I agree. Buy a game on an earlier console, then later they say, "Hey we have BC now for your old games!" Then you find out they only use the game as a "key" to allow access to a downloaded version that runs on an emulator in the newer console. Probably tweak the downloaded copy to run better on the emulator, (not bad I guess), but then, they can't support ALL the old games, only the most popular titles. AND you have to use your bandwidth and time to download. I know in big cities people have high speed internet everywhere and multiple provider choices, but some people are in rural areas & not only have only one provider, but many times have data caps. The downloads kill your allotment of data for the month. Technology is great, but sometimes it makes one long for the days of a game just working when you pop it in without having to wait for updates, etc.
Is one of your games not working whilst you have the disk in or digitally downloaded? Try this: What you need to do is, when you’re putting the disk in let it go in 3 quarters, then hold it until it makes a weird noise, then let it go and it should work. Hope this helped!

There's people workout internet access, we pay 60 USD for a disc therefore it should work right out of the case without having to download the game, really annoying I have slow internet so downloading stuff is a huge problem. Not only that it takes up too much hard drive space compared to having the game on the disc

You're totally right! I remember the first time I experienced that bullshit (on a PC) where I bought a boxed copy of a game and had to download the entire damned thing before I could play. My internet connection was through Verizon with a 3G connection! It was Valve's "The Orange Box". If I remember right, it required and automatically installed the (at that time) bloated extra Steam interface. I didn't want it. I only bought the compilation really to play TF2 after being a huge TFC fan for years. Took FOREVER on my connection. Took SO long I opted not to install anything BUT TF2, although there was Half-Life 2, Portal, and some expansions and stuff on there. Then later all the new consoles started doing the same crap. It pretty much makes the physical media worthless when you have to download the game. If it's new, you might not have a TON of updates, but the older the title, the more updates you have to download when you install it. People with fat pipes won't care about what we're talking about, because they've never dealt with the issues of slower internet or data caps. Nothing worse than having friends or family over, turning on your XBox One, then seeing the damned update needed screen. And you can NEVER properly estimate how long the update will take, because the stupid onscreen progress meter is horseshit. Oh, and some of you have probably gotten to 100% just to have the console tell you there was some kind of problem with the update. It then just presents you with a "RETRY" prompt. Hell yeah! Let's do just fucking that! Let's just try this again while people are waiting around another couple of hours! If my Atari did that shit when I was young, I'd have taken the bastard out in the yard and used it for a BMX ramp! Then, my friends and I could all stand around a huge barrel with the casing on fire on the end of a big stick while we all laughed at the zany sounds the melting plastic made as it whizzed into the can! They won't allow you to do that. If they are offering digital licenses of certain OG titles, you have to purchase them, and then you can get rid of your OG game discs.
So let me get this straight. I am buying a physical copy of Conkers live and reloaded ( it’s compatible). I’ll only need to put the disc in once download the digital copy of the game and I could play it even if the disc isn’t in the Xbox one.

I currently own an original Xbox. However, I got the infamous red ring of death on it the last time I played it, and that was a long time ago. I'd like to play my original Xbox games on Xbox 360, but unfortunately (1) there are games I have that are not compatible with Xbox 360 and (2) I can't load my backup files via the original Xbox controller pack memory card to my Xbox 360, I have to manually do everything all over again.

As you indicate the problem is that to play original and 360 Xbox games on Xbox ONE you need internet connection. Without dad internet connection you can not enjoy backward compatibility with previous versiones of Xbox. Charles Campuz OG xbox is not that expensive. U can find them for 20-30 dollars. Then you can play all the games you want, and the games are also very cheap. I have one of mine softmodded wich mean i can install cds and play straight from xbox wothout cds. You dont have to mod though but its worth getting a xbox only of you really like retro xbox.

As you indicate the problem is that to play original and 360 Xbox games on Xbox ONE you need internet connection. Without dad internet connection you can not enjoy backward compatibility with previous versiones of Xbox.
With 360 you could enjoy the backward compatibility with original Xbox no need download games and we do not all have our consoles connected to the internet.

Charles Campuz OG xbox is not that expensive. U can find them for 20-30 dollars. Then you can play all the games you want, and the games are also very cheap.
I have one of mine softmodded wich mean i can install cds and play straight from xbox wothout cds. You dont have to mod though but its worth getting a xbox only of you really like retro xbox.

Vince, the only games that works was my games Ace Combat 6 that one works, Assasin's Creed II that one works too, Call of Duty World At War it works too and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 that my games only that works.
