Debbie LaBanca, I tell my favorite reactors about the time machine all the time! After one good show, heads would pop, eyes and mouths wide open and me laughing my ass off!
I did this thing I would call “scare the band” I would get as close to the stage as possible and try to take over the show by being loud as fuck! I could actually compete with band volume when they slowed it down. They would just look at me and I was so lit up I would just laugh and make them drown me out! I thought it was fun and funny. They actually had to be louder than me! I was so obnoxious! But it worked! I was competition! Did it to several big bands!
Totally agree! I'm a few years behind you, but man, those concerts! I just sit here like an idiot with a huge smile on my face! So amazing! Such great memories! Keep up the great music! Lots more to discover!
Want a moment of jealousy? I saw them in concert at Madison Square Garden when this album came out, and during one song they broke out a special guest to sing backup on one song. And who was it? Just some guy named Elton John...
Disagree with those saying this song is about weed. People forget how clever this band is. It's a little red herring to throw people off with the Mary Jane thing. The song is about loving and leaving and not feeling too bad about it at all. Andy and Alex, your interpretation is on point. That was a fun reaction!
Perhaps you're starting to understand why our generation recalls fondly the music of our youth. We were blessed by various types of rock and we still wanted more. I truly feel the current generation will never truly understand how amazing the artists' were in the 60's 70's and 80's. Hopefully reaction sites like yours will continue to spread the music to the masses and perhaps it will trigger an explosion of artistic creativity that will seek to recapture the magic of the classic rock era.
A&A's reactions will hopefully spread the word to the current generation as to how great our music was. Can't understand why music sucks today! Has there been any song as good as this one in the last 20 years?
@@steveullrich7737 You got enough viagra to share for this "my music is better than their music" circle jerk? There is no generation where all the music sucks - just remember that Disco Duck is as much a part of your generation's music as anything else.
Another Suprrtramp "S Tier".. "Bloody Well Right" And an easy "A" to "A+"..."Give A Little Bit" And, of course, my continued push for GOV'T MULE "Mule" (Banging S tier, if ever an S tier banged. The bass line, alone, will change your life.) "Banks of the Deep End" "Mr. Man" "Gonna Send You Back To Georgia"
Being in that ‘60’ age bracket, I thank God I/we were born at a time in history to experience all of this as it was being created. Just guys playing their music. No auto tone just pure talent. What a time to be alive! Thrilled beyond belief the baton has been passed.
Amen to that, CC. It was the best time to grow up being a music fan. And it's important to pass it on to this generation. My daughter regularly wins bets on classic movie trivia at the bar/ restaurant where she works because I taught her well the importance of good music.
This album came out when I was in high school. Whoever thought that some 40 years later, I would be listening to a couple of guys listening to this for the first time and, being blown away by it. Thanks A&A for making it brand new again for me!
This reminds me of the morning after a HS keggar, when me and my friend who's family owned the property woke up early and had to fix the property after the party. Hung over and tired after 2 hours of cleanup driving back home in the pickup listening to Breakfast. Funny what you remember.
Welcome to the world of Rick Davies. You've been listening to songs written by Roger Hodgson, who has the best pop sensibilities of the band, but Rick Davies is the soul and emotion of the band. There are two singers. with Roger having the higher voice and Rick the lower voice. That's why I think most of the hard core fans want you to do songs from Crime of the Century. Rick really shines on that album.
I saw them live in Chicago in the 80's after Roger left. Thought I'd be a little disappointed. Nope. The show they put on... the quality sound, production, didn't miss him at all. Guys might want check out "Bloody Well Right" for another spectacular Davies led classic.
I like Crime of the Century better than Breakfast. Breakfast seemed to be a more radio friendly album with some great hits but Crime of the Century has a different feel to it.
You should start doing some of the Songs off Crime Of The Century which is SuperTramps Best album and one the best prog albums of the 1970s. Amazing songs like School, Bloody Well Right, Rudy and The title track.
