This might be pretty known already but a cool detail I noticed is that Ranni and Rennala's moons are actually two different moons. Rennala's moon can be seen in the Mountaintop of the Giants while facing East and Ranni's moon in the Cathedral of Manus Celes area in Liurnia while facing North.
That’s definitely a cool detail. It’s been suggested that the symbol visible on the moon* is actually the location of Ranni’s Great Rune. (This may seem weird but I suddenly have an inkling that moon may be a DLC location. I have a really hard time imagining that her rune won’t be obtainable after all the DLC is released, and it would be really cool if there was actually a hint of that in the base game by way of the rune on the moon.) *I guess in this context it would be “Ranni’s moon” rather than “the moon”
I feel I have to point out that the fallingstar beasts and astel's jaws are clearly meant to be reminiscent of antlion jaws and sure enough the fallingstar beasts resemble antlion larva and astel resembles an adult antlion
Yea exactly! That was my first thought when I saw one. I first found out about Antlions from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and always thought they were cool looking.
I'm pretty intelligent but I'm so glad there are ppl like u much smarter than me to point this out lol (for those of u who think I'm being sarcastic..I'm not..This kind of thing is GENUINELY appreciated by me)
8:30 Near the death-infected crabs, you can also encounter a big one that infects you with Death with its water spout attack. It confused the shit out of me when it nearly instantly killed me with its massive Death build-up
You can find a big one that does the same south of the Carian Study hall in a little foresty patch with water and a bunch of skeletal remains, near one of the Mariners.
@@NoOne0808 Eh same. I was kiting dung eater around for shits n giggles and he walked through that water jet attack which instantly deathblight one shot him. Pretty awesome watching the dung eater just get violated by spiked tendrils haha.
Godrick really reminds me of Viserys Targaryen. He wants to go home He’s obsessed with his birthright to the throne, unlike those pretender kings. He resorts to hiring mercenaries because his army is decimated. He’s weak, cruel and desperate.
Godrick starts becoming my favorite character in the game, starting to come close even to Godfrey. He is just so wonderfully rich in nuance. On the one hand, he does terrible, terrible things, on the other hand you can feel the pressure pressing down on him, of validating himself in the face of his ancestors, driving him borderline insane.
I dunno if it's just how bright it is out here rn and it's hard to see my phone properly, but that looks like two separate dragon skeletons to me. Where is his other remaining head, and most importantly, the stumps for the other three? I saw _heaps_ of these skeletons around farum Azula iirc, a missing horn is a pretty weak connective detail if you ask me
8:17 The “Faces” on the crabs are probably inspired by the real life Japanese Heikegani Crabs. The crabs also resemble faces and therefore were believed to be reincarnations of samurai and not eaten out of respect.

hey man i appreciate your efforts to uncover the secrets and giving us lore :) that being said, i think a few of these are stretching it just a notch. i don't think those dragon skellies imbedded into the wall in Farum Azula is actually the Psadorsicasdashudas-whatever its name is. first off, there's clearly the skeletons of two dragons there and none of them are 2 headed. (SPOILERS BELOW) what i do find interesting though, is the possible connection between psadaisduiuiasuidsad and Marika/Radagon. both seem to have hosted an elden ring at one point or another, as we can see from the ancient elden ring symbol in Malekith's chamber, and the fact that they both share the "two become one" phenomenon. whereas Marika and Radagon are one and the same with interchangable personalities, Psadorasdhuhausdbsjnjd simply has 2 heads. my theory is that Marika learned how to merge with another being by studying this ancient dragon or the elden ring runes in its lair (which Malekith now occupies) and that's how she learned how to merge with Radagon. anyway, hope to see more videos soon. one can never learn too much about Elden Ring :)
@@ZugzugZugzugson problem with the two become on bit, is that Placidux had 4 heads at one point. I assume that he was wounded during the war against the ancient dragons, probably against Godfrey, after that big one attacked the capital (whims body is still there).
@@rustyshackleford3269 not really, we know the Elden Ring has existed since the prehistoric age. I imagine that was before the original age of the stars. Since the Elden Ring is nothing more than a vassal of the Greater Will, the outer gods likely existed longer
@@Ziostorm the high implication is that the greater will is one of many “gods” who may or may not inhabit space in some form. From the Fell fire god, astel, Mogh’s “formless mother”, and the gloam eyed queen it’s safe to say there are many deities who inhabit this universe and their will can seemingly be imposed for their own “greater will” if they choose to do so, it just seems like this golden order wanted it more than the others. And head cannons have taken shots at Radahn possibly holding back the “stars” for the greater will to prevent another god of their level from invading. And Ranni’s ending being an invitation for them in a way. And I wouldn’t consider this greater will to be some all powerful primordial power when they had to enact a crusade level war in order to establish their rule in the lands. And even enact a truce in a way with the house of Raya Lucaria and marrying Radagon with Rennala.
