#SuperYacht #luxuryhotel #London
ps. apparently it has no engine been removed and she was towed over from the Netherlands a few years ago.
I think this is the nicest hotel I've seen you visit. It looked fancy but not tacky and looks incredibly clean. Even the price was super reasonable.
Yes for London I was surprised
Eh?? The ice hotel is definitely my favourite! Also, in regards to the non porcelain loo and non marble bathroom sills etc, I think weight could be used as an excuse for this?
I'll bet the price increases significantly when there is an event running running at the Excel Centre, but what a handy hotel for those who have to stay for the duration of such an event.
@@n1msu that's true, I looked on their website and its still fully functional, so if they have to move it across an ocean, she's more than capable. I thought it may have had engines etc removed, but nope. 👍
@@n1msu good point
That was the exact same room we stayed in a couple of years ago! Room 4038. Just checked some old pics to confirm. How cool. The room has not changed what so ever though. Nor has that shower head :-) Still dated. That said we did enjoy our stay. Quite the novelty. Some fab restaurants nearby as well. Keep up the awesome content Tim!
Oh wow!
Compared to a lot of hotels you've stayed in, I didn't think the room looked dated at all. Being in simple and classic colours (no ugly designs) it looked elegant, relaxing and very clean. I would have willingly taken that divan home with me. 😅You did well in paying extra for the view over the river, the sunset over the city was amazing. I wonder who the yacht belonged originally, they certainly didn't think about saving money when they started fitting it out. Great video! 🤩
I think it's beautiful, and not as expensive as I thought it would be. Especially for London. I loved all the polished wood and brass, made it look very 1930s
Agree
I stayed there for a few days over new years- great spot and was reasonably priced, decent breakfast- even had Marmite sachets. It was very handy to the Elizabeth line (2 minute walk) which was a direct connection to Heathrow.
It looks sooo posh! I would feel intimidated as I'm the opposite of posh. I once stayed in a luxury hotel for a work course and hated it. It had several restaurants and the waiters would walk around with silver trays and a towel over their arm. Give me a Travelodge any day! :)
I thought the room and everything looked gorgeous! Bathroom was plain but can be overlooked as overall experience looked great!...
Tim how about staying in an accommodation in Leeds castle in Kent? Would make a good video!
I love the fact that you show all bits and bobs in the rooms, that’s very helpful!
Thanks
The jack flag (seen incorrectly flying at the stern of the ship) ought to be an ensign.
The jack is normally flown off a jackstaff which should be at the bow of a ship.
I'd definitely stay there. You might have thought it was dated but I loved it. I loved all that shiny polished wood. The balcony was a bit small and the side a bit high but still, on a nice evening that would be lovely. I thought the price was really reasonable. Shame about the air con, hope they fixed it for the next person. If I was flying out of the airport it would definitely be a place to stay.
I'd never heard of this hotel before, but it looks like a lovely place to stay. The main areas look so luxurious. What a unique experience and great for a plane enthusiast like me as it's so close to City airport. I'm envious of anyone who could afford to own a yacht like this!
You seen his video of one you can sleep in 747!! located on actual airport :) guess if not married and person want to pop question, good place to take u :P
One has to admit, it is really well maintained. No signs of chipped wood and furniture in the room is really something.
lol
That seems to be a finnish yacht of some sort. It screamed Finland; the locks in some doors are Abloy, the faucets were Oras etc.
Edit:
Sunborn is a finnish family business, so that answers my questions. :)
The yacht was fantastic. The care of the wood and how clean everything was in the room was remarkable. I would stay there anytime.
I've watched a few of your videos and must say that they are always so honest, as this one is, too. I liked the room, though those problems you point out would irritate me as well, particularly if I were staying, say, three nights. Increasingly, people need sockets. I have sight problems, so those reflective ceilings would keep me out of the bar areas. Lovely room (cabin), as you say, but that balcony! They should have put a ledge with a couple of breakfast bar type stools out there. I don't know how they could use that as a selling point. You'd have to be over six feet tall to see over the side. A really entertaining film. Thanks.
Thanks Neil, I'm off to check out the sister.hotel in Gibraltar v soon
Fantastic..must c
I loved it when I stayed at the yacht a few years ago. It’s a decent area as well so plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. I remember being really surprised how cheap the room was as well.
Great price given the quality and location, not to mention super unique 👍
A little bit of ships terminology for you front = bow, back = stern, left looking towards the bow = port, right looking towards the bow = starboard
We stayed there, for two nights, about four years ago. Quite enjoyed the experience of being on a yacht. We had breakfast on board but had dinner at nearby restaurants.
Only complaint I had is that the heat in the bathroom was unbearable. Underfloor heating on all the time.
Perfect for me as I always have icy cold 🤣feet.
Honestly, that room looks like a standard room that you would get in a lot of average hotels here in the USA.