Yep. I concur 100%. It's their best album. Not as poppy and as much fun as BIA but a far deeper, soulful album. The 2 opening tracks which run into each other are just brilliant.
@@burmajones803 I think they would dig Candy-O - it has more bite to it than most Cars songs. One of my fav tunes. Lotta great stuff on the first 2 albums, then they really went all 80s and lost me.
You gotta listen to some of The Kinks - Lola,All Day and All of the Night,You Really Got Me to name a few.....A British rock group from 1964 onwards, they are regarded as one of the most influential bands of the time
Would love it if they did the entire Muswell Hillbillies album. So many great choices from the Kinks and a number of different styles over the course of their discography.
The Kinks are CRIMINALLY underrated, and they are rated high. The whole Lola album is genius. Village Green ambum? Genius. Walter abum? Genius. They get looked at for there hits, which are amazing, but they made ridiculously smart concept albums
I agree with Patrick Adams. The Kinks were a band that pioneered a lot of Rock that was not in the usual British Invasion Rock at the time. They were ahead of the curve doing Reggae and Ska. The Kinks are more lyrical and vocally driven. In such songs as Lola and Sunny Afternoon. The only other band similar to the Kinks was the Who. The Who were just more dynamic as performers.
Andy said: "I just can't imagine someone going their whole life without hearing songs like this with this type of impact this type of thought this type of effort invested from the artist and producer" AMEN BROTHER!
Allman Brothers ..Live at the Fillmore East..Consistently rated greatest live album of all-time..one banger after another..GREATEST GUITAR ALBUM OF ALL TIME!!!!
Finally, somebody that knows what he's talking about. Lived in city they played a lot in the late 60s early 70s. Not a better live band when Dwayne was still with them
I'm old enough to remember when you could buy pre-recorded reel to reel tapes. Wow! I challenge anyone out there to name a better live album than ABB at Fillmore East. Duane & Dickey, Berry, Gregg, and Butch & Jaimoe ~ a true jamming machine.
I absolutely love to see young people experiencing the music I grew up with! I almost feel sorry for those who didn't get to live in the 70's-80s era! The quality of life seemed so much better then!
I know! I am in between your ages and theirs, I was born in 85 so didn't get to experience the 70's and 80's firsthand. But I was very lucky to have a mom that raised me on "classic rock" so I basically heard nothing but the best music growing up. I would give anything to have lived in your generation, and it definitely seems like things were better then.
I love when I was born. The 1970's were my childhood and the 1980's were my teens. Even though I am older now, I wouldn't want to be younger if I would have had to miss all that!
"Crime of the Century" is one that you should do the whole album. Every track is great and stands on its own. However, the album and progression of tracks tell the story of 'Rudy' through his life and you should really experience this album as a whole for the first time for full impact. Please consider this for your first full album reaction. Thanks and Cheers!
I second this, doing full album of Crime is on par (IMO) to doing the full album of Dark Side of the Moon. They are both albums with no bad songs and a great overarching theme.
Check out Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac for some tasty Blues guitar. Maybe "Oh Well'" or "Green Manalishi". Honestly, most people my age (59) missed this guy, cause he had a breakdown and left the band, but it was his band. And they were nothing like the pop Fleetwood Mac. plus, he died last week. RIP
I have been digging some of their live stuff, including a set at the Boston Tea Party where so many great bands played. It's like having a new band to listen to.
I live in Reno, NV. For a while last year I was going to an awesome 24-hr diner to get some late night work done over cheap food and with free wi-fi. One night the place was nearly empty and my waitress--very kind, and probably in her late 60s--walked by my table, singing along with "Goodbye Stranger" while it played behind the counter, maybe forgetting that I was there to see it. I have rarely been happier.
@@fukawininetynine5999 I remember it well--in part because I got the song stuck in my head and spent a little while after that listening to it in my car, remembering how much I liked it.
Guys check out the band! - the weight, with the staples singers - up on cripple creak - it makes no difference, last waltz version Great reaction by the way!
