    Got a 2005 VTX 1300R. I'm the same size as the submitter. My bike has 56,XXX mile and runs great! Harley owner said it would go 100,XXX miles, no problem, and his ride won't. I keep the service up to date and the bike garaged and covered. Great bike.

    Watching this as I just purchased the same bike. Paid 3800 for it...21k miles on it. It's also my 1st bike. Some may say it's too big for a 1st bike, but I'm a big guy. Can't wait to really learn how to ride, so I can fully enjoy the bike!

    I almost bought one of these in the spring, passed on it. 1month ago my neighbor offered his 1 owner 2002 VTX1800R, immaculate, new tires+brakes, for 3 grand. It's way more fun than my Yamaha Zuma and almost as fun as 1st generation V-Max 😊. I subscribed. The variety of m/c channels on RUclips is a blessing.

    I watched your videos and remember exactly how your garage closes :). I own the VTX1300 for the fourth season, I bought it without a body kit, installed everything that is possible and not necessary on it. this season I'll take everything off, in the city you don't need a motorcycle the size of a sedan;). I want to ride and not stand in traffic jams. Thanks for your videos, VTX in its purest form is beautiful.

    Thank for sharing I'm looking in to getting a entry level cruiser ben riding duelsport long time xl500 xl600 on 650l now this looks like good starter for me I'm in so cal there some 1300 and 1800 in my price range just leaning to the 1300 the 100 pounds less I'm used to lot less power so I think I'd be happy theyr my question since you have both is fuel economy I hear the 1800 uses lot gas compared to the 1300 we have lot of desert going east with long stretches like in AZ and Texas

      Yes the vtx1300 will do a little better on gas, but the bigger difference is definitely the weight felt (because both bikes are well designed, but the 1800 is a bit taller so you will definitely feel that weight). You will definitely get nice bang for your buck with the vtx1300 just make sure is nice condition

    WOW, you are DEFINITELY A HONDA GUY. GREAT CHOICES OF MODELS. THE 1300VTX ARE GREAT LIGHT HEAVY WEIGHTS. THE VALKYRIE IS A REAL HEAVYWEIGHT. THEN for the UNBRIDLED MUSCLE BIKE THAT 1800VTX IS PERFECT FOR CRUISING FAST. ONLY thing I NOTICE ON THAT 1300C IS IT LOOKS LIKE MAYBE YOUR FORKS HAVE A BIT OF A BEND. LEFT GRIP JUST APPEARS to be IN FRONT OF THE RIGHT. COULD JUST BE THE ROAD SURFACE, BUT CHECK IT OUT. THAT WILL REALLY MESS WITH YOUR STEERING AND WEAR OUT A TIRE FAST. I COULD BE WRONG, BUT WORTH CHECKING IT OUT. YOU CLEARLY KNOW ABOUT BIKES. Just wanted to let you know. Great group of bikes you have. Stay safe buddy.

    Ok just picked one like this up but it’s the r/s and it’s been about two years since it last started. Do you think it will start once I replace the wiring harness and clean the carburetor and replace the battery or do you think the motor has probably already seized up and do you think the gas tank is rusted on the inside considering that the previous owner always left a little bit of fuel to start it and the fuel line was left in the flow (on) position? Or do you think it will still run?

    • @Drive315

    I've been looking at a 06 VTX1300 that I've seen at a dealership recently. Thing is, If I were to get it, it would be my first bike. I got my MC endorsement about 7 years ago to get me a bike, and just never got a bike. And honestly haven't been on a bike since the training class. A question I would like to ask is, in your opinion, would a VTX1300 make a good first bike? Or do you think it might be a bit much for a beginner with no riding experience? I'm 45 and been wanting a bike for quite some time. And of all the bikes that I've seen, my eye keeps coming back to these 1300's.

      Thanks for watching and subscribe! The VTX1300 is one classy bike, and i like it so much that i bought 2 of them. I currently have the cherry color one and yellow one. And yes, the vtx1300 would be a great bike for you assuming you are not too small for it. Id say if you’re over 165lbs you should be able to handle the bike fine. Im in the upstate ny area and selling both my vtx1300 bikes

      i got a vtx 1300 as my first and don't regret it at all. I think if i were to have gotten anything smaller i would have grown out of it quickly. had this bike and have been riding about a year now and it never really leaves me feeling like i want or really need more. plan on upgrading in the future even though i wouldn't really need to. all in all super solid, reliable, easy maintenance, and has plenty of power to keep you entertained.

      We are very similar. I just bought an 06 1300c back in June. Hadn't ridden in over 20 years, and back then my experience was extremely limited. I'm a big guy, so I was suggested to start out on something kinda big. It will NOT feel like the little 250s they lend you at the course, but in just a short time, I've become very comfortable on mine. It's essentially a first bike for me, and I think it was an awesome choice. You should ride one if you can. See how comfortable you are. They're great bikes!

    • @Drive315
      @Drive315  3 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for watching and subscribe! The phantom will feel alot more like a dirt bike, but it you want something that has alot more power for the highway then i recommend the 1300.

      Thank you for the reply. I’m worried about fitting on the shadow phantom 6’2 32 inch inseam, and secondly it not having enough power. It would be used as a daily commuter with a mix of freeway and city driving, and mainly back road cruises here in the PNW. Would like to 2 up with my wife every once in a while. Would be my first street motorcycle but have been on 450 dirt bikes for years which have loads of torque

      @johnbraman depends on your riding style. 1100 can do a little highway riding but not for long periods, comfortably at least. The 1300 can handle long journeys at highway speeds , it also feels more solid, being a heavier bike