@@Ziostorm The prehistoric age refers to the time before the golden order, the term elden lord does not belong solely to those who are lord consort to the one who bears the elden ring, after all Marika was not the first god however she was simply the god who bore the elden ring. a great example is elden lord Placidusax who together with his dragon god ruled over that prehistoric age before the arrival with the elden beast, we also know this dragon god did not bear the elden ring since Marika fought against the dragons while it was within her body, we also know this because the order of the erd tree rejects almost everything not completely human to the point that beings like demihumans and misbegotten are outcast and are deemed monsters and hunted or enslaved by the direction of this will, other races and Ideologies that predated Marika and the elden rings rule were put to the sword and torch, the astrologers who predated the sorcerers lived atop the mountain top of the giants to the north to be closer to the stars, predated the sorcerers, the academy already existed by the time Marika came into power. while the elden best may be designed after something we can not assume that it was the greater will that created all stars, as the order of the start is completely different than the order created personally by the greater will, and we also know that there was a great tree before the erd tree which is why we have the crucible knights who otherwise would have been deemed heretics and executed so there were even orders of knights predating the elden ring, my best speculation (yes ill admit whats next is speculation) is this the previous ages were "prehistoric" simply because they were pre golden history and were therefor erased end of speculation, farum azula existed long before and clearly had histories written as they had written religion and technologies and magic to remove their kingdom from time, we dont go back in time to face Placidusax we go outside of time, we know this because it says that his arena exists within the storm outside of time which also probably means he's still technically alive if we take that outside of time bit literally AND THAT WOULD BE AWESOME FOR A DRAGON DLC anyways I think im sort of rambling from my original point of the greater will didnt create all of the stars, especially since the greater will is associated with gold thats why it sent a "golden star to the lands between" not the cold blue stars that Radahn held back or Ranni seeks to bring into a new order to replace the old a golden star to impose the greater wills well... will upon the lands between.... sorry for the thesis, I've been delving into everything I can find to form my theories and confirm what I may know or prove myself wrong, if anyone can please correct any inaccuracies I'd appreciate it, we're all learning together!
The Wing Of Astel curved sword deals extra damage to 'void' enemies. This counts for both Astels, and the smaller immobile ones dotted around Ainsel River. But they deal extra damage to the Fallingstar enemies also. Another connection between the two different types of foes.
As far as the Falling Star Beasts.... Look at the life cycle of the antlion. It's nearly identical. I like to think that the full-grown falling star beast is only full-grown in that portion of its life cycle. It can then turn into something like Astel when its life cycle is truly complete. Which makes sense considering that Astel isn't the only boss with that form.
@@pebrockk agreed. It could also be that in the sense of the surface occurrences for the Beasts, they're fully grown in the sense that they won't grow further and in order to reach their full maturity/potential, the meteor that they spawned from needed to reach the subterranean region. Notice that the ones occurring underground are developed in to the direction of Astel and not that of some kind of bull. The only occurrences of subterranean fallingstar beasts being underground, but still like the surface style are those in cave bossfights. It's not entirely clear on how those fights might fit in to the lore or even if they do, but if ignore those, the lifecycle seems to be dependent upon the depth of the initial impact crater. There's also the tie-in to Ranni in that to get to the Moonlight Altar, Astel must first be defeated. I haven't pondered the significance just yet, but given the Ranni/Vishna correlation, there's sure to be one, lore-wise.
I love the design element of the black crystalline structure of the young/new Fallingstar Beasts, as it looks a lot like when you put a magnet near iron ore, as the iron ore will stand on end and stick out like what you see on these beasts when they are new. I doubt they are truly magnetic and it might be a design choice to represent their gravity powers just causing gravitational pull towards them like a magnetic field.
The cut content found by Sekiro Dubi has some implications for caelid and Radahn. The finger maiden refers to Radahn as the giant slayer. Could this mean that the giant skeletons we see in Caelid were long ago killed by Radahn. Might even be that Radahn was granted the region of Caelid after this action as its regent.
Radahn is the Lord of Caelid, I think there's an Item description or NPC dialogue that says as much, I can't remember where though. I just remember it was mentioned.
@@Ziostorm We know that Radahn idolized Godfrey who also went to war with the giants. Radahn could have also seen it as a way to follow in Godfrey's footstep by also waring with the giants. Radahn's height, having red hair, the redmanes affinity to fire and now the cut content that further connects Radahn and the giants. Hopefully we get more lore in the DLC, a lot of the cut content dialogues seem to be from before the shattering and Godfrey's dialogue seem to be from when we was banished from the lands between and before his death and eventual return.
Probably was just an early idea before the lore was finished, much like how in the same cut dialogue Horah Roux (Probably R instead of L because I don't believe the Japanese have any equivalents to the letter L in their language, hence words with L end up being pronounced with an R sound there) was the actual given name of Goldmask instead of being Godfrey's original name. Maybe an earlier/alternative idea for his title instead of being a Conqueror of Stars
Concerning the deathroot crabs, after checking the geography, they spawn directly above Deeproot Depths. It's possible that the soil beneath the lake the crabs live in are steeped in Deathroot, affecting the small ecology within the lake.
For me the biggest find (not to hard to find at the end) was that all those wierd and out of place constructions found arround the whole Lands are falling parts from Farum Azula.... how big could it be at its peak, a DLC traveling back in time to Farum Azula would be awsome.
If you look around Farum Azula you can find a symbol that is only found around Leyndell as well, so on top of being much bigger, it was most likely where Leyndell is currently at. Meaning whatever crashed into it displaced it from the ground where Leyndell is at now which explains all the holes we see in Leyndell as well
You know that’s interesting because the map is actually set up in a spiral with Caelid and Limgrave being some of the lowest points ( Limgrave also being the place to enter Necron which is underground) I wonder in times past if in order have gotten into Farum Azula you had to go through the mountaintop of giants like a pilgrimage
If I hadn't been recording when I ran into the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast I would not have noticed the similarity between them and Astel, which I only noticed when rewatching. I had assumed Astel was the fully matured form of the Fallingstar Beasts, and I really like the chrysalis idea. I wonder what the necessary conditions for the metamorphosis could be.
