- This is the 1st episode of my backpacking journey from Egypt to Japan without flying.
In this episode, I finalize my preparations for the journey back home in Cairo, sort out necessary vaccinations, show you what I pack for long-term travel, and bid farewell to my family.
Together with my dad, we drive to the port town of Safaga where I take a cargo ferry across the Red Sea to Duba in Saudi Arabia. The ferry doesn't run on a schedule and only goes when enough cargo is loaded onto it.
I feel overwhelmed when I think how far my final destination is but the key is to take it step by step and enjoy the present.

ذهبنا برفقة والدي بالسيارة إلى مدينة سفاجا الساحلية، حيث أستقل عبارة بضائع عبر البحر الأحمر إلى ضبا في المملكة العربية السعودية. لا تعمل العبارة وفقًا لجدول زمني ولا تذهب إلا عندما يتم تحميل ما يكفي من البضائع عليها.
أشعر بالإرهاق عندما أفكر في مدى بعد وجهتي النهائية ولكن المفتاح هو أن أأخذها خطوة بخطوة وأستمتع بالحاضر.
