There is no voice chat in this game. The best way to stay safe is to listen if the music, the terror radius, keeps getting louder and more intense. If it keeps getting louder, chances are high he is going in your direction. Don't worry too much about perks and items, focus on the base mechanics at first, like the survivor HUD on the left. Learning what each icon means is good, so you can be aware of what your team is doing at any time.
Smaller tips that I can give. Don't be afraid to run if you don't see or hear the killer, and don't spend too much time crouching, it's pretty slow, unless your hiding behind an object low to the ground.
You can see how close everyone is to dying on the hook and ground on the HUD, each survivor has a health bar.
I think that's all you need to know for now, ask me for anything else lol.

Hey, you did pretty good! You asked for some tips, so I'll provide some!
-The terror radius (the creepy music that plays with a heartbeat) plays when the killer gets closer to you. The more intense the music is, the closer they are. The most intense is the chase music that plays when you run within a certain distance in the killer's sight.
-Learn how to loop the killer. Stay alive as long as possible in chase. Every single killer can move faster than you in a straight line (besides The Nurse, however her teleport makes up for it). There is no point in trying to outrun the killer. Utilize window vaults and pallets. Making the killer vault, stunning the killer with a pallet or forcing the killer to break a dropped pallet takes a bit of time for the killer to do, which can give you distance if you run to another area while he performs the action. If you waste the killer's time, you give your teammates time to complete important objectives for the whole team to escape. The killer may also realize they are wasting their time and leave you alone for the time being.
-Learn the powers and abilities of each killer, so that you can understand how to beat them. Each killer has a power, and they can be very different in terms of game play.
-Try to figure out who the killer you are facing is as quickly as possible. While you are new, or if you've only played against a specific killer about 5 times or less, the loading screen will display a message at the bottom that says "Facing The (Killer Name)" with tips on how to play against them. This is 100% accurate to which killer you are playing against. There are also telltale signs for some killers once you load into the match that can best help you figure out which killer you are facing. The Pig has boxes with a Billy the Puppet on top. Most killers also have unique terror radius music that can help you differentiate which killer you are facing.
-While looping is important, sometimes stealth is also very important. Bill is a very loud survivor when injured. There are other survivors who are much quieter when injured. I also play Bill as my main, so I understand lmfao but anyways, crouching while injured will make your injured sounds quieter.
-Though the tutorial makes it seem like a bad decision, and sometimes it is, it is okay to run at some points. Your scratch marks disappear chronologically (in order from first to last, as in your scratch marks when you first started running vs. your most recent scratch marks) after around 7 seconds, and they don't make your location incredibly obvious. Newer killer players typically don't understand scratch marks that well. Just, don't run when the killer is near or after making your location obvious unless the killer has seen you for sure.
-Look around often. This gives you plenty of information; the killer if he comes to you, where your teammates are, where windows and pallets are, any other important things nearby.
-Plan your escape route. If the killer comes near and decides to chase you, have an idea of where you will go. Prioritize a window or pallet to start looping.
-You don't NEED exhaustion perks, but they can be very helpful. Don't rely on them as your only chase tool, but they can help extend the length of your chases. The longer you can last in chase, the longer your teammates can focus on repairing generators without interruption. It's not a bad idea to bring an exhaustion perk to help last longer in chase.
-There are three types of window vaults that you should be aware of. Slow vaults; when you vault the window without running. This will not trigger a noise notification for the killer. This also works for lockers when you hide in them. Medium vaults are when you vault a window while running, but you are too close to the window, or you press the vault button when you approach the window at an angle too far to the side of the window. This type of vault will allow you to vault quicker, but not as fast as possible, and it also triggers a noise notification for the killer. Fast vaults are when you approach the window and press the vault button when the text at the bottom reads "Running Vault" which can be hard to see since it happens really fast. You can get used to the timing after a while. Fast vaults let you vault as fast as you possibly can, and will trigger a loud noise notification for the killer. Pallets and lockers do not have medium vaults, only fast vaults. You don't have to worry about angles or timing for anything but window vaults.
-When you're in the first chase with a killer, play safe. See how they play, and see how you can counterplay them after you understand how they play. If they swing their weapon at you a lot, use this to your advantage. Fake a window vault by running at it but not vaulting. This tricks the killer into thinking that you're vaulting. If a killer is scared of being stunned by a pallet, pretend like you're going to drop it when he gets close.
This game has a lot of elements to it and it can be very tough. Hopefully these tips help and you don't feel so overwhelmed anymore. You did pretty good for your first couple of games! Can't wait to see some more!