I saw it more as the Fallingstar Beast as being the first stage in the life cycle. You could look at it like the Mature FB being a mature tomato worm. It's hatched and way heavier than a butterfly, but it just finished the first stage.
@Relyks Netoow I think you idea is cool. But on the other hand there is another Astel like creature in the Snowfields, down in a mine. So it might be that it has something to do with glintstone or Minerals. I don't really know.
I discovered while checking out blaidss armor, a funny reference to Elsa from frozen, who also happens to be an ice princess. "The cold bothered him anyway". Lol sensational
I believe Marika is the Gloam Eyed/Dusk Eyed Queen. It really makes us work for it though. Look at Marika at the end, red and black spear impaling her, imprisoned. Defeated. Who did that? Who uses red and black Rune of Death power? Well, Maliketh. Ranni tells us that chosen Empyreans have a shadow assigned to them which protects them, but also is able to and directed to destroy their Empyrean host if they go against the Greater Will. How does she know this? She saw it happen to Marika and Maliketh. When he defeated the Gloam Eyed Queen. Who is simply another name for Marika, hinting at her past as a Numen and denizen of the Eternal City. The Black Knife assassins are also from here. The Age of the Duskborn ending sees Godwyn as the Prince of Death rise to new ascendancy and it is said by Fia he will be reborn anew. I believe the Duskborn ending is Godwyn's ending. I believe the "Duskborn" is Godwyn himself. He is the Prince of Death. Born of someone aligned with Death and "Dusk" indeed. His mother is Marika. The Dusk Eyed Queen. Godwyn, a Prince. Marika, his mother, the Queen. The Beast Eye you get from Maliketh/Gurranq is purple/gloamy. We never see Marika's eyes. Or the left side of her generally. I believe it's her eye. Now who else has purple eyes we see, ever? Melina. Who is Melina? The daughter of Marika. Traits are often passed down in Elden Ring from parent to child, no? I bet Marika has gloamy purple eyes. Well, one left now. What does Melina talk about? Destined Death which is just the Rune of Death really. And flame. Sounds like black flame to me. Tied to the Godskins. What shape does Marika hang in? The shape of the Rune of Death. The Godskins served it, long ago. Marika was once made an Empyrean specifically because she was so powerful already in the world before the Erdtree. The host must be very powerful after all. Hewg is praying to himself, to Marika about her wish to create a Godslaying weapon. To kill a God. The Elden Beast. Who else made and knew of Godslaying weapons and arts? Well, the Godskins and their black flame. Flame and Death. With Maliketh keeping watch of the main part of the Rune of Death, and with the other half impaled in the Dusk Eyed Queen, pinning her to the Erdtree, defeated but not slain as per the item description, she needed another way to slay a God. That's Hewg's task given by her. It's worth noting that Fia, Deathbed Companion has a similar black robe we see Marika wearing, and we see the tattered remnants of her black garb when we find her in the Erdtree as well. There's a statue of Marika holding the twins Malenia and Miquella in the Haligtree region, she is hooded there like Fia. To me this just further ties her to aspects of Destined Death and proves she is the DEQ/GEQ. To expand a bit more, she used Maliketh like a safe for a powerful gun. She wielded the Rune of Death, or Destined Death by a different name and she hangs in its shape. She became disillusioned with the Greater Will and worked in secret with her Numen homeland to create the Fingerslayer Blade, prompting Astel to level it, sent by TGW, and causing Maliketh to have to imprison Marika and spike her with half of the Death Rune, leaving her defeated but alive. Because she is still the most powerful vessel, still a God. Marika was acting against the Greater Will in various ways for a long time, with far reaching plots. A Shadowbound has to intervene when this happens, and Maliketh was forced to do this and remained ever confused and conflicted, like when we see him or defeat him, he is still wondering why Marika lied to or tricked him. Remember in the item description it states very keenly that her sole need of him was to seal Destined Death (Death Rune which she wielded)... and even then, betrayed him.
@@scootsevan I appreciate that, I welcome being proven wrong but I'm leaning on Queen Marika being the Dusk eyed/Gloam Eyed Queen. It's just this weird way From tells stories and uses different names or identities or leaves out certain things to tell more about another aspect or leave it open ended enough so that it could be interpreted several ways sometimes.
This is interesting. Though i don't think everything adds up if Marika was the Gloam Eyed Queen. For one her history and actions are well documented, and Melina narrates them to you in various locations. This means Marika would have had to be the Gloam Eyed Queen in secret. Also if Marika so openly rebelled against the greater will even before she shattered the Elden Ring, and was even stopped by Maliketh, why is she still the greater Will's puppet? It's implied that the Will only realised it could leave Marika after she shattered the ring. Also how is Marika even alive? If Maliketh impaled her with Destined Death, she should be well and truly dead. My interpretation of why her symbol resembles the rune if death is because she's the one that removed Death from the Lands Between, and is known and admired for it. She is the Eternal after all. And here's a bold one: Marika might not even be Melina's mother. Melina keeps mentioning her mother, but whenever she talks about Marika she calls her "Queen Marika". I don't think they're the same person. I'm not at all certain about this one though. Just something to consider.
