    Great vid, and thank you for adding some animation & personality to it! Mono-tone sucks! Question; do you have a vid on best way to hold the camera? I’m going snowboarding in a few days. I like that POV boarding through the trees... how to hold it? Thanks!

    How do you make the video freeze but the camera continue to move. There is about a 3 second clip towards the beginning that it is in, and for the life of me, I can't get that to work.

    Nice tips sir!
    I am all excited about shooting little planet and more, but I am wondering how can I just capture a standard Hero 6 kind os flat video from fusion... Is it even remotely possible?

    • @BudDeWayne
      @BudDeWayne  6 лет назад

      Thanks! The B Roll I used was from a Fusion camera edited in Premiere Pro. In order to get decent Hero style shots, you have to use Overcapture. That can be done statically using Fusion Studio or if you install the plugins for Premiere you can use key framing to make it more dynamic and fluid through different angles. Fusion Studio is a pain, but damn the end result is pretty darn awesome... Who's got any 360 Overcapture ideas to contribute?

    Good explenation, thanks for that! Somehow I only get blurry rendering out of GoPro Fusion Studio. Any advice on that? I work with a windows laptop and Adobe Premiere Pro. For render export out for Fusion Studio I tried already H.264 and CineForm as well as 360 degrees or Overcapture...everything is blury. I filmed with 3K/60fps. Could it be my graphic card (Intel 520 with 8GB Dynamic Video Memory)? The rendering process is not slower than I think it would be with a newer card and I dont get any errors.

    How does it work to natively edit in FCP X 10.4 with VR support? Have you guys tried that yet? A video on that would be awesome.

    • @BudDeWayne
      @BudDeWayne  6 лет назад

      Not nearly as easy as using the plugin's in Premiere, especially if you are trying to normalize the 360 video into a traditional 16:9 shot. If they don't release plugins soon we may just have to show the world how much of a PITA it is. :)

    If only you could edit your clips in fusion studio it would be a breeze. If your specs isn't up for premiere then forget about it

    Everytime i playback videos before and after rendering video clips on Fusion Studio i see what looks like stitching lines which are green in colour which never go away on the video. The footage is always laggy and shows the lagged outline of any person moving which is really annoying. It is deeply upsetting. Please can you tell me how to fix this problem? Thank you.

    • @BudDeWayne
      @BudDeWayne  6 лет назад

      Unfortunately you cannot change the perspective dynamically the way you wish in the Fusion app. You have to use Premiere Pro. Check this out for reference: ruclips.net/video/f5sEhz-aNuM/видео.html

    Wow it takes that long just to look at what's in the files? Does it split everything up into 4GB chunks? If so, can you just look at one of those chunks without having to wait hours? I just got an Insta360 Nano, and what I like about it is how you can put your phone in the included cardboard VR viewer and relive the experience, controlling the view by moving your head around. I plan to take the Fusion with me on vacation and keep it pretty much recording all day long. I'm going to be running twin 256GB cards, and I got two 5TB external drives to store the footage. When I get home, I hope I'll be able to scan through the files without having to wait an eternity, or I may have to resort to using an Insta360 One. With the Insta360 Nano, I can play back my files instantly using the iPhone or desktop software. Does the Fusion make LRV files so that I can watch them on my phone right away? And if it does, does it have a VR playback option so that I can use a VR viewer box?

      @BudDeWayne  6 лет назад

      Yuuuuup on LRV and yep, they do split up in 4GB files, and Yep, the preview mode is done in VR so you can use a box if you feel so inclined... If you want to view the video's before they touch Fusion Studio you can look at the raw MP4 files OR the easiest is to bust out that iPhone/Android and look at it on the GoPro App. The app does it almost instantaneously, so it works best for checking shots those pesky shots. :)

      Oh my goodness, it is painfully slow! I just got my Fusion, and I made a short test video. When I tried to download a clip from the camera through the app, it failed due to an error. Then I tried making a 30 second clip for uploading to Facebook and RUclips, and it took forever (over 5 minutes in the iPhone app), and it has to use my cellular data because the WiFi connection is taken by the camera. I can't have that. It will use up all my data in an instant! The battery life is also horrendous. This is nothing like the virtually instant editing and sharing of the Insta360 Nano I have. I don't think the Fusion is for me =(. This is so sad. I just placed an order for an Insta 360 One and a 360 camera gimbal. Hopefully that will do the trick. I wish I had better news! The Fusion would be perfect if it had better software! Rylo is out because it can't be powered through the USB port and they have no desktop software. What were they thinking!?

    • @thingsdemystified
      @thingsdemystified 6 лет назад

      I haven't given up hope though. I'm processing the footage through GoPro's desktop software. Maybe I'll be so amazed by the quality that I'll have to use it =)

    • @thingsdemystified
      @thingsdemystified 6 лет назад

      Ok, the iPhone app keeps giving me errors as I try to do things. The desktop software just crashed after I waited like 30 minutes to render a 5 second video. I'm not going to give up yet!

    • @BudDeWayne
      @BudDeWayne  6 лет назад

      Be sure to capture about 30 seconds or so of video then set your in and out points to render out. This gives the camera time to capture data from the IMU in which doesn’t report right if clips are realllllllly short.
      Also make sure you are fully updated in your firmware and you are using fusion studio 1.1. Hope this helps!

    I can’t get it to work still in August 2018 wish I never bought it for every 5minutes of 3k filming is 1 hour of rendering for me

    Any word on a GoPro plugin for Final Cut?

    • @BudDeWayne
      @BudDeWayne  6 лет назад +2

      Yeah, we were wondering the same darn thing... FCPX 10.4 (Dec 17/Jan 18) update now supports VR and has built in effects to help handle it. It's too bad GoPro hasn't released it yet since those plugin's are FAR superior, but its not surprising since their plugin's are based off of the Omni and Oddesy rigs from back in the day that were Premiere only plugin's. Now that they have tailored the Fusion more toward the consumer crowd you would think that capability will be released, sometime, here, soon.... :)