@@darrens2558 They did a poll for The Band, and "The Weight" seemed to be the song that got the most support. If Alex posted that on Instagram, my guess is that they have already made a reaction video for "The Weight", they just haven't posted it yet.
The documentary of their last live show, The Last Waltz (by Martin Scorsese) is fantastic... with killer performances by The Staple Singers, Van Morrison, Dr. John, and more!
Gents, I was a teen in the 70's and loved Supertramp. I started with "Crime of the Century" and by the time "Breakfast in America" came out they had become main stream top 40. This is why it does not surprise me that the most popular by vote all came from "Breakfast" . If you could please give the title track from "Crime" a listen you will hear an artful masterpiece and why the true fans prefer the older albums. Thanks for all you do, it's like discovering them anew.
Breakfast. Hey-um... hey-um...dop-dobba dah-dahhh, duten-do 🎵 (and more skattin' like that). I'd like to see "America," ... hoping it's going to come true 🎵🎵🎵 wheww, a little roller-coastery.
So it goes like this. 'Breakfast' songs are incredibly well crafted pop, a bit more accessible to mainstream music fans, great to listen to but probably not as impactful overall as their earlier work. 'Even in the Quietest Moments has more epic moments, with Fool's Overture leading the way. But Crime of the Century is the masterpiece, from start to finish. Years later, whenever they toured, they typically played all 8 songs from Crime. That just doesn't happen with normal albums.
I'm about to turn 20 and without a doubt this is one of my favorite songs. I stopped everything at work when I first heard it and it took me 2 YEARS to find the song. This, Easy Lover, Virtual Insanity, Hold the Line, and Renegade are my favorite songs ever!
I've watched this reaction dozens of times already. Mainly to see Andy put on that stink face at about 6:58 when the outro guitar solo kicks in. That is the quintessential reaction to that solo! Watching you guys during that solo... you looked like a pair of happy bobble-head dolls. 😁
I have to come back to this excellent comment just to say that the journey that Andy’s expressions took through that bridge section into the solo are my absolute favorite part of this video.
Imagine being us old folks, but not the elderly, us old folks who as teens, could turn on the radio, in the car, at home, and hear all this great music!!!!! I love this song and love the group, and, hey! love my youth! You bet goodbye stranger!
When I was subscribed to Sirius XM I would listen to a station that played a lot of music from this era e.g Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Stevens etc and it opened my eyes to a lot of amazing music, Supertramp included
This was the most fun reaction, ever!! I never seen Alex so speechless for a moment. For me this is a perfect song. I hope you will get to do entire album review of "Crime of the Century".
I was on hold with Macy's and they were playing Mr. Blue Sky. Singing along I'm thinking Alex and Andy HAVE to do this song because they will LOVE it! Yep, I'm officially addicted to your channel, guys. 😁
The Wurlitzer had a harder tone. You could bang on a Wurlitzer. The Rhodes was more mellow. Jazz bands tended to use Rhodes and rock bands tended to use Wurlitzers. You also had the Hohner Pianet which John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin used. The Wurlitzer, Rhodes and Hohner all had hammers that struck tuning rods or reeds. There was also the RMI Electra Piano which used transistors instead of a hammer action. It's the sound of Deep Purple and Dream On by Aerosmith and Billy Preston with the Rolling Stones. All of these keyboards were used extensively in the seventies and are a HUGE part of the sound of seventies music. All of them were out of production by the mid-eighties. Once digital synths and samplers came in they were considered too heavy and temperamental. You didn't have to tune digital synths and samplers. But no digital synth sounds or plays like a real electric piano.
Wurlitzer one for the money Two for the show Three to get ready Now go, cat, go

Greetings from London, Ont. Canada guys. You're my favorite reaction channel and as an older guy I didn't even think I'd like the genre, but your reaction to Born On The Bayou made me a fan.
good shout. I checked out a few of their albums during lockdown as 'she sells sanctuary' is one of my favourite songs of all time. 'King contrary man', 'revolution' and 'love removal machine' stand out.
