назад +1

      Ana Contreras - Next time, do your research before you ask a question in a rude and arrogant way. According to several acrylic paint manufacturers, depending on their brand, anywhere from 30% to under 50% water can be added without affecting the polymers and the integrity of the painting. Geeze, the trolls are out tonight.
