At 2:50, playing at 0.5 speed, you can see Buakaw raising his hand to indicate an apology for the slightly excessive kick. Following that, Saenchai waves his hand to encourage Buakaw to continue. I love this fight; they are legends!
😂😂😂 of course, this is a semi-choreographed flow fight. They are in it to grab the money, do a show, don't injury themselves and not do a real fight. I mean, this is a semi-real fight and the result was so obviously obvious, that in a real fight, Buakaw would smash Saenchai. The weight/power difference is just to much, and the technique difference is not enough to compensate for the power difference. Plus they are both super defensive about not having gloves. With 10oz gloves, Saenchai might be a little more dangerous and balance things out a bit more. But still, Buakaw is just to big for Saenchai
@@GilHighTechSilva I thought that was the case but then saw the rest of the fight and saw that buakaw was clearly not pulling any punches then I realized the reason he apologized is because for thais the 1st round for feeling out and its tradition to not go all out in the 1st
Buakaw's athleticism, strength, and conditioning are absolutely unreal. I think a lot of people don't realize just how high level this match was. It's crazy how fit and high-level both of these guys still are at their age. Most fighters would have become mere shells of their former selves long before reaching such an age, and long before having as many fights as either of them has.
Saenchai looked older than Buakaw in this fight but he is actually only 2 years older. You have to give credit to Buakaw for staying in amazing shape into his 40s.
Dude I gotta say if they were same weight class I think it wouldn’t have been hard for senchai to win so many close calls if he was an inch taller or reach was farther .
Bruh they werent even gigjting for real. You didnt see them holding back their strikes? Never seen meaythai playfights? The thai version of wwe? They used to put that kind of fights while there is a break between prelims and maincard. To fill the brake. Seanchai and buakaw did exactly that kind of fighting right here
Big respect for these two legends! As I know Buakaw for much longer and have recently trained in Buakaw's Village, I'm very honored to see him train with my own eyes! It was a pleasure and I will never forget. I love Buakaw hard work, spirit and dedication. Such an inspiration!
When Bruce Lee said "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times," I'm pretty sure he was talking about Buakaw. The man is so good with the basics that it's first nature to him. Seeing how he moves in his 40s, rest assured he'll be able to throw the same kicks at the same speed in his 50s
yes, Buakaw and Saenchai are legends, but they are also good friends, with hilarious YT videos, such as the video which shows them singing together, and then Buakaw accidentally hit Saenchai's forehead with microphone. I couldn't stop laughing after watching that video. 😂😂😂
@@Ziltch-Nada7200 what people (and my self) love to see, is a fight that has no hatred and jealousy in the ring. The fight above is a testament that a pro fighter can still hold respect, sportmanship & befriend with each other even after the fight ends.
The amount of respect those two have for each other, its hard not to go all out. Congrats to both for being champons, and giving all the fan's a great fight.
Saenchai is too smart for his own good, he was able to resist the urge to catch and sweep where as Buakaw got away with FOUR without a point being deducted, and when you see the R5 sweep by S. it hits different. Both guys held back the first few rounds but the size of Buakaw is just too much for such a LEGENDARY skill level. Huge props to both for stepping in to the ring, and to BKFC for putting an epic fight like this on. A real treat to watch.
As a martial artist, no holds barred, it could be seen as a better thing to act in instinct from training. It's honestly seen as a very good thing and what you try to achieve in training martial arts. In a fight with rules though, it's just watering it down. I would have loved to see sweeps included and a full Thai ruleset without the gloves, sweeps are honestly the most beautiful part of Muai Thai because of hot it plays in with clinches and taking advantage of an opponents mistakes or openings.
Buakaw showing why his sheer pressure will remain unmatched.. an Absolute Specimen even beyond age 40, im a little disappointed that they didn’t allow sweeps, throws, Saenchai definitely excels in those.. such a fun match regardless..
Sweeps and throws are my favorite aspect of MT and it's BS they didn't allow it, making for a more bloodier match potentially, more chance of a KO, so farang of them...