This was the band my son and I connected on. All because of a Tony Hawk video game that had She sells Sanctuary on it. I heard the song, walked into his room and opened a new door for him.
If you do The Allman Brothers complete "Live at The Fillmore East" You'll be nothing but a couple of quivering masses of jelly buried in the sauce at the end.
I always loved this line: "Hope you find your paradise Tried to see your point of view Hope your dreams will all come true". It adds a touch of sweetness to the "see you later" meaning.
Basically the entire album front to back for Breakfast in America! A desert island must have. Oh Darling has to be my favorite ( and my sisters) - it's the kind of song that gives you goosebumps! SO good.
THIS is my all time favorite reaction vid!! I have seen hundreds. Not only is Supertramp phenomenal, but the album cover features "Libby" (see her name tag... aka Liberty) as she holds the glass of orange juice (depicting the statue of liberty torch). The New York skyline is made up of items you'd see on a table in an American diner. Brilliant!!
To be honest, I've never been much of a Supertramp fan. I knew they were a talented band, but aside from "The Logical Song," they just didn't do it for me. But listening to the song through your ears gave me a whole new appreciation for it-the subtleties and sophistication of the composition something I'm feeling now. So thank you for even getting old guys turned on to stuff we've grown up with! :)
So true. I’ve always liked the song but I now know I really took it for granted listening to it through you guys. It really is a fantastic song. Very diverse and unique. I am a spoiled guy from the seventies who didn’t always appreciate the music we had. Although I think this song is 1980. It feels seventies to me.
Dougie had just bought a brand new Music Man Stingray a few weeks before starting the production of this album. He used it for the whole album strung with flatwound strings. Killer bass tone!
And you haven't even heard anything from the Crime of the Century, which I consider to be their best album, though I also like the songs from Even in the Quietest Moments.
I was really taken back a little at how much they loved this one. Then again I guess we just have the benefit of knowing what lies ahead. This one's good, but it's all relative.
Double vocal attack. Davies (keys) is the lower register one, Hodgson (guitar, keys) is the higher register one. Hodgson is such an underrated electric guitarist imho.
S Tier all the way!! OMG.. LOL! You two are hilarious... Thanks for the laughs out loud - literally. Jeez, we're showing you songs on how to "lay pipe" without mercy! ;) Pimps in training? jk lol I'll let ya in a little secret... We women know! haha. Had a blast & loved the breakdown. This Supertramp album is probably one of my favorites. Have a great day and thanks for the laugh! Later! :)
Days Of Future Passed would be a great full-album reaction, since it is one continuous piece of music. Saw the Moodies on their 50th anniversary tour that featured them playing the whole album as one piece.
So I laughed for like 30 seconds when you told Andy "I legit thought you were were whistling..." and yes, it was after one glass of wine, but really, really funny anyway. I love that you are such comfortable friends--it actually makes all the difference. That natural laugh I spoke of would not have happened if you understand what I'm trying to tap into....you are utterly real w/ one another and it translates. That's why I will always be back to watch you two. Don't ever wreck your friendship. It's priceless.
Ok guys - I’m speaking up for the females! You want an album - I have the perfect one - by Carole King, Tapestry! If you guys did this it would truly be one of the best decisions you ever made on this channel! Every song on this album is great!
Peter Henderson produced Supertramp, he spent 9 months working on the Breakfast In America album for Supertramp thinking it would end his career. The next Supertramp song you should do is Dreamer. The singer is the same for every song.
I keep returning to this reaction. It's criminal how underrepresented this song is on the radio. I love how the cymbal or high hat, or whatever that is doing the "chikachickachicka" noise. It makes me picture the singer having hopped on a train to sneak out of town in the middle of the night.
This is late and you probably won't see it, but that is done by Roger on the guitar with the wah pedal. If you find the Paris video for "Another Man's Woman" you will see Roger doing it on that song too.