@@arcanefire7511 Right, I think for whatever reason she is suspended there impaled with the spike section of the Rune of Death, and it has two halves. The Rune Arc looking half drops from Maliketh after he is slain. So maybe she is kept half alive essentially and who knows, being that she was able to wield and manipulate the Rune of Death and have Maliketh keep it sealed for her, maybe it just doesn't affect her the same. She had to have been quite powerful before even, to be chosen as Empyrean.
I don't know why this video made me miss the days before Elden Ring released. The speculation and discussions surrounding what a screenshot meant was a special time during the ER saga.
I really have this feeling that we already know most of the stuff already. This is the first Fromsoft game where i know basically everything from just playing the game.
Just when you think you've watched every lore video, read every item description, and hit every wall 100 times just in case "dog ahead, therefore mushroom" you find out you don't know shit! Awesome vid, super interesting!
Those crabs are infected with deathroot because that area lies generally above the Darkroot Depths where Godwyn’s corpse is. EDIT: While it’s true that this area doesn’t lie directly above the Darkroot Depths, it might make sense that these crabs are infected because this area is lower in elevation than the capital, and is where water and in the region has been pooling.
the Fallingstar beasts literally sit in a glowing crater of a comet, so you see them coming from space, then burrowing through the earth and pupating to become Astel, Misshapen stars
For those crabs, the large one that spawns out of the ground will blow the death status at you. I think it's the only crab that does this. It actually caught me by surprise, and it is too easy to get caught between the two pincers if you're not ready for it. It's actually the only time in the game I died to the death status.
forensic: "well, he's dead sir" detective: "well, that's obvious, what was the cause of death?" f: "he died of Death, sir" D: *confused bee movie guy face*
Something I heard on reddit which makes sense, is that the falling star beasts and Astel seem to be modelled after Ant Lions. The crater the falling star beast is in resembles the ant lion larva's trap. They they then cocoon (like the hanging variety), then hatch into Astel-like flying bugs. Also, the face looks to me like it isn't so much growing out, as it is just covered in fur. I wonder if the fur can be hidden in a model viewer or something, to see more of the face.
maybe the deathroot infection is what gives the crab meat its damage reduction. look at the baldachins blessing description as another example of death granting numbness
The Fallingstar Beasts seem to have a life cycle that mimics that of an antlion, starting off like a bulkier beetle and then shedding some of their physiology after hatching from a cocoon to become more dragonfly-ish
Hindu Gods also have many forms. They all have at least 2, sometimes 3 and more different forms that are part of the whole. I think this feeds directly into the lore of ER also.
A little confusion about Vishnu; you said he was able to split his soul into ten avatars, these avatars happen in succession and not at once. Very good video overall.
This was a great video, legitimately so many things I've never seen anyone talk about, which I feel like is rare with this game, as it seems to have been turned upside-down in search of secrets and lore
There’s another Falling Star Beast in a crater outside the wall of Leyndell, to the West of the gates. Also, I think people are wrongfully assuming that Ranni is connected to Melina and an outer god. She is clearly influenced and likely aligned with an outer god, but the connection to Melina and the Gloam Eyed Queen is from Renna, who the doll is meant to look like. Renna is the one people should be looking for info on, instead of assuming the connection is to Ranni.
That's definitely not Placidusax, the whole body structure doesn't match up, not even close. It looks more like two smaller ancient dragons than Placidusax.
Body structure wouldn’t match if it’s fossilized. Some bones would be crushed and heavily dispersed through the shifting of soils over many years. Fossilized skeletons almost never look like their original form
Honestly I'm not so convinced about the skeleton of Placidusax, firstly, it doesn't look like Placidusax apart from the horns you mentioned, which could easily be a common look or just a repeated render of the dragons there, and secondly, Placidusax is enshrouded by a sort of time vortex, so he easily, and probably, never died to begin with until you came along.
As far as the deathroot crabs are concerned: the giant crab nearby also spews incredibly fast acting death mist! I know this because it killed the dungeater for me
It killed me with its mist after I'd beaten the Poopoo Partaker, but before I was able to pick up his drops. The items were no longer there upon reviving, nor upon exiting and reloading. Had to kill Crap Consumer in the sewers to get his gear, which is fine because that was the plan anyway, to do once I'd administered Seluvis' potion to him.
@@Metaknight180 did you get his sword? the sword of milos from the sewers because I know his armor drops in the sewers, his sword was the item that dropped after the fight outside the capital.
I just started NG+ and I realised you don’t start in the lands between. You cross the mist and enter the lands between. So where do you start? Obviously the Samurai comes from the Land of Reeds.
The fact that deathroot seems easy to remove if you just boil it away reminds me of burning the erdtree. Maybe setting it ablaze starts to burn away Godwyn’s corpse down in the deeproot depths
I haven't seen a lot of people talk about the origin of madness and possibly the 3 fingers, maybe bc it's too obvious: at all sites that are influcted with madness you see the Eye of Yelough plants grow (also seen in their description) and once you get to the consecrated snowfield, you find the Yelough anix ruins where there are everywhere, together with madness inflicted enemies. Right behind them is the tunnel and right in the middle of the boss arena, imbedded in ice, is a giant rock with the telltale signs of frenzyflame stones. This might be the origin from where the whole thing spread into the lands between. (And maybe where the 3 fingers originated, since it seems like they were relocated to under the capital) Edit: I'm saying the big stone might be a meteor
Quick addendum: said boss in that tunnel is Astel, stars of darkness and there are an alabaster lord and onyx lord there, so I think the idea of a meteor doesn't seem far fetched
I had a conversation with someone on a Facebook post about the Elden Beast's 'bone structure' having similarities to the Laniakea supercluster. Glad to see others noticing it as well. The cosmic side of ER I feel is as vast and unfathomable as Bloodborne's cosmic connections, although ER is not as 'lovecraftian' as BB perhaps
To me the haslowe family Is a Easter egg for the Belmont's in Castlevania. A family of whip wielding killers with their family "being drenched in blood"
For the fallingstar beasts and astels, I assume that this is their natural lifecycle. The fallingstar beasts seem adept at digging, so I suppose they dig into the earth and slowly transform into the pupa states we find hanging from the ceiling. Most probably, when they reach maturity they explode, which would explain the huge underground arenas we find them in and would be keeping with the theme of them being "malformed stars".
