Missing our favourite restaurants but this will more than do in the meantime. Happy Sunday! 💕
Beef luc lac is Vietnamese dish, not Cambodia
Love your recipes Flo 😋
@@tomtran1 Who do you think cares???????
One of my favorite Cambodian dishes, 🤪 Cambodian here as well! We usually lay a bed of lettuce, and sliced tomatoes under alllll the beef. Loved eating it as a wrap with rice.
This is why yours is one of my favorite RUclips channels.
15 or 20 minutes of Flo and Dude makes a better week.
And I love the variety of Asian dishes you offer.....sort of a pan Asian “best of” channel for Asian food lovers.
This is one of my favorite recipes from my childhood! Great flavors and if you want to kick it up a notch, add a little bit of chicken soup base to your marinade. We love to serve it on top of the tomatoes, so it slightly softens them and absorbs the delicious beef marinade.
Now that's a really tasty looking meal. I like how Flo is so good at making delicious food that is healthy and easy to make. This exactly the type of cooking show I need for my lifestyle.
I love Luc Lac - especially with fresh summer tomatoes
I grew up having it with first a bed of green leaf lettuce, then thinly sliced asian tomatoes (plum tomatoes that aren’t fully red or ripe) and thinly sliced raw onions. The sauce is just fresh squeezed lime juice and finely cracked black pepper and grated garlic, no fish sauce. But you made it correct with the gravy, family secret recipe is to add ketchup! The Vietnamese version is cubed and fried without the gravy. Ours definitely is more comfort food level!
30 years ago, I saw the name is written like this in a Vietnamese restaurant menu "beef Look Luck" :-). I guess they have a hartime with the translation, literally it means "shaking" in Vietnamese. This dish is believed to be an adaptation of the French technique of sauteing the beef as well as the use of olive oil.
Their Cambodian Carpaccio is so tasty too Dude's reaction are so EPIC
I love cooking all the time. It’s the shopping that kicks my behind. I’m 64. Love your videos! 🙌
Rolling the lime just makes it easier to get all the juice because it softens it.
That beef looks so good.
This looks so delicious!! Even your cat is on board!! 😊
Flo, I love your videos! Your directions are so straight forward and clear, even I ( a novice cook) can understand them! Did I hear one of your cats in this video? I got up to see if my cats were ok and realized I must have been hearing a cat from your video! Lol! Anyway, thanks again for all the great recipes! I got my Chinese Homestyle cookbook the other day and made delicious beef and broccoli yesterday. Better than takeout!
It’s 9:30pm and now I’m hungry 🤤
So the reason to roll or gently heat the limes in the microwave (bring to room temp doesn't do anything) is the rolling, or the heating, causes the cell walls that hold all the juice to break open before you try to squeeze it. That means the juice is already flowing before you even cut it and it takes less work to get the juice out so you generally get more out of the lime.
The cat was hungry meow 😸
👍🏻I was going to make the same comment, but luckily I checked!- I always microwave my citrus (literally for 10-30 seconds maximum, AND roll it, to get more of the juice out!
Wow your recipe is really authentic! Props to you Flo! I love watching you and Dude!
I love the sounds of ur cat.Maybe she can smell the food.I’m an animal lover. For me they’re families.A blessed Sunday to all!Stay safe & well!God bless everyone🤗💕
It was dinner time for them. And yes, they are absolutely a part of our family.
OMG! My mouth is watering! I want, I want, I need, I need❤️
Thank you for making a cambodian dish from a Khmer :)
Looks amazingly easy. I’ll be making this one! Thank you.
This is my most favourite from Phnom penh I think I spent thousands in that restaurant all for the luklak.😆😆😂🤣🤣😆😂😆
When I go there they don't even ask me anymore 😆😆😂🤣🤣😆😂😆
I will try your recipe but I know their food is the best.
The only restaurant in Vancouver honestly worth spending money. If you come for dine in, don't park around there because it's more expensive than anywhere else in Vancouver, so just drive up on the next street a bit further and walk for a bit.
This looks awesome. I'll make it this week!!
Oh my goodness my mouth is watering right now. Looks delicious!! I love this dish. One of my childhood favorites 😋. I'm totally going to try your recipe since I have all the ingredients on hand 👍 Thank you!!
This is another delicious-looking recipe. I like that it looks easy to cook.
Oh my...Looks amazing!
simple recipe,great taste.thank you.💕
Flo&Dude, I so enjoy your vids, and really appreciate how much effort goes into producing them, thanks. The beef (the whole meal) looks delicious and makes me think about egg noodles, Keep up the great work. Peace.
thank you for making my fav dishes from one of my fav restaurants (wings and this dish). I love it with the egg too. definitely trying this! yummmmmmyyyy!
My family favorite dish. Always order that whenever we go to Asian restaurant that offers it on the menu. Love your Channel. Thanks
Made this dish for dinner, omg this is delicious and easy to make. Even better for lunch today. Will be making this often.. thanks Flo and Dude for sharing.
My mouth was watering watching dude eat this
Oh how yummy this looks!
Made this just last week! LOVE it. We lived in Phnom Phen 7 years and 3 of my kids are Khmer! Taste like home!
The traditional sauce served with this is black pepper and lime. Some restaurants in PP will simply serve black ground pepper in a sauce dish with a lime half others do the work for you and add some garlic and sugar to the sauce. The sauce you made is served with lots of dishes but I have never had it wit loc lac in Cambodia. I do see it in recipes for loc lac online, however.
Oops. Dude! More amazingness?! Yeah, every guy who watched this understands. LOL. Another great video/recipe.
Another amazing looking dish!
That does look good, those butane stoves work well, thanks Flo👌
I just made this. OMG!!! Is it ever good! WOW!!!