I am 53 years old. the first album I bought was Crime of the Century when I was eleven. Then Breakfast in america, Even in the Quietest Moments, and all the others. Since then I have been a fan of rock, hard rock, new wave, jazz, funk, classical, French songs, and many other things. Tastes pass but my love for supertramp never faded. And despite all these years, I still discover new details with each listen. Supertramp is part of my worldview. I would certainly not be the same if I had not known this music.
Had to laugh about Alex’s comment about riding around with a “girlfriend” and putting this on. Back when I was dating my future husband mid 80’s, REO’s Time for Me To Fly came on the radio and we were both just belting it out. One of those perfect summer days, riding around, romance in that early exciting stage. It did, however, run through my head about 3/4th through the song, “Is he looking at me a little too intensely? Is he trying to give me a subliminal message and that this is only going to be a summer romance?” Just too perfect of a song and day to worry that much about it. He cracked up when I confessed my thoughts after we were married, he was just singing.
Funny, I just ask Andy and Alex to react to REO SPEEDWAGON'S REO T.W.O. album. 😂 But they only react if many people request it.😥 Can you help me out by requesting it too? 😊😁
@@clearwater9118 yes do any REO stuff. T.W.O. and You Can Tuna Piano But You Can't Tuna Fish album " Roll With The Changes' Time For Me To Fly, Say You Love Me Or Say Goodnight. and related to this song. Back on the Road Again. from Nine Lives. REO! REO! REO! REO! REO! Let's get it going
Roger Hodgson is not your typical guitarist. He doesn't go nuts with his solos, but rather plays melodic leads that suit the song. One of the most underrated guitarists in rock IMHO. DO BLOODY WELL RIGHT!
David Gilmour is in the similar vein, though obviously much more technically skilled. But he was clear that he didn't play like Clapton a) because he couldn't play like Clapton and b) because he thought his melodic version sounds better (I agree). And one can't forget that Hodgson is also a solid keyboardist, where Dave had zilch. In also, Roger Hodgson was a tremendously talented bloke.
@@kentclark6420 Sure, but do any of us regret that they went with Howe? Both Yes and Supertramp ended up being radically different bands through these personnel changes. Besides, Jon Anderson wanted virtuosos only. As much as I love both Hodgson and Gilmour, neither punched that ticket for them. They created a ton of beauty in their own metiers.
Great react, honestly one of your best. Full Album React suggestion - The Cars 1978 Self Titled debut, aka The Cars "Greatest Hits" due to the fact that 6 of the records 9 songs received heavy radio airplay and 3 of them were Top 40 hits. A stone cold rock classic.
I'm a millennial but I was raised on this. It reminds me of my old man. He's my hero. When they first moved here to the US from Tonga in 1970 he was in High School and this music is all they knew in Hawaii along with disco and reggae. Then moving here to Utah in 76 this is all they listened to. We grew up listening to my pops music and I'm so glad we did. I'm able to sit and talk with any OG about oldies, funk, mo town, classic rock and country. 💯✊🏾 Thanks for sharing guys!
Good-bye Mary, Good-bye Jane- it's about stopping smoking weed. "Some they will, and some they won't, and some you just can't tell". One of the reasons the chorus section where the guitars kick in works so well is that the first chord is a Ab7/Gb. It gives a bit of dissonance that hits extra hard. One of the coolest guitar solo opening ever at the end of the song. Let's pound that single note for measure after measure before busting loose! Now, you'll need to do "Bloody Well Right" after this for yet another flavor of ST.
If you read the lyrics in their entirety, the song clearly isn't about stopping smoking weed. Mary and Jane are common woman names. I wouldn't deny the possibility of there being a reference to marijuana, but that’s obviously not what the song is about.
No it's not. It's about an amoral womanizer who is sizing up his next conquests and talking about playing the numbers. Some will, some won't, some are hard to read and some are just so heinous or unappealing it's just as well that they don't. All the lyrics surrounding this passage support this interpretation.
