My Sister is narcissistic and from a very young child she told extreme lies. She told our mum she was colour blind when she was not and also that she kept being taken to hospital from school.
As an adult she continued her lies, they seemed to give her a sense of power she even enjoyed it when she was found out . She has also accused an ex of being abusive to her when in fact it was her that was abusive and manipulating . Her reason to accuse him was he no longer wanted to be with her. Narcissistic people cant help but invent stories and lies to gain the feeling of power, they are also very good at creating enablers, that is a group of friends or family that thy convince they are the victim in any situation and get the enabler to help them keep up the lie even support it .”Evan Rachel Wood” reminds me a lot of my sister. Her manner and demeanor , the way she goes about things, right down to the same look on her face that I recognize on my sisters face. It is very sad but if Joe public cant recognize a narcissist they can quite easily become an enabler and innocent people can suffer greatly .I now have no contact with my sister ,it was the only way to safe myself

Until you get to know someone like this from the point of seeing the lies most people cannot even begin to understand how fraudulent their whole persona is and what could motivate someone to behave that way. They can’t even consider it.

Sadly, I've been surrounded by these people, from my parents to my younger sister and a couple of exes. It led to years of me being meek until I found out that THEY were the abusers who had gaslit me into believing that I was a problem since they'd shout, hit me, cry, and blame me for "hurting" them.
My sister once stole a CD from me and denied it, but I went in her room, found it, and she attacked me demanding for me to give it BACK because she likes the music more than I do and I am not a true alternative music fan--whatever the fuck that is. She then kept hitting me as I blocked her in my doorway and shoved her away before locking the door, she began kicking it and screaming, then not ten minutes later, she starts crying, hits herself a few times, calls her friend, and says that I beat her up and gave her a black eye.

@@judithflom6366 Well, the cycle of abuse often is hard to break out of even if your original abusers are no longer in the picture. I didn't know I was being abused, I just remember feeling like shit because I was "the bad kid" and parents are always right. This is why I couldn't identify abuse in two relationships, and when I finally did, it made future relationships MUCH happier.
Wood and the other accusers don't follow any patterns of abuse I've seen in my own experience or in support groups. Yet, the "experts" on abuse tell me that I know nothing about it. Gee, I don't know, I only have physical scars from it on top of deep-seated mental ones, but sure, I know nothing, and that's why I stand with Manson and ACTUAL victims.

I keep going back to Marilyn Manson was an extremely public figure that had videos, music, pictures, interviews etc that openly portrayed his interests in violence, sex, Natzi images, bondage, drugs etc before Evan met him. There is no way that at 18 to 19 years old, which is an adult, she had no idea who he was and what he was into. She openly started a relationship with him, she stayed in a relationship with him for years, she left him and then went BACK to him and got engaged.

Especially coz it's very clear she was rebelling her mother when dating Manson.
I think she took the concept of rebelling against her home taught religion from her mom to her Judais.
Seeing Manson's war against Fundamental Right Wing Christian America as inspiration but getting wrong messages from it, threw her own spin on it, but took the idea of the imagery which Mansom took some inspiration from mostly in a militant fashion way, utilized the fear that nazis evoke to make a point in what he was saying. But I think she took that nazi thing literally in her rebellion against her mom, a way which it was never meant to be from Manson.
I think now that she's older and a mother, she's ashamed of that chapter so she's trying to burn it down.
What I find interesting is that she clearly learned some artistic and film influences from Manson and she tries to adopt them as her own ideas or like she naturally found these interests on her own but deep inside she knows these things were something he showed her, and that reminds her of him and she hates that about him .
I think that's a big part of her attempt to destroy him.

I wouldn't necessarily call her an A-lister. She's been onscreen with A-listers, but she's not first choice nor the one who rakes in the money in Hollywood blockbusters. She's no Leo, Pacino, Hopkins, Streep, Winslet, Jolie, etc. Yes she's played the protagonist but like you said, it's been mainly in indie films or just films/projects that are forgotten. Her blaming MM for her past behavior and choices is a great way to get back on top at the expense of someone else. Let's blame MM so that I'm now taken more serious as a person and as an actor.