One interesting detail that I noticed is that in the cutscene where you marika hanging. You see the imprint of all the great runes hanging in the air. You can clearly see where they once were suppose to be, and they have now been replace by the crucified Marika.
Rannis dialogue was sadly mistranslated though the core of her purpose is still kind of preserved, she wishes to remove the ability to tamper with the order from the lands between since everything thats happened has been because of the order that was in place being tampered with, she's trying to save everyone by taking a dark cold path alone, until we the player character join her to save the people
I doubt that dead dragon in the beginning is Placidusax if it was then we'd see evidence of more heads, plus until we kill him Placidusax is basically said to be in a place beyond time so how could he die before we get to him when he's frozen in a place where time doesn't advance? That one makes literally no sense when presented with his looks plus his lore.
I made a video about the Trolls and Giants 9 days ago, part of it talking about just that. I've got a theory about the stomachs involving them having it removed and replaced with the stone slabs you see inside of them to sustain life. Something else worth noting, the fell god is still alive, yet Marika claimed to destroy it. i think she merely wanted to contain it as a weapon should she ever turn against the greater will and the erdtree. If you're interested check out the video and let me know what you think. Keep up the good work.
interesting that you point that out about the crabs the the postule. if you think about it, Fia, being a deathbed companion gives you Baldachin's blessing, which increases your poise when you use FP (a "this for "that" situation). The boiled crab offers increased poise as well (but without a cost, and for much longer).

There are weeping angels in the shaded castle in altus plateau. One statue looks at at you while the player is facing away and then turns as soon as the player faces it. That was the scariest encounter in all of soulsborne for me because it was so unexpected.
I really wish I hadn't missed out on Blackguard Boggart's quest line. I somehow completely missed Rya in Liurnia. First time I saw her was at Volcano Manor. Without talking to her first, Boggart won't even sell you anything.
Great vid. Pleasantly surprised considering I was expecting just another hidden mechanic video that we all probably don't know but yet all clearly already know by now lol
I explored the whole underground tree area first , so when I got to the Sewer and found the other path to the root . I first thought I found a a new area to play 🤯I was so excited until it lead me to the roots . 😂 either way it’s a cool alternative path.
If you do her quest it also gives you access to the capital without fighting the draconic tree sentinal, though i'd say he is easier than the fights you get with her chain.
Vishnu isn't supposed to "have the power" to split into the ten avatars, Vishnu is supposed to be God, with the power to do literally anything. Hindu gods aren't superheroes with a limited set of superpowers. Not your fault though Zio, Hinduism is esoteric to most westerners.
For the trolls: If you notice in them, not only is the stomach gouged out, but there is a tombstone in the cavity attached by roots that turn into flesh. This is a pretty big mystery to me. Tombstones play a few roles in the game that I've noticed. Another example of tombstone use is in the Rennala fight, when she kind of reabsorbs some of her spawn to become tombstones and then flings them at you. There's some dialog about becoming a tombstone. But I think that a tombstone is a literal physical manifestation of soul, kind of like ashes, but more stable. And my theory for the trolls is that basically the dead giants essence is kind of drawn into the land. In the mountaintops of the giants, you can see giant wooden spears have pierced them. This then would concentrate and manifest as tombstones (everything essential in the game kind of has a tendency to concentrate, magic or intelligence as glintstone, death as deathroot, etc. Tombstones are kind of the natural concentration of spirit energy. Then the erdtree reaches them and basically manifests a new being by infusing the tombstone with life and essentially grows a body from its own roots. It could even be the haligtree rather than the erdtree. I don't know the age that the trolls were introduced. As the Haligtree would also infuse them with the blood of Miquella
0:49 Doesn't fossilization take millions of years to occur? If this is actually Placidusax, who Godfrey killed, doesn't that mean that the whole Elden ring story and world and characters would also be millions of years old? That would make this whole game just so much more depressing.
With Placidusax's skeleton fossilized in the rubble, and the fact that in order to fight him, you have to go back in time... It's basically such that he was destined to always die by your hands whilst waiting for his god's return.
Finally I have a good idea of who the "we" in Godrick's death dialogue is. I got goosebumps the first time I heard it, that maybe he has/had someone he loves that he wants to make happy. Nah, he's just being his usual insufferable self lol
the reason those crabs in particular are manifesting godwyn's face on their backs is that the location they're feeding in is directly above his corpse, and it's infecting the roots and grass they're eating
I never put this connection together until literally today but I realized just how similar the stone eye Beastman gives you and the “stone eye” living stones that guard the evergaols are
The only thing I found that absolutely blew my mind was after finishing ranis quest going back to ijii getting his last words before reloading and after the reload when he is surrounded by 3 black knife assassins dead and ijii on fire utterly epic.