Nah the only influence weed had in this song is he was probably smoking it when he wrote it lol. Like the above poster said it's simply about a womanizing dude getting his rocks off with as many women as possible. Besides , why would anyone quit smoking weed lol ?
It's most definitely not about quitting weed. I saw their last concert in 1983, Roger retired and moved to Northern California, not far from where I grew up. Those parts are known as the Emerald Triangle :)
I simply love how this song brought you out of your funky mood Alex. I laugh out loud to your reactions knowing what I felt like in the 70s hearing them for the first time. Central California gets huge props for realizing their magic before they hit it big. Supertramp always thanked us for getting their name out there by playing them in heavy rotation on radio and buying their albums.
It’s weird you say that...I live in Central CA and Supertramp was heavy rotation in our house when I was a kid. Always thought they were phenomenal but wondered why they didn’t seem as appreciated as other bands of 70’s. Maybe this explains it!
Chris H - Yes, the DJ’s were proud to say that we were their favorite stop on tour because we appreciated them early on when others weren’t quite sure of them. I saw them in Fresno’s Selland Arena the day after one of the band member’s wife had given birth. They talked about that. That was one of my favorite concerts because they gave so much love to us.
Love this song and that you had such a great reaction to it! One thing about Supertramp is that their sound is uniquely theirs. No other group sounds anything like them. And they play with musical styles that are so vastly different from each other (like ragtime and doo-wop). So much creativity and talent. Next on the list should be ✅ “Bloody Well Right” and then the title track from this LP, ✅ “Breakfast in America.”
Your music knowledge and background places you in my top 3 of Reactors. Being a musician myself, with theory background, I understand your conversations and I felt this way when I first heard these songs.
Yeah, Bloody Well Right has to be next. I so love it when you love the music I grew up on and listened to a thousand times. It's almost like hearing it again for the first time...
I'm pushing...AGAIN...for the title track from Even In The Quietest Moments. Beautiful, haunting, a lost in the sauce song if ever there was one. Trust me. I didn't steer you wrong on The Last Resort, did I?
I am 22, visited Vegas for the first time, and played this every time I was back at the hotel and had down time just because it showed up randomly on my playlist early in my visit. Oh, how fitting it was to that city. Great time.
Love when the whistling comes in.. 😙 Rick Davies sings Goodbye Stranger and Roger Hodgson sings The Logical Song and Take The Long Way Home. Peter Henderson and Supertramp were the Producers..

Being in that ‘60’ age bracket, I thank God I/we were born at a time in history to experience all of this as it was being created. Just guys playing their music. No auto tone just pure talent. What a time to be alive!
Thrilled beyond belief the baton has been passed.
Amen brother....all those concerts for $8 - $10 each to hear the most wonderful rock and roll....real rock
Amen to that, CC. It was the best time to grow up being a music fan. And it's important to pass it on to this generation. My daughter regularly wins bets on classic movie trivia at the bar/ restaurant where she works because I taught her well the importance of good music.
Can I agree even if I'm ONLY 58? 😆
How many times did you burn your thumbs, "flicking your bic" during and after?
Amen to that !!! I just don’t understand why or where the creativity went Rock on guys
Well some things are just timeless...
You're welcome.
Breakfast seemed to be a more radio friendly album with some great hits but Crime of the Century has a different feel to it.
great reply
Yeah, _Crime of the Century_ and _Even in the Quietest Moments..._ are both superior albums to this one (and _Crisis? What Crisis?_ is nearly on par).
You should start doing some of the Songs off Crime Of The Century which is SuperTramps Best album and one the best prog albums of the 1970s. Amazing songs like School, Bloody Well Right, Rudy and The title track.
"School" is the best track, IMO, followed by "Rudy", but the whole album is a masterpiece.
That should be one of their full album videos, great album.
Definitely the title track, it's my fave
Yep. I concur 100%. It's their best album. Not as poppy and as much fun as BIA but a far deeper, soulful album. The 2 opening tracks which run into each other are just brilliant.
