When the ecu reads above a specific coolant temp it triggers not only the fans (if controled by the ecu) it also triggers at some point to run rich in order to bring Combustion chamber temps down. If more fuel is being pushed then burned its only gonna evaporate and thats taking thermal energy out the chamber. Sort of like we like to spray water on our skin ;)

ISR makes a direct replacement turbo. I think it’s a t25/t28 hybrid. I have one on my car but I’ve only had it for like a year, so I can’t vouch for longevity, but it’s held up to many events so far. Be careful tho from what I heard the wastegate that comes on it doesn’t open until 14 psi. I don’t know that for certain so I just turned my boost controller down cause I only run like 10-11 psi.

May consider pulsar turbo (gtx2867 for oem ecu) they are cheap china reps but they are a lot better then maxpeedingrods or no named turbo, they just need a good cleaning and inspection before installation
My hatch had that issue too, move the trunk latch down slightly and retighten it, when you pull the lever it’ll actually pop open again, also while pulling the coils on sr I’d recommend unplugging the last one before pulling it so you’re not bending it or stretching the wire for it

Check engine ECU coolant temp sensor on the 240. If they fail ( had it on my 300zx) the ECU thinks the car is either cold or hot depending on how it decides to fail. The ECU adjusts timing and fuel / air ratio depending on engine temp. If the sensor fails you end up running rich when the car gets upto temp, hence why it's running OK on cold start then playing up when warm. Plus running rich will Coke the plugs.
if your on a tight budget the isr formerly isis gt28 works and lives well in a stock like build . make sure to use oil restrictor , dont flood it .btw a fresh o2 sensor always helps my kat when it runs a little fat.
I know Macpeedingrods has turbos, but for a budget price they should have what you would need to replace her turbo. Again, I know a lot of their stuff is universal, so it may be worth a shot.
I'd get an ebay replacement turbo, they're quality has gone up a significant amount from what they used to be and even though they're not top tier quality I'd still trust it. I had a no name on my civic for over a year, it got oil starvation more then once and is still kicking.
I would Get a remanufactured Garret for cheaper before getting an unknown name. Then rebuild it myself when it needs bearings. Great run! Did you get strut rod bushings yet? they will wear out the metal cups eventually and you will have to weld a bearing race in there,

Id send it with a Maxpeedingrod turbo. People seem to have good experiences with them. Most the time failures are oil seals or just minor shaft play then you can just toss em and get a new one lol. I haven't really seen any like grenade a engine or anything.
so, the 240 can come stock with an sr20? or with what engine? kinda curious abt that. since logan swapped his 240 with an sr20. Or did Franzy's car also got an engine swap? i hope this kinda makes sense what im telling rn lol

A alternative t28 that’s decently priced and good is twisted motion, I think my buddy bought his for $650-700, it’s dual ball bearing and billet wheel, almost bought one for my SR I was building but found a gt2871r with new center cartridge. But I say give twisted motion a look
Seriously look into a replacement ECU I use a Haltec 2500 on my 86 Z31 turbo deleted all the 80’s crap pulled out over 30 wires from the EFI harness and gets rid of the troublesome MAF mine now uses a map sensor it runs WAY better.
I can’t remember if you said how much hp the 240 is making in a previous video soo how much is it making? Curious because it seems to be a very reliable number!
You should advance the timing in a way that it fires a bit earlier than usual when you install the new exhaust manifold, but the car looks really nice!

You can find a gt35 t3 turbo for the Nissan 240sx for about 100 to 200 dollars online which may seem cheap but it’s a reliable turbo