something to remember is that killer is rather hard and that killers have so many things to worry about. if you fuck up on a generator, stay on it, because the killer might be busy and not care. if you begin to hear the terror radius, Then you can run
if you want to be even more safe, you can put on the perk spinechill, it has the icon of a frightened little cat. it takes some getting used to though. basically, dark= killer is not looking. lights up= killer is looking at you, and if it stays lit up, they are coming for you
the perks can be very overwhelming at first, just don't worry about every single one. a good beginner build you can run right now on bill is: unbreakable, kindred, deja vu, and spine chill. swap spine chill out for we'll make it for simplicity if spine chill is too complicated (just make sure to actually heal them instead of running off and leaving them to die!)

So basically, The Entity (these black spider like tentacles that kill the survivors on hooks) is a super powerful being, that exists outside of the multiverse in its own realm, called The Entity's realm, or The Fog. This realm is where you play in basically.
The Entity feasts on strong emotions to stay alive, so it grabs people from across all universes and timelines there are to serve as its prey, either as a killer or a survivor. All of the maps are places that are important to a specific killer, the Entity created the maps out of the killer's memory and refeshioned them a little to fit better into the realm.
It's totally normal to feel overwhelmed! I can tell you you're gonna struggle a lot playing the game at first, because it's not really beginner friendly since there is so much to memorize and keep in mind. Over 30 killers with completely different powers, easily over 100 different perks for both killers and survivors each. But trust me, you definitely will improve if you keep playing. A few tipps I can give you are that you read through all of the killer's power and what they can do with it, it doesn't matter if you can memorize it or not, you'll learn it all eventually! And read through what all the perks do, as well!
As for gameplay tipps, when you play survivor and the killer chases you, try to briefly turn the camera to look at the killer from time to time as that can give you very useful information about the killer is doing!
What the game didn't tell you about the Bloodweb yet, when a character reaches a certain level you can buy and unlock one of their three personal perks so that this perk can also appear in the Bloodweb of another character. So it's possible to have any survivor perk on any survivor you want, it works the same with the killers.
What you see popping up before a match are the Offerings. They can be bought in the Bloodweb, and they have many different effects. Most Offerings give bonus blood points, other increase Luck, effect the density of the fog on the map, can let you start the match as far away from the killer as possible, and so on. These Offerings don't matter all too much in the matches however, so they're a nice extra but not necessary to win a match.
Also try not to stick to map edges too much as there are no vaults or pallets. Any try to repair generators whenever possible, as time only works against the survivors.
These are advanced or pro tipps however, so just get comfortable and acquainted with the gameplay before trying to follow those tipps. I'll be happy to give you more advices in the future, too! Have lots of fun in the Fog 😁

    • @AlfaWolf777
      @AlfaWolf777 Год назад +2

You actually don't have to buy the teachables in the blood web anymore. Prestigeing with any character unlocks all three of their perks at level one for all other characters of the same role. Prestigeing a second and third time will upgrade the perks to levels two and three.