I have watched these two legends fight for the last 20 years. This was a beautiful homage to the sport. If you know them it is obvious they were not trying to hurt each other, but it was still a beautiful exhibition like match. Thanks to both of them for all they have given us through the years. Khob khun krap.
true.. I was watched these guys many years. and you clearly can see it this fight, there was NO "fire" in their eyes. In my opinion they just went to this fight to earn money. But that was nice and "friendly" fight. I am a big fan of Buakaw, but i like Saenchai too
Totalmente d acuerdo con el comentario, que no fueron a joderse se nota, casi todo muy controlado y los puñetazos a la cara muy contados. Me alegro por ellos. El que quiera ver sangre que se corte un brazo
Saenchai has always been my favorite. Even knowing this was just going to be an exhibition, its a little sad to see him look his age. Buakaw, however, still looks like a monster. It's clear how much he was holding back out of respect. This fight really came ten years too late.
Have to admit... Just reading that they fought gave me shivers. I was almost too hesitant to watch this. Geez... Legends...I've seen them fight before and you can see the hesitation and respect they have for each other. They also clearly want a clean fight. They just move differently in this match. Can't imagine how it felt for both of them throughout this match... Respect!
I can defiantly see they are holding back defiantly saenchai he’s usually a dam tornado. But man I never thought I would see the day these two went at it. Crazy
That was a crazy good fight ! Respect to both of them but my heart goes out to Saenchai for his bravery and incredible fighting spirit. The height difference in this weight class is huge. And Buakaw did not slow down or give him an inch. I also love the round ring set up. Looking forward to seeing how this event grows.
Buakaw didn't use his full power 100%. He had the opportunity to KO Saenchai many times but he chose not to and Saenchai also said that Buakaw had to lose 10 kg for this fight. This is why Saenchai doesn't want anyone to think that Buakaw won just because he was bigger.
Two legends in the fight space. Absolutely awesome to see them face each other. I've seen so many fights these two men have fought and they're skill, determination, love of the sport and country, is something we need more of in fighters.
These guys should be multi-milionaires like the UFC champs. Great warriors and true martial ARTISTS. Thank you Buakaw and Sanchai for this poetry in motion!
This fight is testament to the Isaan spirit or more broadly, Thai culture. These two legends not only fought with obvious intent, but being that they are real friends in real life that that all went out the window when the fight started. They touched gloves at the beginning and end of each round and any time the fight was stopped and restarted. You gotta respect the absolute warrior in both guys, we’re lucky to be able to witness history❤
Feel kinda sad for Scenchai… By the look of Scenchai’s face, he knew he was gonna lose, but he showed up for BKFC and this LEGENDARY FIGHT!!! ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR TWO MUAY THAI LEGENDS!!! LET’S GOOOOO!!!
At 2:50 you can see in the replay how Buakaw instinctively raised his hand to signal an apology after he landed that head kick. He truly didn’t wanna hurt his friend. Edit: I just want to clarify. I am NOT saying the fight was rigged or fake. The fight was very real. I was just pointing out how Buakaw was still subconsciously holding back because they are both close friends in real life. It shows the humanity of Buakaw and how loyal he is as a friend.
A few moments where they let each other have it, but overall you can see the mutual respect . Buakaw seems like the little brother in this debacle lol definitely a highly technical and skilled fight between two masters . Much respect. Definitely a favorite
But you can see they are not going full on each other. Understand but I would be fun to see, not a single real punch thrown to the face. 5rounds of hard sparring it looks like
@@pierreb563Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one noticed that, there are some strikes that don't really land (intentionally, and it was counted?). But still, it is entertaining seeing them in a match. I love both these two legends. Couldn't wait for Buakaw's next fight with Manny Pacquiao. 🇹🇭❤️🇵🇭
I honestly believe Baukaw was taking it easy on Saenchai. You can tell they really respect each other. But this ended the best way it could. Baukaw didn't really hurt Saenchai (and he totally could have) but won the fight.
The last thing Saenchai wanted to do is actually escalate this into something serious... Just saying. Yhea they both held back, and even though Saenchai is technically a better fighter, he would stand very little chance if this had been a serious bout. Baukaw is almost as good, quite a bit bigger, stronger, and all-around tougher. That dude is still a freaking monster.