How is that Placidusax? That's two dragons that look to be separated with one head each, while Placi has two heads on one body. Just because they have a missing horn doesn't that has to be the one big big, it could just be another dragon missing its horn. It's a fossil, it could've broke from any number of things. The tornado in the center, the crumbling, the fact that it's a fossil and buried could also lead to a broken horn. Two separate dragons with one missing one of it's horns doesn't equal Placidusax After watching, this video comes off as misinformation. I liked the video after your first few sentences. Truly my favorite part of a game is that aspect of always feeling like there’s something new to find, whether it’s a weapon, or lore. The story is already so intricate and takes a lot to pull together to fully understand, yet it seems like we have only scratched the surface in some areas. George RR Martin is said to have finished the story years ago, and that’s just telling me that fromsoftware had years to hide it all. Idk about you guys, but knowing the past of these developers, we got way more to find :)
regarding the blackguards’ crabs: Alternatively, what we find and kill in the overworld are just the infected ones. It's reasonable to assume that the blackguard knew his way around a shellfish and could spot a dead god’s face growing some(any)where. That said, I certainly wonder how all the land looked before everything had happened.
A lot of the things from "Those who live in death" are connected with water in Elden Ring. Such as Godfrey having a mermaid scale, the Deathroot boat ladies fight in their spiritual water, and crabs, who come out of water with deathmarks. Theres more examples that dont come to mind right now, but it's very clear that those 2 intertwine
Lots of cool stuff here that I haven't heard before about Elden Ring. I'd love to see more videos like this from your channel. Thanks and hope you get to 30 K soon!!
I like the theory that the Fallingstar beasts are the larval stage of an Astel-type enemy. Astel even resembles a Dobsonfly or an Antlion adult while the larva looks like a literal Antlion complete with its crater.
Also something ive not seen anyone else mention that i put in my last video, Phillia at the Apostate Derelict has fully modeled eyeballs and inner mouth, which tells me she has more of a role to play, as some characters like Blaidd, have no eyeball models inside, and even ranni doesnt have one behind her closed eye, so why put them behind the closed eyes of Phillia? Also how is a sleeping giant albinauric supposed to create life? unless....
I think all models that are built off the same as the player character have eyes and mouths. In the CNT there was a glitch when passing through fog walls that showed the eyes and mouth clipped through the character
@@Ziostorm that could very well be the case, something else interesting though is she is the only model I have found with the eyes facing inwards, the irises being on the backside of the eye, seemingly purposely done. Where all the other characters have no detail to the backside of the eyeballs, just empty circles, even the player character in the glitch you mentioned. Could be nothing but so much has already been found I'm looking at every minor detail for anything that seems off or different. Such as that Latenna questline, at the end she says "take the birthing droplet and create life". The birthing droplet could be seen as a larval tear, which we know is used alongside a great rune for rebirth. In order to create life one could assume that Phillia would need a great rune to pair with the birthing droplet, such as one we haven't seen yet..the Great Rune of Abundance. Now suppose Phillia, is St Trina. We find the most "Trinas Lillies" at that area, St Trina is associated with silver, as well as the albinaurics, and the Giant Crabs at the Albinauric Village inflict sleep, which is something St Trina is known for. The albinaurics have withering legs, that could be seen as "decaying" legs. What if Miquella splitting into a female version, caused a curse of another type. Instead of eternal youth, St Trinas legs age quickly and become useless. A type of rot, passed on to the albinaurics. Could it be that Miquella split into St Trina, creating the albinaurics as a way of looking for a cure to Malenias rot? I guess I'm more thinking out loud here but I always wanna see if someone has noticed something I haven't. I love lore and writing, and sometimes I overlook obvious details searching for extraordinary ones. Sorry for the long comment lol; I appreciate that you took the time to reply.
@@Ziostorm Also just thought worth mentioning, Philia translated from Greek could mean "Friendship" orrr "Brotherly Love" and is one of the four types of love mentioned in the Bible. "A love of equals who are united in a common purpose, pursuit, good, or end"

I really had like a woah moment with the trolls, it makes all the sense and I had been wondering about it so this was dope see Placidusax being in the wall like that is so super cool, such a FromSoft thing to do as well xDD the thing about Ranni too is genius. mr Martin looked far and wide for his inspirations and its epic
So this is a mystery to me, we all know Seluvis and his puppet summons right? The maiden puppet summon is a healing based spirit and you can notice her holding her seal due to its glow. Remember the maiden at Redmane castle or just bows everytime you try to talk to her? I have a suspicion that they are the same person.
Dragonkin Soldiers also have large cavities in their abdomens similar to the Trolls. Haven't found an explanation for it other than my guess that them going from human to dragon causes their bodies to suffer side effects such as their abdomens hollowing out.
I don't know if this has been mentioned before but, I noticed that the wolves in front of Rani's tower turned to dead armoured assassins at some point after her departure.
I have a really hard time imagining that her rune won’t be obtainable after all the DLC is released, and it would be really cool if there was actually a hint of that in the base game by way of the rune on the moon.)
*I guess in this context it would be “Ranni’s moon” rather than “the moon”

hey man i appreciate your efforts to uncover the secrets and giving us lore :)
that being said, i think a few of these are stretching it just a notch.
i don't think those dragon skellies imbedded into the wall in Farum Azula is actually the Psadorsicasdashudas-whatever its name is. first off, there's clearly the skeletons of two dragons there and none of them are 2 headed.