The perks are probably the best way to have fun because they change your playstyle to accommodate how they work. Seeing you play a baby Bill is so adorable ngl. But yeah the first one let you go while the second one was playing decently.
As for a few thing to remember...
You can run no problem if you know the killer isn't near you or is chasing someone else.
The killer wants to pressure as many people as possible so if one person is occupied in a chase do generators. As for how to know where gens are... it's about remembering where they spawn on each map, every map has a set amount of gen spawns and many maps have gens that spawn in a location every time. Using the map like you did is a good way to learn where they can spawn.
Other smaller things, the killer is always faster than you, using pallets and vault locations is the best way to gain distance, however vault locations such as windows get blocked off if you uae them 3 times within one chase, in general chases are jow you occupy a killer, run away from other survivors if the killer is near because they can do hens while you're being chased, one left side of your screen you can see what everyone is doing, for example if they are doing gens you see a small round icon, that means they're doing gens, you can also see the progress, and if someone is in chase you see these small spider like arms shaking around the icon of the person being chases.
All this gives you info during the trials, remember it's better to be alone in most cases because it's not about not getting hit it's about doing the objective, if you get hit it's fine, in most cases someone will help you after you've been hocked. Do objectives while everyone is occupied and sooner or later all gens are done and you can open the gates, at that point being alone isn't a benefit anymore so just go to the gates and stay together.

Dropping your item can be useful! For example, if you unhook a survivor and you don't want to spend your time on healing them (for example you need to unhook another person) you can leave them your med kit as a kind gesture so they can heal themselves. Also if killer is nice and lets you get out you can drop your item in front of him as a 'thank you' :)

The way to read the HUD on the left: The number next to the generator symbol indicates how many generators still need to be fixed to open the door. You can see each of the survivors as well. A red slash over a survivor means they're injured and might need healing. A person laying on the ground is dying and definitely needs healing. They can also be carried by the killer (high up with limbs hanging down), on a hook (needs rescuing), or have either of the two skull symbols (indicates a dead player and how they died). Rarely you'll see a broken connector that means they left the game early. A generator or healing icon next to someone's name with a yellow ring around it means they're working on a generator or healing someone.

Tips for survivour: As you seen in the tutorial, you have to do gens while surviving the killer. Hitting the white bit of the skill checks adds progression a little and you get bonus bloodpoints doing so. Memorizing the maps are also a good thing in dead by daylight. Knowing where everything is, knowing where pallets are, generators, etc. Looping is another important skill. Looping is going around a safe spot like a pallet and staying there until the pallets broken and you run to another loop. If you know what our doing you can always loop the killer. But be warned, if a survivour is chased for to long the killer starts gaing bloodlust that has 3 tiers. Each tier gives more speed to the killer to help the killer not be looped insantly.
Tips for Killer: Killer is quite hard trying to know what each killers abilities are. The trapper places traps which injures a survivour if they step in it, the wraith gets a bell which if rung puts him invis/ visable. You get a speed boost if you unclock. and the others you can read. Each killer takes time to master and each one has 3 perks like survivours. The main goal is to find, down and hook survivours. Reapeating the progress until everyones dead. You should also patrol the generators, since the main goal of survivours are to complete generators. Patrolling them are the best way to find them.
Now, im not a dbd expert im bad at most of the stuff. Although im hoping these tips helped you for next time.

It's refreshing seeing a new player. Hopefully it's funn
Some things to note as you play survivor:
    - Other survivors or killers can't hear your mic at any time, unless your in a discord call with them obviously.
    - Like the tutorial said, fast vaults and failed skill checks tell the killer where you are unless you have certain perks.
    - It may be hard to do, but looking behind you and having line of sight on the killer chasing you can help you with avoiding the killer.
    - Survivors have to be hooked 3 times to die typically. The warped skull icon means the survivor died on hook, the normal skull means the killer killed them with a Mori which is basically a cinematic kill.
    - Bill is a fun survivor to play, but he is EXTREMELY loud when injured lol. Meg is a very good survivor to play for beginners as she has very handy perks that she comes with and she is rather stealthy.