I'm undecided on this particular case as I haven't seen all the evidence, but what I have heard/learned is enough to make me pause judging & delve deeper into questioning & analyzing. I think your points about programming are not only fascinating, but extremely important- what kind of culture have our forebearers created & why & which parts do we now need to mull over & collectively decide to discard or continue?
One of those cultural norms we need to look at again is the one that encourages men to look at young, mid- late pubescent women as desirable partners- no matter the age of the men. And what roles do capital & power accumulation play? Entire industries are built on this once biologically sound view & it deeply affects every human on the planet in a decidedly unhealthy way at this stage of human/societal development. It's part of why ERW & others like her have their childhoods taken or drastically shortened & why men like MM (&JD to an extent) thought it was appropriate, or even normal since it is so encouraged, to engage in such emotionally fraught & experientially imbalanced relationships in the first place.

Exactly. I am not fully decided because I haven't seen all the evidence, I knew ah was a liar from the jump. Ibdont particularly like ERW she always seemed a bit of a self possessed snot. But watching her testify before congress before she named her abuser and then watching Phoenix rising, while I disagreed with some of her framing I found her fairly believable. The sheer number of accusers and the few men from his tours who have said they are being truthful he saw it gives me pause to think that there is truth behind it all. MM is problematic. His push against societal norms while they don't bother me nor does his appearance at all, even a bdsm lifestyle doesn't shock or bother me. But he certainly set himself up to not be believed, his violent behaviors. His memoir the sheer number of accusers and the problematic push to date women who are barely adult women lends him to being questionable. Like beloved Bill Cosby, how many women had to come forward before our society went hey maybe this is a problem here. And I agree we have to ask why we normalize men seeking out barely out of puberty partners. Think of all the stories and songs you know about men seeking out young girls that were chart toppers. We have alot that needs to be looked deeply at.

Also, the free will thing… we are programmed so if we live unconsciously, without self reflection, we won’t change. We need to become super conscious and try to change our choices each moment to almost reprogram ourselves!

Evan tries really hard to paint her childhood as being abusive, troubled and traumatic but nothing she brings up about her upbringing in the documentary sounds like it warrants that . She says her parents argued and 'yelled at eachother' sometimes. Um, that's something that occurs at one time or another in nearly every household Evan, it certainly did in mine and friends of mine. And also that her parents got divorced - again, shake hands with half the rest of the world. Apart from her getting into acting pretty young and going to auditions and shoots etc - her childhood and family background kinda sounded completely normal and average??

    • @fiikahlo

Trauma occurs because of the feeling of terror, not because of specific situations that other people think as "trauma worthy". Children think and feel in ways that doesn't obey any single rule or logic.
A child can be traumatized as an infant, if their parent behaves in scary ways, even though the parents might not understand they're doing anything wrong. For example, the blank face-experiment shows that even a parent just staring at the infant with a blank face makes them extremely distressed.
If someones parent is narcissistic, or has any other social difficulties due to personality disorders, its improbable that the child survives without some kind of trauma, simple or complex, if the child has sensitivity to traumatization.

I can give you an example, ask all 7 of us what was Xmas like in our household and though the same thing happened in front of all of us we each describe it differently. We did not celebrate Xmas and there is 1 sister that found it tragic and hated my mom for the longest, even though we got gifts most of the year cause my mom wanted to show appreciation for us being good kids. To this day, it is a tragedy to her. Why? She will say cause we didn't get gifts. And we think she is nuts. To me it is more perspective then just nurture or nature.

When it comes to addiction there are people that just can’t stop, it’s in their biology before and after.
When several women have to be “coached” into “remembering” their trauma something don’t add up. childhood trauma and feelings should not be in the case against her relationship with MM. Maybe there is something there that wasn’t dealt with and she’s “projecting” this? That might be a reason to she seems more believable than example AH, there is something but maybe not him?

I can see ERW is a Narcissist herself. I guess her upbringing also created her to be one, but Narcissism is coddled and pampered and even encouraged in this day and age. Maybe it always has been to a degree, but especially now. But I think her violent protest and protection of her image is part of her Narcissism and she is willing to use MM as a shield to protect that image she has re-created. IG I think is the linchpin in this endeavor, frame job, and without her I don't think it would have happened. Again IG is also a garden variety Narcissist who is known to do extreme and malicious acts to gain attention and notoriety to her "art" and would be drawn to ERW celebrity. And by this time ERW would be so embarrassed at her behavior when she was dating a rock star that the only way she felt like she could explain it away was to blame MM and make him into the monster that forced her to do all these things she is ashamed of. Just admitting she was a young adult who was finding herself and experimenting wasn't enough, the truth isn't satisfactory here because she can't use that as a launchpad for this era of her career. She needs a survivor story to get the clout and accolades that gets to take a ride on the Me Too movement.

