The One Where I Was Homeless (or so I thought..) | Egypt to Japan Without Flying | Ep. 2

- This is the 2nd episode of my backpacking journey from Egypt to Japan without flying.
In this episode, I arrive in Saudi Arabia after taking the ferry from Egypt and crossing the Red Sea. I try to figure things out upon arrival and get to the nearest town by hitchhiking.
Getting to the beautiful desert town of AlUla, I ask around for affordable accommodation but struggle to find anything reasonable. The area has a lot of touristic potential but not yet ready for backpackers. I was prepared to either sleep in a mosque or set up my tent in the desert and endure a cold night, however a local gentleman very kindly offered me to stay at his place.
The next day, I go on a tour to the ruins of Hegra, which was the 2nd most important city for Nabataeans after Petra. Other than interesting archaeology, the area's landscape is also stunning.

I'm loving your travel approach, Omar! Not many people would able to put themselves in these kinds of situations and find a positive outcome.
Thanks Chloe! I do believe when you put out positivity, the universe rewards you back with positive outcomes :)