(SPOILERS BELOW)
what i do find interesting though, is the possible connection between psadaisduiuiasuidsad and Marika/Radagon.
both seem to have hosted an elden ring at one point or another, as we can see from the ancient elden ring symbol in Malekith's chamber, and the fact that they both share the "two become one" phenomenon.
whereas Marika and Radagon are one and the same with interchangable personalities, Psadorasdhuhausdbsjnjd simply has 2 heads.
my theory is that Marika learned how to merge with another being by studying this ancient dragon or the elden ring runes in its lair (which Malekith now occupies) and that's how she learned how to merge with Radagon.
anyway, hope to see more videos soon. one can never learn too much about Elden Ring :)

The stars existed prior to the greater will “invading” the lands between. It’s the foundation for the Academy of Raya Lucaria and glintstone sorcery
Yes, but it’s likely the greater will itself is just as old if not older
@@Ziostorm that is purely speculation on your part
What about the Elden Beast?
@@TonkarzOfSolSystem well. I’m not too sure about that one, but I think the info will be on the Fextralife wiki.
@@TonkarzOfSolSystem it completely fucked up the the elden beast and radagon.
It's weird that people think they aren't connected because of the "fully-grown" part but a fully-grown caterpillar makes sense to them.
Holy shit, this single comparison should shed all doubt in anyone's mind
The cut content found by Sekiro Dubi has some implications for caelid and Radahn. The finger maiden refers to Radahn as the giant slayer. Could this mean that the giant skeletons we see in Caelid were long ago killed by Radahn. Might even be that Radahn was granted the region of Caelid after this action as its regent.
That would make sense. I wonder why that was cut
Radahn didn’t go to war with the giants Radagon did and despite both of them having the red hair traits from giants radagon despised them
Concerning the deathroot crabs, after checking the geography, they spawn directly above Deeproot Depths. It's possible that the soil beneath the lake the crabs live in are steeped in Deathroot, affecting the small ecology within the lake.
Fascinating🤪 Really though the attention to detail is the brush of the Devs its how they do story telling. Ya love to see it!
Im not sure if others have mentioned it but south of the liurnia mariner there is a deathblighted crab
Crabs are also scavengers and so literally feast on death.
For me the biggest find (not to hard to find at the end) was that all those wierd and out of place constructions found arround the whole Lands are falling parts from Farum Azula.... how big could it be at its peak, a DLC traveling back in time to Farum Azula would be awsome.
Ummm we did see it complete during the Placidusax fight it reverts to a complete form in the storm beyond time, that whole arena was the farum azula
@@seranes2880 thats was only the arena part. The city must be way bigger
I like some of Godrick's cut dialogue, really emphasizes his obsession with being a descendant of Godfrey and of the Golden Lineage
It says that she’s malformed and mutated
When you gank a fallingstar beast with 3 rivers of blood it go's super myasaki and turns into astel
I saw it more as the Fallingstar Beast as being the first stage in the life cycle. You could look at it like the Mature FB being a mature tomato worm. It's hatched and way heavier than a butterfly, but it just finished the first stage.
I thought that the falling star beasts were stars who fell to earth and grew up here, where as Astel and the other bosses like him grew in space
Remember in the item description it states very keenly that her sole need of him was to seal Destined Death (Death Rune which she wielded)... and even then, betrayed him.
this is an awesome theory. great job
DLC could make me a total jackass, we shall see lol

@1:57 Dragonkin Soldier also has its stomach removed.
The Fallingstar Beasts seem to have a life cycle that mimics that of an antlion, starting off like a bulkier beetle and then shedding some of their physiology after hatching from a cocoon to become more dragonfly-ish
Alright, repeat after me "Plas ah" "Du sax" Placidusax
Hindu Gods also have many forms. They all have at least 2, sometimes 3 and more different forms that are part of the whole. I think this feeds directly into the lore of ER also.
7:49 ~ Who would have thought that boiling water would be enough to remove deathroot?
Blackguard should've met Fia and Fortissax!
Great video Zio and congrats on hittting over 20k subs@ Glad to be on avcctrd
I know this because it killed the dungeater for me
Same actually very anticlimactic. "AH THE LOATHSOME DUNG EATER OUR BATTLE WILL BE-" ..... " AH THE LOATHSOME DEATHROOT CRAB OUR...."
@@nickilo1 Yes, I got the sword from killing him, too.
So what your saying is that we could have had knock of Gihdora, but soft chickens out and made lazy Gihdora.
My man Zio hitting us with some more hard hitting secrets.
I don't think we go back in time for Plasidusax. I believe we go to a space outside of time.
These were all very interesting, specifically the Placidusax's fossil, that's a crazy fucking attention to detail man
I just started NG+ and I realised you don’t start in the lands between. You cross the mist and enter the lands between. So where do you start? Obviously the Samurai comes from the Land of Reeds.
looks like more people are catching on to the Elden beasts lore. frankly it has the greatest implications on the lore if you connect the right dots.
(And maybe where the 3 fingers originated, since it seems like they were relocated to under the capital)
Edit: I'm saying the big stone might be a meteor
Interesting, I’ll look into that
Quick addendum: said boss in that tunnel is Astel, stars of darkness and there are an alabaster lord and onyx lord there, so I think the idea of a meteor doesn't seem far fetched
Almost 1 mil views homie I’m so glad to see you’re getting the exposure you deserve!