Tim you should go to The Lagomar in Lanzarote. Used to belong to Omar Shariff and is like a James Bond set part restaurant and self catering apartment and quite unique.
Ending part not to bad the cleaner put all the tea coffee stuff all together makes the place look more tidy haha
I was here in 2019 thanks for bringing that memory back was a awesome stay
Glad you enjoyed it!
the sheen on all that woodwork impressed me to be honest. show's they have a high standard for clenliness
Amazing from Jumbo Jet Hotel to Yacht Hotel 😊
lol
Lovely ship, especially the polished Areas, sparkly, lovely room,
You and the family really should try an actual cruise, I went on Iona last July, loved it so much I’ve got 3 cruises booked for this year and two for the following year ☺️
We stayed here in feb 2020 was lovely
I noticed your comment about the mirror opposite the bed. My Asian wife hates this seeming demons come out of the mirror! Not a bad price for something different in London. Good video keep them coming
Hi Tim. Great video again and thanks for highlighting this unusual hotel. It looked stunning and £160 for a double room in London! Bargain. I could live with the small issues you highlighted, including the kettle no problem!
I've been on the one in Gibraltar, they have a little spa where you can have massages and all sorts.
Thanks Tim lovely and amazing sparkly and clean look forward to the next Yvonne 😊
You finally found a hotel in England without mold or anything broken. Not perfect, as you say, but probably worth 9/10. I'm surprised that you didn't take full advantage of the included brekkie. That would set me up for the day.
I've stayed in the Ibis behind you
It aint a superyacht its a barge that looks like a superyacht and has been since inception and works as a hotel with cruise ship style interior it does not however have any features that makes it a proper ship Engine Rudder Bridge generators and approval by IMO. it was originally moored at Nantaali spa in Turku Finland and probably built at the nearby shipyard.
We went for a drink on here after visiting a toy show at Excel, must be more than 15 years ago! I thought it had been moved to the Middle East, it was amazing even back then, glad it's back in the UK!
You should go to the grand Central hotel in Glasgow, some of the rooms overlook the platform which makes it a bit interesting.
Stayed there a couple of times, really nice. Handy if seeing an event at The O2.
Cable cars to The O2 nearby too 🙂
Omg I’m so glad I’m on your channel Tim you go to some amazing places and stay in some fascinating hotels but this yacht look at the size of it like a tardis
They should melt down all the little gold bits and renovate their bathrooms. ⛵
You made a good point about bathroom a let -down..on an otherwise unique stay
There's another floating hotel nearby called the Good Hotel
Love the look of it, and would definitely stay there - they need better chairs for the balcony though....
Luxurious looking floating hotel. Hotel bathroom looks basic tho but the room looks fancy! Also showcase jaw dropping interior with all the gold and silver shimmering everywhere. Fantastic experience of yours for sure.
This ”yacht” was built to be a hotel. It doesn’t have engines or bridge or anything else you would need to operate a yacht. Before London it was located in Naantali, Finland in early 2000’s.
You should ride the London Cable Car! It’s one of my favourite London attractions. I love how you can see it from this yacht
Love a good cable car
Tim I think it look beautiful the room look very clean and spacious. I would have try a little of all the breakfast food to see how the taste was but good chop
Really nice room. Rather let down by the bathroom, more's the pity.
The room is impressive I have to say! 👍🏻👍🏻
I think so too!
Looked amazing great informative video as always with yours you'd be a fantastic travel presenter on TV
The yacht was built in 1997 in Rostock, Germany and was previously docked in Finland
Wow , very nice . Never knew this existed ❗️ I'm ex cruise line staff , this would be my kind of hotel ❤
It's pre-pandemic since I last used to frequent the hotels near the ExCeL. That's a good price and often it was £200+ even back then, although if you booked early and around events at the ExCeL then deals were to be had.
I tended to stop at the Good Hotel, a floating hotel a little further down from the Sunborn. That was due to be towed back to Holland but I guess the pandemic put paid to that. I see it's still there and it's well worth a visit 😉 It's a social business and supports staff that wouldn't usually have an opportunity to develop in the hospitality trade. The rooms are bijou but very comfortable and there's a really nice bar from what I can remember.
Hello Tim how are you and gabbie and baby Casper love your vidio it must be different and extictef for you staying on a yacht hotel best wishes take care stay safe xx
Lovely and a bargain.
we stayed there when going to see a show at the O2. a couple of things you did not mention is that the restaurant is quite expensive for what the food is. also, there is never any live music or events in the bar which does make it quite boring. at the end of the day, it's a decent room with a nice view but that's about it. I don't think it is a good tradeoff for the price. I will not be going back.
There was a good promotion on rooms in this hotel few years back, and I booked one night. Hotel is in lovely area with beautiful view from the bridge at night. I am not use to luxury hotels, usually I book apartments, and I was impressed.