I'm 75 and this was our music ! !
ALBUM: The Cars - Candi-O
Great album, I think they should listen to their debut album first though
I have been suggesting The Cars debut album for a while now.
Love Candy-O. Such a great song. Their debut album is chock o' block full of hits, but this is their best song, IMO.
@@burmajones803 I think they would dig Candy-O - it has more bite to it than most Cars songs. One of my fav tunes.
Lotta great stuff on the first 2 albums, then they really went all 80s and lost me.
I love this suggestion.
Waterloo Sunset is one the greatest written and composed rock songs ever imo.
"Hollywood Boulevard"
Andy said: "I just can't imagine someone going their whole life without hearing songs like this with this type of impact this type of thought this type of effort invested from the artist and producer" AMEN BROTHER!
The outtro to this song is one of those that you never want to end. Just spectacular.
Man getting into his car and driving off into the sunset.
Allman Brothers ..Live at the Fillmore East..Consistently rated greatest live album of all-time..one banger after another..GREATEST GUITAR ALBUM OF ALL TIME!!!!
For real. My sister had this album on reel to reel back in the 70's. It was amazing! I LOVE this album!
Finally, somebody that knows what he's talking about. Lived in city they played a lot in the late 60s early 70s. Not a better live band when Dwayne was still with them
Agreed! This is the album the guys need to react to,
I'm old enough to remember when you could buy pre-recorded reel to reel tapes. Wow!
I challenge anyone out there to name a better live album than ABB at Fillmore East. Duane & Dickey, Berry, Gregg, and Butch & Jaimoe ~ a true jamming machine.
I love me some Supertramp! Give a Little Bit, Bloody Well Right, Dreamer.

I'm 27 and this is my style of music, but my friends wont listen lol
Same here sauce boss
Your friends lack depth of music appreciation.
Their loss!...🤔😕
Widen your circle of friends bro'.
27 here too! Love this music!! Wish more of my friends did too
Back in the analog days, sales people would put this album on to demonstrate the quality of the speakers on stereo systems.
I remember a record store used The Wall and Permanent Waves for that. Never recovered!
Yup. Those were them days...💕😀
Hi def !!

OMG.....LMAO!!!!
David Wilcox would like a word.
I'm 71.... what's you talkin bout 🤔🤤😁
My thoughts also!
Lol I'm 66 and laid some pipe yesterday
Good joke
@@ninja_tonyuh no lol
Aye.
I totally concur :D
could not agree more:)))))
100% agree, excellent choice for a album reaction!!
School
Album: Toys in the attic by Aerosmith
Wore two 8 tracks out in High school.
Or Rats In The Cellar, either way.
Uncle Salty❤
Yes'Yes!!!!!!!The whole album!!
Every track is stellar. That album defines the 70's.
I like Alex’s liberal use of “goodness gracious.” I’m heartened to hear that these sayings have been passed down the generations.
Andy should add "great balls of fire!" every once in a a while, to complete the famous Jerry Lee Lewis lyrics, but mostly just to mess with Alex.
Haha, I'm Dutch and use it sometimes. It just sounds way too good!
RIP
Need Your Love So Bad is one of my favorites.
Green Manalishi... I really enjoy Judas Priests version also.
I have been digging some of their live stuff, including a set at the Boston Tea Party where so many great bands played. It's like having a new band to listen to.
Sweetest guitar tone ever. “Oh Well” is one of the coolest bangers ever.
Oh Well is a great song
I live in Reno, NV. For a while last year I was going to an awesome 24-hr diner to get some late night work done over cheap food and with free wi-fi. One night the place was nearly empty and my waitress--very kind, and probably in her late 60s--walked by my table, singing along with "Goodbye Stranger" while it played behind the counter, maybe forgetting that I was there to see it. I have rarely been happier.
cjcoake a VERY cool story, man. If you wrote fiction, that would be something you would write down and save for a novel...

Funny you recall that.....Simple pleasures.
