Absolutely bonkers to hear netgear say both "I actually just got hood certified" and "trill recognize trill".
This video actually helped me understand a little more in depth about what makes so many cars today be worth so much rather than just only saying "High demand, Low supply" and thats it. Like honestly this video isn't hugely opinionated, its literal facts.
I feel like the same thing happened to E30s. They were turned into drift missiles or gutted for specE30. Great job explaining how something mass produced becomes a collectible and more valuable.
definitely did
Most definitely. I’m in my 30s, my first car was a 91 318is that was $4700 (it was really clean), they were a dime a dozen back then. Seems like at 25-30yo a car will start experiencing nostalgia pricing.
Timeline makes sense because they bottom out in price when they are 10-15yo, get bought up by 16-25yos and are trashed. Then 10-15 years later those buyers are in their 30s/40s and have money to blow on four wheeler nostalgia and the market is barren of unmolested options or clean builds. Fortunately I hung onto my e30, never letting it go.
The analogy between Classic Muscle and 90s Japanese Sports Cars is a great way of putting it. The correlations go even further than that as I've experienced with my '71 Skylark as most of the desirable models are trashed, modified or at M'Cum going for $85k so you're left with limited choices at this point.
muscle car market is almost a play by play to the emerging JDM market. it's like having the sports almanac from back to the future 2
I hope you guys get big. These videos are much better than the bigger YTubers
For real I’m learning quite a bit, still the fact I may never own a 240 leaves me a with deep pain in my chest😢
@TheOtakuOdyssey I've owned 2 in my lifetime, I simultaneously loathed and adored both and wish I had them back. But honestly you're not missing much.
Congrats on the hood certification!
preciate u fam
My very first car was an auto 93 240SX SE hatch, black auto with nice black interior. I paid $2500 when I was 15, I'm almost 34 now and it would probably sell for five times that.
Please never change. I need something thats actually good to watch and not some oface red circles in the Thumbnail Bs. Love the Vids fr ♥
damn Netgear moving up in the world with that Kirkland Signature sponsorship.
"Do better" 100% agree, more people need to see this.
Do more of these videos of you talking and explaining things, you break things down really well.
That dude in blue is the epitome of why CCF is a nessecary grassroots automotive channel
Yet another straight forward, completely true and thorough explanation from Netgear. I couldn't have said it better. Nostalgia is a very strong force. For me it's the Hondas. They fit perfectly into your point about being cheap and readily available back in the day. No one thought FWD grocery getters would fetch the premium they do today. Looking forward to the next video. 💯
Honda Nut fo life! 🤪
I'm fucking rolling at this video!
I watched that video and was like excuse me......... "All you did is state facts on why its a Collector car!"
Gear And Feed Keep up the great content Legit want that Costco fit!
I was mesmerized by that sweater. Kirkland Signature drip!
I actually did a final project for a class on this very phenomenon. Its known as the 25 year rule and it comes from collecting toys but it is vastly similar to cars and what is going to be collectible down the road. Net hit all the right points here but one point that I think furthers this conversation is how influential digital media is in cementing the 240sx and other Japanese classics in the collectible car scene. I did end up acing the final.
Great video. I bet if he was called ThatBonerinBlue, hed make more valid points
That end quote went so hard
The hood certificate killed me😂
Bro anyone else not getting any audio from this video?
Lots of people saying this, it’s also stuck on 360p, the HD versions haven’t processed. RUclips fr*cked us
@@CollectorCarFeed that sucks love watching your videos tho up to date on all of them
@@spenceradams8149 appreciate you being a real one bro
Hope that gets sorted. I was looking forward to this one.
@@CollectorCarFeed Uhh dude, there is no audio on the video. Double check your editor
I'm trying so hard to build my 3SGE BEAMS motor for my 240 swap. I refuse to let it be a "soon" build.
Based
I agree 100% I got a clean modified s14 myself and S14 is next up for the big grab.