To be honest, the fight was kind of stacked against Saenchai. Buakaw is a bit younger, a bit taller and weighs a lot more than Saenchai. However, we all know Saenchai has never had a problem taking down guys bigger than him in the past because he always outsmarted and outskilled them. Until he faced an equally smart and skillful fighter that is Buakaw. Nevertheless, if a rematch were to happen, I still wouldn’t bet the results to be the same. They went surprisingly hard. Thought this would be more of an exhibition but they actually fought although they were obviously holding back still entertaining
Looked like Buakaw held back a lot, especially on the punches. You see it in the replays he doesnt torque or len in to it and quite a few times there is clear opening and he doesnt take it. You also see him throwing sloppy kicks without any setup. Although they did go at it a few times which was surprising. All in all i wish this charade never happened, I much more enjoy their sparring videos and eternal question who would win if they where both in their prime

A monumental display of Muay Thai skill by two legends. Impressive how they can perform with such intensity meanwhile keeping it respectful and controlled. It’s obvious that they’re not going 100% just by looking at the low volume of head punches thrown.
Good performance from both. Haven't expected them to go so hard. Both didn't spare each other. Yet, Buakaw swept Saenchai several times against the rules and still won. Saenchai is a beast just for surviving Buakaw's brutal strikes. Sadly, Saenchai couldn't make full use of his repertoire, possibly because he had too much respect for Buakaw's dangerous attacks.

Buakaw and Saenchai are long time best friends, Im utterly shocked they're fighting each other. Thats like Mario and Luigi in a bare knuckle brawl. BKFC must have paid them a million each because these two are legends in the sport and would put azzes in seats for sure in Asia. Although they are going extremely conservative on the punches and being super respectful to each other. It looks like a typical sparring session in the gym for them two. Kicks are nothing, they can eat them all day long. Im glad Buakaw is getting paid though, he is literally the Mike Tyson of Asia, his promoter treated him like a literal slave and paid him literal pennies for 70% of his fighting career until he finally left his promoter.
Yeah, it definitely looked like they didn't really want to hurt each other . Baukaw held back on the boxing exchanges , and senchai was holding back his elbows .
It feels a bit odd to see Saenchai lose like this. However in more "thai style" oriented fights(which despite being special rules this was) Saenchai's lack of physicality against fellow thai's typically is the deciding factor. And that isn't due to lack of effort, he's as tough as they come, more of a result of his stature. Regardless he is still a master of finesse but against someone also highly skilled and bigger in Buakaw the result wasn't too surprising. Either way i both loved and hated watching to of my faves duke it out. Respect always to them both and i hope they got PAID !!
Saenchai lack of physicality? Have you seen his matches against Nong-O? Saenchai was a beast in his prime and used to throw people around in clinches and his knees and elbows destroyed opponents. That was all before he became show fighter
Yes thats true but buakaw is in really good shape and weighs 22 pounds more and he is no slouch and know all of saenchai's tricks after sparring with him for a LONG time. And this isnt a real fight so i wont be surprised to see a rematch where Buakaw is letting Saenchai do the work so Saenchai get the same score in the 2nd fight while they both laugh all the way to the bank....@@a.k2156
i specified in my comment, by "lack of physicality" i mean his LITERAL lack of stature.. not his willingness to be physical. To pretend he isn't disadvantage in some aspects(namely the clinch as we saw in this fight and often in his old stadium bouts) would be disingenuous @@a.k2156

We know both these guys have sparred in the past and we expected this to be nothing more than a sparring exhibition. But what we got here was a full on fight.
This was a sparring match.
@@GilHighTechSilva I thought that was the case but then saw the rest of the fight and saw that buakaw was clearly not pulling any punches then I realized the reason he apologized is because for thais the 1st round for feeling out and its tradition to not go all out in the 1st
nice catch. i only noticed buakaw raising his hand at first
No doubt ,but isnt respect the most valuable thing :)
I’ve watched enough matches from these 2 to know that they held back like crazy in this one. Couldn’t go all out when you fight your best friend.
One more thing Saenchai has broken his index finger in second roudn therefore his performance went down due to injury.
Seanchai and buakaw did exactly that kind of fighting right here
Even in slow motion it is really fast 😂😂