I don't think it goes as deep as this at all. I think it's a very basic play for money and notoriety. I think what you see in PR is 99%BS to persuade the audience that she's a victim. Shes from a very toxic community and in keeping with the recent Social Justice culture growth, it's not enough just to be an actress. The main roles will be drying up soon and being a saintly advocate for DV female victims is very attractive to her. She can milk that for years. I don't even thinks she regrets being the wildchild gf of MM. I do think she has probably been a very abusive partner in every one of her relationships and wants a way to erase or justify that. If she came out suddenly as a spokesperson for abuse, some of her past partners could call her out. By accusing MM and painting herself as a victim she makes that very difficult for them to speak the truth....they would be "victim blamers". Ergo she's just an antisocial person who doesn't gaf as long as she get money, power and fame in the way she wants it. I don't think she has a better or worse relationship with reality v fantasy than any other Narc in Hollywood.

The thing about a poseur is...
I really don't know how many of Mansons fans "live the lifestyle".
He's the probably the most mainstream artist I enjoy or follow.
He went mainstream long enough ago that even being his fan in some subcultures will cause a conversation about "selling out" and "real art" in any group of goths or metalheads, metal musicians ect.
And "poseur" is a childish slang we mostly put down after highschool. But...
The "subcultures of darkness" tho... We've always had a problem with poseurs.
People attracted to the aesthetic and the mainstream stereotypes of what outsiders *think* its like to be us.
These folks are usually just acting out over something else. It is just a "dark phase" for them, and later they have a lot of regrets...
They didn't figure out who they were and become themselves more, they just tried to pretend to be something to get attention.
Discovering these subcultures is a very positive, fulfilling, comforting event for most of the people who decide to dive in and live inside them.
But, for a very few people its a mistake they make because they don't understand themselves or can't be really honest about who they are. They can't understand that not everyone is just putting on a show for other people, some people are just being themselves. It's not being edgy; it's bare naked, self exposing honesty with a community who can accept and understand that some of us are just really dark, even before age 6...
Anyway, she has the standard poseur "goth phase regret" energy going. If you know a real live goth, just ask them about it. Every goth knows someone who "used to be goth" and now tries to pretend that part of them never happened or it was all someone elses "fault"...

I no longer outwardly present as Goth, I don’t dress the way I did back then, I still have and cherish all of my band tees from that time and I still listen to the music (just not in the car with my 6 year old) 😅 but I remember that time of my life fondly, and would never change it if I could. It is a big part of what shaped me into the person I am along with all of the other parts in my journey good and bad, but being Goth was never “bad”, but I can see why some might regret having that phase or want to blame someone for what they consider a mistake.

Also, we've heard from at least 3 of his ex-partners now that he was never abusive and that these accusations do not fit with the person they knew, most notably from Dita von Teese who was with him for 7 years. And on the other side, MM has so many red flags. Violence against the people around him whether it's his mum or throwing a mic at someone, this shows that to him violence is the answer to problems. Not to mention he's shown that he doesn't take consent seriously (kissing a guy who has since complained during a show). He's admitted in his book of some red flags and interviews for example calling ERW 158 times and because she wasn't picking up. He admitted to cutting himself on purpose to show her that SHE was hurting him. (classic abuse tactic) Even if you try to discredit one person, there are also 11 other women out there with different stories with the same pattern all accusing him of abuse. This makes sense. It explains a lot. She made similar accusations against JB. If you are right, any time she would actually have intercourse the childhood trauma of her first time with a much older man against her will on film would completely obfuscate any normal and genuine emotional acceptance and even happiness. Her inability to interpret real from fantasy as a coping method to trauma actually lines up. Even her relationship with a same sex partner is in jeopardy.
I have often wondered about this in regards to AH as well. Her traumatic childhood is well known. It is documented that adults who have suffered abuse and trauma often seek out relationships and situations that repeat or shadow in similarity so they can as an adult, heal their inner child. More often than not this response actually repeats the trauma and starts another generation of abuse.