My dad had an Sierra rs cosworth back in 90s that he brought for 3 grand off one of his friends and sold it in 98 for 13 thousand now a 75k plus car always says it was one of his biggest regrets could never buy one now all driven by older blokes that think they’re 25 still and at 59 ain’t a good look
My current car(Which is a fairly rare S197 Mustang ) went from being 6k to 15k over the last 2 years. And part of that is guys trying to throw offers at me in hopes I'll sell it. Ive turned every offer down and I get sort of annoyed with them at this point. I'm owning the car because I like it and enjoy it. I drive it and put as many miles on it as I want because it makes me happy. I've not bothered saving it for the next guy, because frankly, I'm not hung up on its potential value. I honestly dont care what a cars worth or could be worth, I just want to drive and enjoy them.
Thank you, I haven't seen another 240sx on the road in my area in years. I'll keep fixing mine until I just can't do it anymore. It was the best $200 I ever spent.
Finally loaded on my end and that is too real. There is no way anyone can predict and say "This car will be an actual investment" there is no way for anyone to predict the future. How do you think that the last gen STI's are gonna be worth a shit ton now as they are no longer going to be made. They'll go up in price somewhat and no one would've guessed
its a nice change of pace to have netgear have explain a situation or a topic rather than flaming fb marketplace cars
This is why I snatched up my ep3 si last year only paid 3k for it. Cant imagine how much it would be in like 5 more years.
well that dudeinblue is cringe so his opinion is invalid
edit: based sweater and watch btw
Some good analogies for sure, any non-essential item that's in low supply and in high demand is bound to become a collectable at some point
My new favorite channel lmaoccongrats on the hood certy

Accurate and I agree to all these points. I love my 240s and won’t be letting them go, great video man.
This blunt was smoked by real 240 enthusiasts 👆
TDIB and people like him like Drew Peacock are people who grew up in fast and furious times and refused to let those times go. They'll get several cars no normal person can afford, mod the shit out of all of them to 1000+ HP, then never really drive their cars and ruined the cars they bought

great video. I'm 27 and can see the trend in my generation too. I had Subaru series blue and now nismo 370z. so like. you I like the Nissan and Subaru which means I must be smart like you, not dumb like little dude blue.
This video reminded me it's time to roll my s14 out of the garage for a wash and roll it back in for another decade
been watching him for years and usually like his content. Don't know if you know this but he has multiple 240s and are a staple of his too.
Cool, he's still wrong
240s are collectors just not the shit box that has been ran through but that’s just imo

I hope you make more of these bro. Your opinion is gold 👍
9:55 Really disappointed the CCF sticker ad didnt cut in right about here
FR*CK now I am too
That Costcos sweater is fire lol. David thinks he's some kind of celebrity I wouldn't go crazy over the stupid things he says.
I wasn't expecting how much people are starting to like the bricknose fords. I got one as a throw away cheap work truck in mint condition for 6k, put another couple into it and refreshed everything and gave that 351 a little chop with a cam. I think it's one of those ones that 20 30 years later it'll be worth more, not a ton more but a bit as it gets harder and harder to find a clean one
So I found you guys at 30k, so after you "blew up" though I feel you may go much more. Im a nobody youtuber barely struggling at 2k, but what I do know is cars.
I couldnt care less about Imports in general. I grew up around big iron but I can tell you right now that Japanese cars will keep rising. Some classics will go down, others will keep rising regardless of generation. The S chassis is one of those, that even 50 years from now along with the Supra will still be collector cars.
Im studying the L body cars now. They are even newer, a lot of them were made, a million trim and special editions, but how many will survive stock? How many will stay clean and low mileage? Some trims will be always desireable (Demons, Super Stocks, 1320s) just because of their specs, and how few were made (1320 nobody wanted, until it was too late, Super Stock is a Demon cope car, though its really the exact same car, minus the Demon Crate option). Im going to try to do streams where a bunch of us will talk it over (its been in the works, but health gets in the way....)
Anyway. Despite all the goofing, there is a LOT to learn here, for anyone that wants to get one of these cars. Its part of research, doing your homework and not lying to yourself about the car down the street, or that facebook listing, thats just there, and easy to get.