I love this now that i’ve watched so many of your dbd reacts and then myself putting in so many hours between pc and console. i was overwhelmed too when i first started playing and then stopped playing but watching this, the first match, i remember acting like this too. you did really well for your first time and the more you play, the more mistakes you’ll make, and the better you’ll get. i’m sure people have said it already but there’s no in game comms, but can end game chat. learning the blood web was kind of hard, but i’d say read all the perks, offerings, add-ons before buying. big skull = mori. ghostface looking skull = died on hook. it’ll take you a while to learn status effects (will be on right side of screen) and playing both killer and survivor will actually help you learn mechanics and how each side thinks/works

Hey, I've wanted to give you a little headsup about an important thing the tutorial did not mention.
When you get in a locker while running, you get inside quickly, but the killer gets a visual notification when you get it, making it pratically useless. Same as windows, if you vault through them while running, you will make a sound and they will be notified. Only do these while running when you're in desperate need like being chased, otherwise try to run as less as possible in order to leave as less tracks as possible. Keep at it!! You're doing great for a beginner!

There is for sure a learning curve to this game, but it’s so fun getting to relive the beginning!! Definitely a solid start, well done 😄 Though my tip is to maybe not run into the basement too often, because the killer can absolutely corner you there (the comments solidly have a lot of genuinely helpful hints though, from what I’ve seen). Enjoy the journey, and welcome to the fog!!

Another new player! Oh I’m so excited to watch your journey through dbd! Words of advice would be to turn on the visible heartbeat mechanic, it basically gives you a physical heartbeat on your survivor to notify you when the killers approaching, as for perks and the blood web you can search up beginner friendly builds from otz or anyone, just expect some year old videos to be a little out dated as perks have been given overhauls over the past years. Take it slow through your learning experience is there is a lot to take in for new players. As for the rift/archive challenges? They’re challenges that help you progress through the current rift, the rift being dbd’s version of a battle pass, challenges also award with blood points alongside bonus progression in the rift.
Not Otzdarva has videos suggesting who’s the best beginner friendly characters!
Alright that’s enough talk, if you have any questions or concerns lemme know! I’d be happy to answer any questions ❤

In this game information is power, you hesitate less and understand what it is your team requires.
    Helpful tips:
    1) on the bottom left is the survivors including yourself. This tells you their health conditions which is (healthy(normal picture), injured(a scratch through the picture), and dying(a image of them laying on the ground))
    2) You can tell what activity each survivor is doing next to their image: repairing (a generator with a yellow circle tells you the progress), Healing (a medical kit with a plus sign, doesn’t tell you their progress), Cleansing/Blessing totems (it looks like a shrine made of small bones ( blessing give buffs to anyone within an area (Hex totems are killer totems and they give nerfs or extra abilities while they’re active))), there’s a new mechanic called invocation and it looks like they’re sitting on the ground.
If someone’s image has a hook means they’re currently on the hook, and if it looks like they’re hung over something it means killer is carrying them.
There are these tally marks next to your images this tells you how many hooks you and other survivors have once you have two the next hook will kill you.
    Hope this helps~

    So Tips for the Bloodweb:
    - You get all your items from the blood web, there are 4 different items to get from the blood web. Items, add-ons, offerings, and perks. The currency for the blood web is blood points, you earn this passively by simply playing the game and completing objectives.
Items: Flashlight, Toolbox, Medkit, Map, Key - Each has it's own utility, flashlights can blind the killer, maps can reveal auras of generators, hooks and totems, toolboxes increase gen repair speed, medkits let you heal yourself or other survivors, and keys let you unlock the hatch if the killer closes it.
Add-ons: These are special items that you can add to your item, i.e. bandages or needles for medkits, batteries or lenses for flashlights, spare parts for toolkits.
Offerings: These are offerings you can burn to influence the game, from picking the map you go to, to getting bonus blood points, to preventing loss of your item depending on which offering you bring.
Perks: Once you get to bloodweb level 50 then prestige the character their perks become available on your other characters, you upgrade your perks via the bloodweb, you can also get default perks that aren't related to characters from the bloodweb.

The regular skull i believe is when the killer either moris you or you bleed to death ( less likely to happen then a mori), the Skull with an open mouth is when the survivor is sacrificed on a hook