Colonel, I have experienced mixed feelings and have had opinions about some of your dialogue/takes on this controversy- I have found myself conflicted as someone who hopes for accountability, has a preference for TRUTH, as a person whose sense of compassion and empathy is quite eNcompassing, YET.. isn’t encouraging this rise of victim identity [*as pertained to women…] that we are both critical about.
    (I realize I write run-on sentences, I hope I can be understood.)
I don’t express myself in RUclips comments often but this work you have been doing has been important to me.
What I didn’t mention in regards to my internal conflict is that
I have attributed a lot of who I am and what I believe to the influence of Marilyn Manson. Obsessed with him and his music in my early adolescence (around the year 2006) through my teenage years and early adulthood, I have seen him live and up close several times, had the dream to meet and touch him all because of the philosophical and moral ways he influenced me to think and view people and the world, etc.
I even waited until I learned to let go or ease the feeling of him being an idol to me, to pay for a meet and greet with the man himself just a couple of years ago (2018.) And make that dream of mine come true.
I am not letting the allegations taint that journey and event for me. But I continue to look back on it all more cautiously and critically. And the experiences and perspectives you bring to this arena are instrumental to that.
Whew, I did not plan to write so much and I am hesitant to read it and annoy myself with it. Like what was my point? This is the only space where this THING so close to me is being discussed in a manner where I can share my feelings about it openly (whereas anywhere else it would be victim vs abuser discussion, end of story) And I’ve been wanting to say something for so long.
It is BECAUSE of all that about myself that I found this to be one of your most important videos and best commentary on this situation/saga. To me it is important to be critical while also communicating an understanding and empathy with varying human experiences. And this commentary showed you doing that. And I commend you for it.
Thank you for sharing. Though critical, I am appreciating the space and work. Hope you feel better soon..

It almost felt like she was playing Dolories Abernathy. One has to wonder if certain actresses do carry their characters with them and develop multi-personality disorders. Pretty Persuasion is one of her earlier movies where she plays a HS teen falsely accusing her teacher of sexual misconduct. The fact that she presents herself in such a conservative manner in these rounds of interviews (View, Drew, Trevor Noah) makes me thinks she is trying to distance herself from her "DARK" choices in roles and relationships...I mean there is a video of her doing Nazi Salutes at one of MM's concerts. Of course she will have to say she was brainwashed to keep her career. How else would she save herself if that becomes Viral. MM today also doesn't have much power in either Hollywood nor Music industry. He is also fat and unattractive. He is an easy target. Today being viewed as an "Activist" is like a religious "born-again" virtue transformation. She wants to shed her old self and be transformed, but rather than taking personal responsibility that religious conversions require, woke transformations require seeking Justice and targets of blame other than oneself.

I still want to give ERW the benefit of the doubt to a certain extent while also giving MM a fair shake. When I first started watching all the videos about ERW's accusations, I thought of a couple of different scenarios for why ERW made her accusations against MM in which her hurt feelings would still be valid. One possibility I considered was that maybe ERW's hurt feelings from years of narcissistic or other abuse caught up with her and she redirected her accusation at the wrong individual. Perhaps when ERW had her breakdown, her father was quick to blame MM, and maybe ERW went along with it rather than try to fight her father and risk his wrath? I know my narc family member is quick to make assumptions about other people they barely know and is slow to change their opinion once they've already made up their mind about a person. The other men ERW has been with likely would have been too conventional and more to the narc father's taste. It would also explain the more conservative attitude and style that ERW seems to have these days. Maybe she did try to rebel when she was younger, but then regressed in more recent years to please her father?
I think it's also possible that ERW maybe didn't like what MM did when they were intimate and just never voiced her negative feelings, thus MM wouldn't have known he was doing anything wrong. If the father is a huge narcissist, it would make sense that ERW would not express her negative feelings until much later because a lot of children of narcissistic parents tend to hide or repress their negative emotions. Only through her therapy was she finally able to express herself more freely. But if she never said anything in the moment, then MM didn't commit SA.
These possible scenarios don't exonerate ERW by any means. As an adult, she should still know better.

You have to remember that MM was twice her age, very famous and powerful and she was a young, very infatuated girl.
The power dynamic in that relationship was enormously skewed in his direction; he at the very least took advantage of a young girl.
Also, she wouldn't have to voice her discomfort during moments of intimacy, he'd be able to tell easily by body language/facial expression before, during and after the fact. Not sure if that would constitute as rape, but it's certainly abusive.

