I bought this guitar from a guy that doesn't play it anymore, It was a 2007 version of the guitar and the best thing about it is that back in the day it came with a hardcase specially made for the special 2. The guitar is surprisingly good, I even used the guitar to play a show once. I down tuned it to E flat and played cannibal corpse live.
When did you start playing? Because this pack is already in my 2004 epiphone catalog which I currently have in my other hand. Might be in earlier catalogs aswel. Ok the tuner is now a clip on thing instead of a small plug in box. And the amp is probably upgraded..it even came with an instructional video.
Epiphone really needs to do something about that amp. I bought this pack 5 years ago, sounds so bad I stopped trying to learn guitar. Until my buddy brought his little fender champ 20 over. Night and day difference. Kept the LP trash canned the electar ran to local guitar store and purchased a orange crush 20. Couldn't be happier. My gear has had a few upgrades since then. But that amp almost ruined guitar for me.
Have to join with others who say that amp sounds very bad. You cant undertsand how bad amp is from videos, because there players are usually talented ones and their playing skill hides it somehow. For saving money its better idea to buy Epiphone Les Paul Special II guitar and different amp separately. If you got better amp you never want to use that orginal Electra crap any more.
I have Special ve walnut, i don't like the clean sound, it sounds "ehhh" exactly like 2:48 on first 4-5 fret not like Studio version which is more warm and thicker. The plus point is the build quality and weight. Sold it and went for the Studio version.
Like some people said, this amp is garbage. I got a real Marshall practice amp. I only play at home, and don’t need a huge amp, but this small amp it comes with has such a bad tone range. it is not good for the long term and you should get a better amp soon if you start out with this

Oh wow! I wish something like this existed when I was getting started playing guitar.

I guess I’m pretty lucky cause I’m getting an electric guitar soon and this seems like a pretty good deal only coming in a 219$ on sweet water

I like the badness of the amp, it just adds to the uniqueness!

The guitar is not bad, but that amp sucks a lot, But considering who it's meant for, that is a guitarist at the very beginning, that's fine
Is that a LP special ii or special i?
👁👁 or 👁?
I connected one end of the wire to the guitar and the other end to the amplifier. it doesn't make a sound?
electricity?

The new orange-ish neck looks so ugly. Bring back old dark wood.