Great boat & lovely views of the river & the London scene. A good price - I shall try it! Was in London for 20 years sound the millennium - never went on a yacht - oops! Sherlock Holmes hotel was nice though. Bless Badger.
I like all the sparkly gold, the room was nice and so were the views, bit odd it's not going anywhere, still you won't get seasick 😂😂😂
Lol
Absolutely love it ,spotless all the way through ,I can see myself staying there and not wanting to come off ,cracking vid Tim 🎬🎥🛥️
Thanks 👍
That boat looks amazing 😍😍
Used to chill out on the yacht with my ex-partner ,at the docklands, was living locally at Prince Regent .
A bit far away but the QE2 is now a hotel docked in Dubai , would be a cool vid , Dale Philip's done a vid staying on it and its looks brilliant on board
Really enjoy these videos. Thanks
Glad you like them!
Absolutely love that room ❤️ Love the wooden panelling
Dated maybe but it’s lovely definitely a experience something different for a weekend something I would book in the future
I think it is worth it...Such a wonderful view.
Great vid Tim, bit disappointed with the bathroom , rest looks great.
yes not just me then
What a beautiful place - and not going to bankrupt guests.
P.S. Re the big mirror - " A pane to clean...!" 🙂
😁
Very interesting Tim thanks for staying, it was nice though 😊x
This exact same yacht was here in Finland together with Naantali spa years ago before moving to london. Interior looks almost the same (gold and wood) good old 2000’s!
Search naantalin kylpylä laiva or naantali spa yacht👍
Great video!
My wife and I stayed here in May 2017. I loved watching the planes descend over Canary Wharf and in a straight line past the yacht. In the evening, the Emirates airline cable car was lit up and it was fascinating watching them go back and forth. This might have been because we had been working our way through the cocktail menu in the afternoon, (chilli tequila was my favourite). The location did feel a bit isolated and not a lot of local restaurants or bars, at least when we were there. If you stay onboard rather than touring the locale of an evening, it’s a great experience. I would highly recommend it.
Wow. What a great place to stay.
Used to stay on the yatch regularly as wirk used to block book rooms for when working in London, loved it had some great nights on yhe yatch.
Loved the polished look.
All what I can think of is the word wow. I'm shocked 😅
Wow never stayed anywhere like that looked lovely and that view at sunset wow!
Wow I would love to stay here & thanks Tim 🛥️😋
Was curious about the Sunborn, been past it and looked at prices before. Great video...again x
Wow that looked really nice.
Hey Tim, thanks for this one, it looked really posh all the lights, mirrors and gold, and the best lift you've been in so far I think. Your room looked nice, balcony a plus for a nice evening drink looking over the water, enjoyed it thanks till next time stay safe, love to family xx
I've really been enjoying all your visits to unusual hotels!
" its a real strong door that closes on you" REALLY outstanding stuff
Timothy! If breakfast is included, you don't just get granola; you stuff your bag with as many sausages as it can fit 😆
yes it is and less of the othy :-)
sorry i'm catching up with your channel, have never heard of this hotel before but it looks incredible. thank you for showing this
Thanks for watching!
Looks lovely. I also recommend the Fingal Hotel Ship in Edinburgh
Congrats on 200k subs my bro keep it up 😊
Great video, I love how you mooch about everywhere 😆 I think the rooms lovely, heck yeh I would love to stay there especially with that view 🥰👍
You should!
Now we got sail with me Tim 😂
How about trying the craziest place to try out is the Windmill Campsite on the Isle of Wight where amongst the different types of accommodation is the James Bond submarine, I don’t think you will be disappointed Tim 😊
Oh wow , sounds amazing
YHA's. They're a world away from their old image and a line for so many families to be able to have holidays. We stayed in a lovely double room at Ilam Hall near Alton Towers and the Whitby YHA is right next to the abbey. Would love to see you review them for those without the money to stay in fancier places.
Oh wow i love it having the door open looks quite safe . I have seen the one in Gibralter from the outside. I am looking for somewhere to stay for christmas that comes with breakfast and dinner UK for a few days
Cool video Tim. The corridors remind me of the corridors which were on the 747 hotel 👍
Thank you Tim for the yacht experience really enjoyed your vlog as always. Didn't think the price was too bad really. Bathroom let the room down. Might give it a go. Till the next time
Love the view from your bedroom/balcony, Tim. Must give it a try . Thank you for sharing 👍.
You should!
Haven’t watched it yet but I’ve been on that boat every day for about 5 years way back as used to work for the daily telegraph in Canary Wharf and we used to send free copies there . So I used to drive them there . Beautiful hotel on the water
It was a very good blog today of you chilling out and staying in a super yacht hotel on the river Thames tim
I reckon that is the most shiny hotel that you have stayed in! Great location, the extra money was worth it for the view, shame about the air con though. I hope you are able to stay in the one in Gibraltar, now that would be fantastic! 😁 Thanks Tim 👍
Great video looks like a great stay, I would love to see a video at a days Inn