@@fukawininetynine5999 I remember it well--in part because I got the song stuck in my head and spent a little while after that listening to it in my car, remembering how much I liked it.
Roger Hodgson was the singer on Take the Long Way Home. Rick Davies was the singer on Goodbye Stranger. Two great songwriters in one band.
Roger also played the guitar solo at the end of this song.
Guys check out the band!
- the weight, with the staples singers
- up on cripple creak
- it makes no difference, last waltz version
Great reaction by the way!
Alex very recently put a video on Instagram working out to the The Weight. So he's heard it and probably has no idea.

Thanks for all you do, it's like discovering them anew.
same.
This!
Earlier supertramp is so much better unfortunately it's not the way the votes are going
Así es, amigo! tienes toda la razon. Esperamos esas reacciones
Breakfast. Hey-um... hey-um...dop-dobba dah-dahhh, duten-do 🎵 (and more skattin' like that). I'd like to see "America," ... hoping it's going to come true 🎵🎵🎵 wheww, a little roller-coastery.

Incredible. Supertramp is incredible. Just as great as Goodbye Stranger is "School". Another "S" track. Their top 2 tracks IMO
Definitely!
SCHOOL!!!!
I second that!
Listen to this man!!!
Crisis? What Crisis? ... a great album, as well.
I can only agree.....' Crime of the Century ' is one of the greats
Yeah crime of the century is a great album should review it all.
I'm about to turn 20 and without a doubt this is one of my favorite songs. I stopped everything at work when I first heard it and it took me 2 YEARS to find the song.
This, Easy Lover, Virtual Insanity, Hold the Line, and Renegade are my favorite songs ever!
Great taste in music!
Try Midnight Confession by The Grass Roots.
Everyone above a certain age owns this album in one format or another. It was ubiquitous in the late 70's and early 80's. Great song, great album!
I love how this old stuff makes you so happy which makes me happy.
Bloody well right needs to be next, I’m telling you fellas, their early stuff slaps too.
I actually preferred the title track "Breakfast In America" over other cuts from this album. But great review guys
Imagine being us old folks, but not the elderly, us old folks who as teens, could turn on the radio, in the car, at home, and hear all this great music!!!!! I love this song and love the group, and, hey! love my youth! You bet goodbye stranger!

"Is that a Rhodes?" No. It's a Wurlitzer electric piano. Competitor to the Rhodes - but it was it's own thing.
And a lot lighter to carry
@@koshersalaami Ain't that the truth!

Dougie Thompson on bass is totally underrated. He drives that whole album
Dougie had just bought a brand new Music Man Stingray a few weeks before starting the production of this album. He used it for the whole album strung with flatwound strings. Killer bass tone!
I couldn't agree more! Dougie's bass work on Child of Vision is a master class.
You gotta love any guy who exclaims, "Goodness gracious!"
Freddie Mercury said that to a group of fans outside the Adelphi hotel in Liverpool in 1977. I was one!
And you haven't even heard anything from the Crime of the Century, which I consider to be their best album, though I also like the songs from Even in the Quietest Moments.

Peter Henderson produced Supertramp, he spent 9 months working on the Breakfast In America album for Supertramp thinking it would end his career.
The next Supertramp song you should do is Dreamer. The singer is the same for every song.
Rick Davies & Roger Hodgson have two pretty distinct voices.

Roger Hodgson is not your typical guitarist. He doesn't go nuts with his solos, but rather plays melodic leads that suit the song. One of the most underrated guitarists in rock IMHO. DO BLOODY WELL RIGHT!
By Roger’s own admission, he didn’t do fast technical things because he couldn’t. But it worked for him and the band.
And he plays keys bloody well amazing too.
@@David-iv6je I think he would have had fun jamming with Yes.
Your first full Album reaction should definitely be "Aja" by Steely Dan. Every song is perfection.
Honestly, this song is in my top 10 favourite songs of all time. I don't know why, but this song just has something. Rock On!
Yesss! My second favourite Supertramp song.
