I love how all these comments are fairly recent. I didn"t know of MLB until the movie "Singles". I wore the soundtrack cassette out! Went down the rabbit hole watching videos of all our greats that have passed. Turning 58 this Sept- probably shear luck to make it this far given all the stupid shit I did in the 80's and early 90's. A poster called Andy "Stargazer"- that hits hard. Even though I didn't know of his music until the movie, I feel like I lost a friend. Gen X sure had an amazing time growing up...
The sound of the Rock scene changed a lot between the mid 80's to the mid 90's. I feel like Mother Love Bone was the perfect transition from one sound to another. It's a shame that they were only able to record one studio album. Andrew had so much range in his voice.
Boldly transitioning from Stargazer (slow tempo) into China Bone (another slowed down piece) was carried off beautifully. Andy looked and sounded masterful and the audience appeared rather mesmerized. Guy was a natural performer and surprisingly effective song writer.
I was somewhere in the crowd here. I've seen mother love bone two or three other times at much smaller venues earlier as well. (I'm just here, remembering my old days)
@@Bassin253 Yes. They were a hotter spot in the 80s and 90s, whether bands played there or not. Eventually they didn’t hold showcases like this later in the 90s.
He was hot he short self so cute ❤️these Seattle guys are all so hot, damn , mercy. RIP all you kings gone but NEVER forgotten your music will continuously play to the end of time❤️
DEFINITELY ONE OF THE BEST. Also, one of the most important people in ROCK HISTORY. He literally changed the trajectory by dying…… it hurts to think what he could have done had he lived.
Sh Sh Showdown with Andy asking for more guitar euphoria from Stoney. If this song doesn't do it for you nothing else will.Continuous repeat if you please.
Good lord I hope you're referring to other videos or perhaps maybe seeing this band live??? Because flipping your hair from one side to the other isn't much movement... but hey am just a dude and what ever makes you hot have at it

YES IT IS!!! I miss Shawn so bad. And he missed Andy so bad. THOSE were the two love gods that ruled the land. What a castle court in the kingdom of heaven it is now. I figure, with Hendrix & Bonham up there too, they are set & making beautiful music. All those buds, Chris & Layne too, it's gotta be a glorious party.
To be fair, Van Halen is one of the greatest bands of all time. Innovative and ground-breaking. So, yeah, you're not a "dope" for liking them..... Motley Crue, on the other hand...............DOPE
I was just talking to someone today about how I was here in the Seattle area, and the same age as most of these guys, yet oblivious to the local music scene in those days. Truth is most of us were just into the big international sensations and only discovered these guys later when the rest of the world did. I really missed out on a lot. I've been diving deeper into the rabbit hole of what I missed.

Hard to believe Andrew Wood has been gone for 32yrs.....
He was one of my very best friends . Look what he did. Thank you Andy for Seattle rock and inspiration for us all
I love Andrew Wood’s voice!! He was amazing 🤩 RIP Stargazer ❤

At least there’s his malfunction music / with his brilliant brother Kevin Wood💜📚🦓🔮💰💜💜🎉🎉❤💜🦓📚🦓💜❤💜
Range is criminally overrated. Tone is what is important. Axl Rose "had" range but he also had a horrendously bad tone to his voice. ......

"Man of Golden Words" says it all -
All the rich grungers owe him for bringing attn to Seattle !!!

No, they owe Kurt.

Actually Andrew was long before kurt-

It doesn't get much smaller than this.
I love it that the songs aren’t fully formed yet. Just an amazing band that got better.
I was at this show. Black Is Black opened and then Alice In Chains played before the headliner, Mother Love Bone. Skate King Kent Washington.
Both of us were.
I was there also and Andy was amazing
Are you saying this was at the skating rink in Kent skate king?

Such an amazing time for NW rock!

One of my faves to this very second.
Hello Brother Andrew-
I was there that night with my mother. . she was the prettiest lady there
Strange thing to say...kind of creepy.
Andy had moves better than jagger. That strutting is so badass..And i find his dance moves so hot
Almost everything about him was sexy. His slow Southern style and and deliberate pronunciation was and is something totally unique. One in infinity.
Pretty much anyone is better than try hard boomer Jagger...
@@LordStompyHarpLoonyTunes Andy wouldn't think so

I was a kid when I knew him looking back. He was so much fun we practiced in the mirror those moves. Well if he wasn't playing with his true love.
Haunting. What could have been...

Mother Love Bone R&B rocks with eye candy Landrew.
Minute 12:30: It is Shawn Smith ...

He was a showman & got Seattle noticed ..& they all got rich!!!
That heroin ravaged them tho😪
Andy died before he saw any significant money
Andy was such a good friend that in my early life I thought he was Rock God to find out I was right is part of the strength I have today
the girls gone crazy!
And the crowd knew full well... while the rest of us dopes were obsessed with Van Halen and Mötley Crüe.

Why does it sound like a CD skipping in the beginning?
Maybe it was transferred to a DVD early on, and there was a skip. Just a guess.