The amount of respect those two have for each other, its hard not to go all out. Congrats to both for being champons, and giving all the fan's a great fight.
I think the control shows a next level of expertise and respect, crazy control
Saenchai is too smart for his own good, he was able to resist the urge to catch and sweep where as Buakaw got away with FOUR without a point being deducted, and when you see the R5 sweep by S. it hits different.
Both guys held back the first few rounds but the size of Buakaw is just too much for such a LEGENDARY skill level.
Huge props to both for stepping in to the ring, and to BKFC for putting an epic fight like this on. A real treat to watch.
Hard to watch a legend in saenchai lose but

As a martial artist, no holds barred, it could be seen as a better thing to act in instinct from training. It's honestly seen as a very good thing and what you try to achieve in training martial arts. In a fight with rules though, it's just watering it down. I would have loved to see sweeps included and a full Thai ruleset without the gloves, sweeps are honestly the most beautiful part of Muai Thai because of hot it plays in with clinches and taking advantage of an opponents mistakes or openings.
@@locohomicida3348 They are both legendary fighters, I follow both of them, but Sancei needs to retire now, my friend.

That spinning heel kick buakaw threw in the 4th round was very close to taking saenchai's head off though
true.. I was watched these guys many years. and you clearly can see it this fight, there was NO "fire" in their eyes. In my opinion they just went to this fight to earn money. But that was nice and "friendly" fight. I am a big fan of Buakaw, but i like Saenchai too

Saenchai has always been my favorite. Even knowing this was just going to be an exhibition, its a little sad to see him look his age. Buakaw, however, still looks like a monster. It's clear how much he was holding back out of respect. This fight really came ten years too late.
they were different categories so they had to make special rules to "make it fair".
I think they succeeded in this, was great to watch, wasn't it?

They are like really really good friends, yhey never go for the kill against each other
This is a real fight. I'm in Thailand, I know.
This is not just an exhibition they respect each other by took it to be a real fight and back to be friends after the match
Respect!
Same, I had to click but didn’t know if I’d wanna see it. I’d have rather seen them with gloves in a traditional match.

Buakaw looks at least 2 weight classes higher!!

To be honest, the fight was kind of stacked against Saenchai. Buakaw is a bit younger, a bit taller and weighs a lot more than Saenchai. However, we all know Saenchai has never had a problem taking down guys bigger than him in the past because he always outsmarted and outskilled them. Legends!! Wow!! BKFC made an awesome decision to feature Muay Thai in BKFC!
Buakaw se ha contenido mucho, podría haberle hecho mucho daño, ha sido un espectáculo poder ver esta pelea de las dos grandes leyendas del Muay thai . Mis respetos
yes, Buakaw and Saenchai are legends, but they are also good friends, with hilarious YT videos, such as the video which shows them singing together, and then Buakaw accidentally hit Saenchai's forehead with microphone. I couldn't stop laughing after watching that video. 😂😂😂
how many freaking cut n paste you have to do on this?!
No killer instinct in this fight...
Just friends sparring
I see sparring and cashing cheques. They both deserve paydays.
Yeah, it definitely looked like they didn't really want to hurt each other .
Baukaw held back on the boxing exchanges , and senchai was holding back his elbows .
คือความทรงจำของแฟนมวย พวกคุณคือตำนาน
Yeah they also did’t punch each other in the face.
Senchai is artis, Buakaw is monster, both of them are champions ❤
I love how respectful those two handled each other. It really shows that they are friends outside the ring.
แสนชัยนิ้วหัก
And you can see his age. It is amazing Saenchai can still do it
i specified in my comment, by "lack of physicality" i mean his LITERAL lack of stature.. not his willingness to be physical. To pretend he isn't disadvantage in some aspects(namely the clinch as we saw in this fight and often in his old stadium bouts) would be disingenuous @@a.k2156
40+ years old both fighters. Respect to you 2. Always the best in their own weight classes
It's obvious they are not going all out. All their punches and kicks are controlled. They're just having a friendly sparring in this fight.
Exatamente.
Wow, its so rare to see Saenchai serious. This is vastly different from him playing with his opponents before demolishing them
This is the first time ever to see the real fight of the two MuayThai legend fighters- Buawkaw & Saenchai.. bare knuckle fight with fierce, no more smiles just strong punches, hit, kicks, elbows .. and skills.
Mad respect !
They are really champions.
This is history
Size really makes a difference. Nice to see that they were not trying to hurt each other. Great exhibition match and a tribute to the spirit of Thai boxing.
They did'nt want to hurt each other . Two absolutely legends and Idols .Respect for both 4ever
We know both these guys have sparred in the past and we expected this to be nothing more than a sparring exhibition. But what we got here was a full on fight. These two men were determined to deal as much damage to the other without holding back. That’s probably because both of them know that the other can take it. You can feel the huge respect these warriors have for each other.
nah they were definitly both holding back
Very inaccurate, some good shots but definitely no intent to capitalise or finish. Nothing but respect though, still a beautiful display and hope they got paid well 🙏🏼
@@liorbeaugendre6935 idk thst spinning back kick Buk threw, if landed on his chin wouldve been lights out.
buakaw held back for sure!

