I’ve always loved the chic apartments in Paris. It never felt authentic to try to bring this into the American suburbs… maybe parts of it. It just is so good in France.

Love this! It’s a style that speaks to me. I feel like I’m slightly more English than French, but have elements of both mixed with mid-century modern furnishings (not atomic though).

What a great introduction to modern French. What always holds me back from using applied moldings to create this look is how to figure out the pattern for the moldings that will achieve this architectural elements.

Mais oui! We're doing it. It was in one of the photos, but not mentioned - the Constance Guiset Vertigo Pendant. We are putting this in the center of the living room with wall moldings, wood floors. fireplace and mirror, CB2 Claude sofa, tulip coffee table, and italian side chairs. Wonderful video - you nailed this style.

Excellent advice,i love the break down of how to achieve this look. But if you have small rooms and low ceilings I just can't imagine that you will be able to successfully pull this off. Especially the crown mouldings and ceiling details. You need at least 10 feet tall ceilings to pull this look.

Thanks, I really Love this style, So many elements already exist in my home but now I have to buy a new sofa. Hahaha that should be a good thing but so often I make a change and the whole room falls apart! Thank goodness we have you.

A ranch with high ceilings that meet at all odd angles so symmetry is impossible. Can a similar look be effective? Millwork wouldn’t work, but maybe similar tensions of read and modern could create a similar look?

6:26 - 1820 settlers trekked in wagons that looked like this. Conservative women wore bonnets similar. I could not purchase that chair. Eeeeek!!!!
This will only be timeless if it suits your home and location. Otherwise it will be the next Tuscan/modern farmhouse that everyone is ripping out.