Dude is a lucky man being the taster wow that looks incredible over the rice and the salad and vinaigrette yumminess. Thank you Flo for another fabulous recipe. Have a blessed evening stay safe and healthy. ❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏
Oh dear that looks soooooo good! 😋 Dude and your kids are so lucky!!!
And I miss Phnom Penh too!! 😢
Ugh my childhood right there. I'm drooling
I am going to try this recipe! Looks yummy!
Thank you Flo.
You guys need to make Butter Beef from Phnom Penh next!!! ❤❤
I just made it and it tasts amazing ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks Flo 🤩🤩
Just had the luc lac for the first time today at phnom penh it was amazing! Wish I ordered one more to take back to the island with me 🤤
So gorgeous!

Looks so amazing
This looks so good! Will definitely try this recipe :)
Thank you I going to cook today
Looks amazing I’m making it this week for sure !
Awesome!
That looks delicious 😊
I always get this and the chicken wings. Can’t wait to make this at home.
Winner winner Penh beef luc lac dinner 👍
Made it tonight and it was incredible. The only thing I need to tinker with is the vinaigrette (i think my proportions were slightly off, i'll have to try again with more lime juice), but everything else was drool-worthy. Thank you!
This might be almost as good as the pepper beef. I really want to try that dressing! 👍
The best looking meal! I cook the same way too.
Looks very tasty
That looks delicious!! You are right about fish sauce- I do not like "fishy" fish, but fish sauce adds wonderful depth of flavor.
Ooh always a good time, when Flo is cooking... Hey dude, & family..+kitty's..
LOL! Thanks, Lisa!
Flo you did it again.....my mouth is watering for this dish. Great job of explaining everything and Dude nice job on the production . What is the brand of propane burner is that?
Aloha🤙🌺🧑🍳! Flo thank you very much for sharing, I made for dinner today my family and grand kids like it with your Asian fusion spaghetti noodles ( I used ground turkey that’s what we have and it’s yummie 😋. Btw I put choy sum boiled vegetable ( from your recipe too). Happy thanksgiving to you and your family 🤩🤙
Another yummy recipe, Flo! 😋😋 I have the idea for your next cookbook! 😉 It's a copycat cookbook where you do copycats of your favourite restaurant dishes! 😊😊
Delicious😍😍😍😍😍
Hello family, Flo that looks yummalicious, I am drooling. 🤤🤗💛
Thanks, Myrna! 👋🏼😘
Looks delicious. (Btw, youtube is out of control. 3 ad breaks in a 13 minute video!)
Wow I like That
Thank you.
I never had Cambodian food before. This recipe looks easy to make, I'll have to try it. Thank you for the recipe Flo and Dude for trying it. 😆
Some of it is very similar to Vietnamese cuisine. If you like Vietnamese, you’ll enjoy Cambodian.
I've never had Cambodian food either, but definitely want to try it out
My kind of beef. 🤗😎
Ooh! I love Luc Lac! Looks soo yummy.
See if I can get a flank steak. Must make this.
I hear your baby cats! ♥️
Hope you all are well. 😊
Yummy
omg I love this!!! do you have a recipe for butter beef? or the sauce for the butter beef?? I don't like cilantro but I love it in that sauce!
I Will try this with the flank steak looks yum, what other steak can you recommend that works well.
Looks fabulous darling,lol. Absolutely YUMMMMMMY
Can I go eat at your place....it looks so delicious oh my God!
Looks yummy what cut of meat are you using Flo
Miss this one
Like it when I was in phenom pehn
good
I've love fish sauce !!! I eat with everything the southern love there hot sauce I love my fish sauce !! Try putting fish sauce on spaghetti or lasagna just try it its awsome just like a few drops of fish sauce.
This is awsome I've in Vancouver and we have a phong phen in Chinatown literally have line ups there chicken wings omg there chicken wings 😋 crazy you made it exactly like that restaurant just without the fried egg !!! Do the chicken wings with lime !!!!
Yam😋😋😋
oh Yum! Need Smell-O-Vision
Weird..... at 9:50 you are searching meat then I hear a meow 🤣
Yummmmm! I doubt they have anything like that around her in Texas. Lol
I see you have had issues with limes in the past. To get a juicy one, look for the limes that are shiny, thin skinned without any texture to the outer skin. Most def juicy lime. Got this little tidbit from a gin and tonic drinker!!😛
Do you have a cat meowing? That looks good.
Indeed! Check out their channel: ruclips.net/channel/UC1IZDG4edDKMJrElHRg30jQ
How close is the the taste of this recipe to the dish at Phnom Penh?
Where did you get the jar that the red pepper is in?
All of the tools I use are listed in the description: geni.us/ClearVibeJar
When the pandemic is over and restaurants open again will you do restaurant tours to promote all the restaurants you missed?
Great idea!
During the pandemic I can't get flank steak for some reason. Can I substitute sirloin?
Where is written recipe? Could not find. Please and thank you
Written recipes are available to my patrons on Patreon, posted on Mondays. Link is in the description.
Thank you
Oh nice, thought it was Vietnamese at first as it looked exactly like the dishes they have pictures of on the menu at the local pho queen
There are a lot of similarities between the two cuisines.
Rolling a lime breaks down the interior cell walls of the lime making more juice available.
Can you please list the recipe down in the description?
There are other chefs that say “two teaspoons of soy sauce“ and manage to keep pouring and pouring. Not Flo!
What other cut of beef can I use?
Tenderloin, sirloin, strip loin... use a cut you like that’s tender and not tough.
12:33 nice backpedal Dude :-)
👍⭐💖
now i can have Phnom Penh beef luc lac without driving there