Most probably, when they reach maturity they explode, which would explain the huge underground arenas we find them in and would be keeping with the theme of them being "malformed stars".
this also explains the regular falling star beast you find in the sellia crystal tunnel
One interesting detail that I noticed is that in the cutscene where you marika hanging. You see the imprint of all the great runes hanging in the air. You can clearly see where they once were suppose to be, and they have now been replace by the crucified Marika.
From all we now about the horrors that came down to the lands between from the stars, Rannis goals seem a tiny wee bit questionable.
Rannis dialogue was sadly mistranslated though the core of her purpose is still kind of preserved, she wishes to remove the ability to tamper with the order from the lands between since everything thats happened has been because of the order that was in place being tampered with, she's trying to save everyone by taking a dark cold path alone, until we the player character join her to save the people
She's basically going to protect people from the outer gods and void monsters, so they can think of the chill night as infinitely far away.
The fallingstar beast might just be a larval state of the Naturalborn of the void.
But it says full-grown so I doubt it
@@kwamemwangs2173 A full grown fallingstar beast has a parallel look and nature to a antlion in that it must mature before it’s ready to undergo its change.
@@mangasaint full-grown and mature aren't the same thing. If it said mature falling star beast I would agree with you but it's done growing and changing
@@kwamemwangs2173 This game is known for its translation errors.
@@mangasaint assuming it's an error isn't gonna help anything. Its better to take the game's word instead of going off speculation. Your theory is cool and I like it but it's prolly not true
I discovered today that you can hit thru the ghost trees (the ones that are transparent on some enviroments) but magic spells dont, they will hit and make collision. I know is not something big but I love the smalls details.
0:20 "Ten really awesome discoveries"...why the title says 8 then bro....?? where did the other 2 go? you are hiding something from us!!!?!?! spill it!
Hey Guys, he's hiding 2 discoveries from us, shun this man!!
Was expecting a bunch of basic stuff that I already knew, but no, I didn’t know most of this and there’s some interesting stuff in here. Great video!
There are weeping angels in the shaded castle in altus plateau. One statue looks at at you while the player is facing away and then turns as soon as the player faces it. That was the scariest encounter in all of soulsborne for me because it was so unexpected.
Blink ptsd flashbacks...
Where in the shaded castle is that ?
@@andrewhulse614 in altus plateau
@@vault29a no I mean where specifically in the castle
@@andrewhulse614 in the alley near the grace inside. There is a ghost there too.
I really wish I hadn't missed out on Blackguard Boggart's quest line. I somehow completely missed Rya in Liurnia. First time I saw her was at Volcano Manor. Without talking to her first, Boggart won't even sell you anything.
Damn that’s interesting find
Great vid. Pleasantly surprised considering I was expecting just another hidden mechanic video that we all probably don't know but yet all clearly already know by now lol
5:54 please no more Melina is Ranni, the spirit face perfectly overlaps with other people too, such as Malenia
I’ve never played elden ring or watched any vid of yours, but your profile pic and intro Metroid music drew me in lol
there is a secret route for the sewers to the root of the tree , where Fia wait the final point of her quest, the sewers conect to those body of water
So there is a RUclipsr that plays Metroid prime music in the background while talking about Elden ring…. This truly is a good Monday
“See if you could spot the connections in this cut dialogue….”
“Try out new smoked meats made by boar head…” lol
Metroid is my favorite series and I love how you slipped its music in. Actually fitting
Fallingstar beast realization blew my mind
Dude I love the Metroid Prime music!!
I never put this connection together until literally today but I realized just how similar the stone eye Beastman gives you and the “stone eye” living stones that guard the evergaols are
“Rays of Gold” is now thoroughly etched into my mind
Super cool to see, thank you! These were discoveries that I genuinely did not know (unlike arekkz video lol).
Congrats on 30k subs! Well deserved!
The only thing I found that absolutely blew my mind was after finishing ranis quest going back to ijii getting his last words before reloading and after the reload when he is surrounded by 3 black knife assassins dead and ijii on fire utterly epic.
Couldn’t see this mentioned but here’s another interesting fact about Ranni. She initially goes by Renna which means rebirth. *chills*
Two separate dragons with one missing one of it's horns doesn't equal Placidusax
After watching, this video comes off as misinformation. Some things you're saying you are sure of that even the community isn't sure of yet, and others you're flat wrong on. What you aren't wrong on is discoveries made from another youtuber.
That Metroid outtro though…. It’s just beautiful
Hey Zio, thanks for the channel shout out! Cheers
I swear the growing "face" on the falling star beast is just an eye
"A love of equals who are united in a common purpose, pursuit, good, or end"
really cool video man!
I really had like a woah moment with the trolls, it makes all the sense and I had been wondering about it so this was dope see
Placidusax being in the wall like that is so super cool, such a FromSoft thing to do as well xDD
the thing about Ranni too is genius. mr Martin looked far and wide for his inspirations and its epic
The crabs are literally on top of where Godwyn corpse is
Amazing Video ! Congrats on 30k
Same with ancestor spirit
its amazing that a japanese company managed to make such an amazing medieval lore thats so unique from anything we've seen and deep..
It's not their first game so they are masters in the fantasy genere.
this is one of the best thumbnails I've ever seen, nice
I don't know if this has been mentioned before but, I noticed that the wolves in front of Rani's tower turned to dead armoured assassins at some point after her departure.
Congrats on 32k subscribers! Nice video!
