They didn't prop the motor and chassis at an angle for looks. That was how the altered drag cars were build back in the day. Its more of a retro drag show car than anything else. I like to see cars like that, so people in the sport now can see how things evolved.

You wouldn't need to see out of it, because everyone who can see that thing coming down the road IMMEDIATELY gets out of the way; hell even the roads themselves will unbend every turn for this car. It's a beast lol
I think a lot of it has to do with how the car hooks up. If you plan on hooking hard its all about the big sticky stinking tire over powering the HP/eng twist then something has to give so whatever you do ,dont use solid motor mounts or chain it down, as long as your boxed and dont go crazy u should be ok.
hey there. im lookin to swiss cheese my frame as well-not quite so radical, and install sleeves into the holes to keep it rigid. is this a safe thing to do to my chassis, or is it a death sentence for the car-28 model A-. maybe some one here could let m know!
isnt it just set higher so the top of the motor looks extremely high... if its because of "excess channeling".... well it wouldnt make sense at all cause the motor could still be set lower in the chassis... just need different motor mounts
It's easy...you BUILD it. Parts are plentiful, and even if they aren't.....that's where the D-I-Y ethos comes in. I'm sure someone offers a "turn-key" engine in that form, but where's the satisfaction in that?
Read up on the car. Not being rude either, its not a street car. More of a show and exhibition drag car. There is no radiator and/or cooling system. Not to mention the exhaust system, if you ever stood near the car you would realize how extremely loud this is. I'm stoked that the Shifters So Cal have helped get this car to pass tech and make a few runs. Now , all you Nay Sayers can eat crow !
Whats Gay about it? Are cars like Wild Willy Borschs Winged Express Gay? Is the Fuel altered cars like Pure Hell or Pure Heaven Gay? Do you even know what Fuel Altered's are ?!?!? Probably not. This car has recently made recent easy passes - turning low 11 second exhibition runs - and is EASILY capable of making a 10 second (if not high 9 second pass) . Pboogee is right in what he states.
optical illusion my @ss. Yes the body is channeled about 5-6" BUT the oilpan rail is also about 7" ABOVE the top of the frame, which puts the bottom of the pan about even with the frame like he said. Ain't no optical illusion about it.

Didn't think so, so what makes you think the owner of this car worries about driving "around corners"? If you care to learn something about the car,its builder, or Fuel Altereds of the sixties you might realize this famous cars legitimacy! Do some research before you decide to bash a legit car!

I have seen that car in a couple magazines, but it did it no justice. That is without a doubt one of my favorite builds.