I've wanted to see this fight for quite some time, but I could not derive any pleasure from it.
I greatly admire both of those amazing Fighters and as a fan of both I have enjoyed watching their friendship, so every strike and kick made me wince, and by the end my heart was completely broken from seeing Buakaw break down and cry.
I am angry at myself for wanting to see this fight.
Both are past their prime hence why its not pleasurable

@@RUclips2Premuim-kz7ds Buakaw is still an absolute destroyer.
Love the sportmanship and honnor each other, Big Respect for Both 😊
I must admit it was difficult to watch these 2 legends at first slugging it out… but what a fight. I think this fight really showed Saenchai’s ability against a bigger and equally as skilled Buakaw. More over… the pressure from Buakaw is scary! What a privellege it is to get to watch such a fight!
@@user-te7qw2hj4u ok troll, guess you missed all those hooks and straight down the pipe shots... I agree with everything @gilbertleon3080

@@user-te7qw2hj4udon't bother, probably he never fought in his life, it's clear to anyone thats trained that this is a hard sparing with some theatrics mixed in it for good measure to please the untrained audience , they were both avoiding to hurt each other, I'm on the third round now and it's clear as day, and good for both of them, let them collect the paycheck and go home unharmed, both legends masters of the craft, they have given so much in the fight world, and still it was very entertaining.
@@tomatosauce7666 hmm.. is that really a good thing though? i'm a massive fan of both buakaw and saenchai.. and like you said, it was pretty obvious they were trying to avoid hurting each other. We all know they are both mates in real life and tbh that kinda detracts from the fight for me. Buakaw is most exciting to watch when he gets pissed and completely obliterates his opponent. This was just a spar between friends, and not something i'd pay big $$$ to watch. Feels almost a lil fake to a certain extent imo.
Big respect for BK for putting this fight together. The 2 greatest muay thai fighters going at it bare knuckled as muay thai should be!
Two of the greatest fighters of all time. Loved watching these friends stay true to their sport. Respect
the respectful sportsmanship to each other is precious.....the world needs this...!
I think Saencahi broke his left knuckles early on. Still kept fighting. What a legend! People have no idea ho insanely painful that is.
You think therefore you do not know
@@johnnysprocketzhe actually broke them

yea he was using that right elbow a lot instead
What a treat! Saenchai looked faster and more technical in the first 2 rounds but Buakaw clearly has a size and strength advantage (and seemingly an age advantage even though he's only 2 years younger). And yes I realise neither was really trying to hurt the other.
Uhm idk about more technical, buakaw technique is superb and he won the first Rd with it.
faster what saenchai kick easy predict by buakaw
Thats sad that short people are just loosers from when they got born. Like they really doesnt count as a man, because they are just weak. Im short.