    • @DarkLightHuntress
      @DarkLightHuntress 2 года назад +2

@@jaylee5331 ERW was 18 or 19 when they met. She was hardly a "young girl", more like a young woman. One thing I can't stand is how ADULTS, especially WOMEN are being encouraged to be helpless. Also if she was really uncomfortable, she would have had PLENTY of opportunities to speak up. I really dislike how people nowadays say women don't have to speak up when they are in an uncomfortable situation. In my mind, it sets women up to be taken advantage of by telling them it's okay to be passive in their discomfort and trust that their partner will pick up on how they feel. Also, I don't think it's a question of HAVE TO, as if it's some kind of obligation or chore, it's a matter of self-agency. I don't care how powerful the man is. Women should be free to speak their minds and voice their discomfort regardless, even if it's right in the middle of sex. Also, unless she was actively pushing him away, moving away from him or making a disgusted expression, he might not have picked up on her discomfort. Body language can be ambiguous sometimes. Yeah, he should've asked her how she was feeling in the moment if he was unsure. If he didn't, she should've said something. It's better for a woman to voice her discomfort and leave no room for misunderstanding.

I believe evan Rachel Wood and its such a shame she won't be believed because not only did her 'friend' lie about awful abuse claims but she also tried to use her stor about manson for her own means to an end by constantly bringing his friendship with JD into the trial. Evan has tried to get the statute of limitations extended so anyone in her situation can prosecute and get justice years after the abuse. Very very different to what Amber Heard has done.

What gets me about this is how much of our history lies in how we react to our lives, not what happens to us. I can remember times in my life when I was not just encouraged but pushed to turn people in for things they did not do. It seems to be quite common if you look into certain cultures, it is often acceptable to associate regret with the other r word because of an inflated sense of entitlement to commitment and 'intentions' toward us. Strangely enough, this mentality of 'what are your intentions toward so and so' rewriting your whole reputation can actually pair us up with some real creeps. Stating intention is not more powerful than actually providing someone with the freedom to choose you.
Sorry for the rant, and i hope it made sense. My determinism might be singular in this social climate.

  • @EcoSpice

Growing up acting and playing roles to appease and be accepted can easily turn into playing roles in future relationships. Meaning "I like this person, who do I need to be for them to like me back and for me to be safe with them?"
Only, this leads to a long term situation with ongoing adaptation, not only to the current partner but to others as well, over time muddling the water and making the roles increasingly difficult to keep separate, all the while never holding on to who they themselves really are. A continuous search for "who do I need to be in This context, with This person" etc.
This is also possibly why friendships and relationships only work for a time, until it becomes too difficult to play all of the roles, and a new set of roles is set up as a way out, a way forward.
Just thinking... Hope that makes some sense.

Her claim of being "a minor" when she was an 18 year old adult and also saying "I was just a baby" is also majorly flawed. All you have to do is look at every single relationship she has had and you see how she becomes a chameleon of that partner. BPD staring you right in the face, then narcissism which she will never take responsibility for her actions, but blame for her own behavior. I grew up with BPD and a narcissist, but l also chose very young that l would not be the same kind of person and l have nothing to do with any of them because of the toxicity and abuse they bring with them.

I find you make a LOT of assumptions and create psychologically imaginative narratives about who Evan Woods is, with little understanding of the effects of trauma. You also avoid discussion of / ignore other evidence against MM including his own words. Many individuals who are neglected/abused as children are much more vulnerable to predators and predators identify them easily. I had little to no knowledge of MM or Evan Woods but when I watch the documentary, she is FAR more plausible than Amber Heard. If Johnny Depp was vulnerable to a narcissist like Amber because he grew up with one, why can't that be true of Evan Wood? Your certainty that she is lying is the point you start from in all your videos. I find the depth of your certainty disturbing.

Sometimes in life we need to go through some bad shit, drug abuse for example, bad employment, bad friends or even people who claim to be lovers that are bad in order to grow and learn. We differentiate what is good for us and what isn’t. Without these negative experiences how would we become stronger and wiser? When it comes to drug abuse - I’ve been through it and came out the other side I think it’s a choice at one point - but it happens when you are READY to let go. And that can mean a lot of different things for a lot of people. When are you ready? When do you have that free will? Does it happen to everyone? Nope. It certainly doesn’t. Sometimes people just aren’t strong enough because they never LEARN from the feelings of the abuse or self abuse which is what drug addiction is. They identify with it instead. Anyway. Great video. 🤟🏼