Feels like old school forum talk I love it
There was a little more than 300,000 240sx sold in the US. A lot of them were crushed before Tokyo drift was released. Then the people that totaled them or parted them out and let them go to shit. Theres not many left. Mines isnt going anywhere
Let’s be honest, Nissan is still providing tons of OEM support to the 240sx, especially the s13. This feeds into the current trend of resorting these cars. Combined with a decent business of people parting these cars, you can bring these back to new.
I nearly died at the ability to buy brand new fenders at my local dealer last year. It was so cool from a 240 guy perspective
Shhhh dude 🤣🤣🤣 haven't gotten my s13 yet shhhhh🤣🤣
I think TDIB was more saying that the 240's are not worth $25k for a beat up drift car that people list them for. He owns a 240 that he built, and the one in the video was not his.
>I think TDIB was more saying...
No, if he wanted to say that, he could have said it. You're just coping for him.
>He owns a 240
Yes he does, nobody said he didn't.
>240 in video isn't his
Correct, nobody said it wasn't. In fact, in the beginning of this video, I said the owner needs to fix his harness.
Yep. I watched David's vid. He was spot on. No reason 240s should cost as much as they do.
Here's where I'm going to stop you: 155 horsepower non-turbo and most surviving ones are slushbox 4 speed automatics.
240sx's sold like crap when they were new and only gained popularity as a platform car to swap in a JDM SR20 or put an aftermarket turbo on.
All of those Boomer dream cars were actually fast and powerful and had flagship performance for their day. A USDM 240sx is like a V6 Mustang: hopeless. I've driven several back in the day when they were new-ish and even then they were soggy, slow, boring-ass taxi-spec cars. Just a 4 cylinder Altima with RWD, and I would know as my sister had a brand new KA24 powered Altima and the drive was basically the same.
Now, Japanese-spec Silvias with SR20DETs are based as fuck, especially the S15 and even more so in Spec R Aero trim as that was truly a car that could hold its own even in stock form and with mild tuning could take on any flagship JDM car of the era. Those deserve collector car status for sure, they are about as good as it gets for a basic mid-size RWD sports car with a back seat and usable trunk.
But USDM 240sx's? No. The only reason they deserve any increase in value is just because of sheer rarity, like Stunt Racer for N64 sells for a lot of money because it was a Blockbuster rental exclusive and there aren't many copies but the game is completely average and underwhelming otherwise, just like a 240sx.
So, buy a proper JDM Silvia or just get an FR-S/BRZ instead, there's no reason to buy a USDM 240 unless you get it for like $5k in perfect condition or you are truly running a museum and just want a physical piece of history before the last one gets drifted into a light post.
Netgear57 undefeated
Hahaha nice
Costco drip goes perfect with this vid.
1000% agree my guy with what you said in your video. 👍
Trying to take what you say here and apply it to 2021-2024 cars it's very hard to identify any future classics. The market is so saturated with models and options, at least at the entry level price point. But even at the other end there's a new M car for example every other year these days.
Maybe the Honda e, but it's electric
I do not believe the 240sx should be a collector. To me the 240 is just a shell of the legendary Silvia. The not putting a SR motor in the USDM sucked. They only reason they are sought after are because most are clapped out.
Exactly dude. All the ones around me are 300k on the body.... poor cars they look so sad 🤣🤣 like bro them reps ain't gonna helped that clapped out piece of rust 🤣
@@yung829 Big facts. there are so many that are missing body panels, hardly running looking for $18k.

I've been saying all of this for years .my boomer dad never listened to me cause u know dad's . I'll always be a dumb a$$ to him. Anyway showed him this video. He had a 70 510 2 door when I was a kid in the 90s. He sold it for 600 bucks. To this day I still yell at him for it.
I really appreciate the lack of BS on CCF.
Great video lad!
Netgear doesn't f*ck around. I've never liked TDIB vids. Whatever it takes to pay the bills, I guess. I'm not a big S chassis fan either, but real recognizes real, and Netgear isn't bullsh*ting. LISTEN UP!
All netgear does is moan constantly and im guessing his audience are people who also moan constantly
It's just hard to believe a used 4cyl from the 90s can be worth more than a new car.
I'm mainly referencing toyotas here but the sentiment applies to all cars
Shittt just about the same. The Mitsubishi mirage is the last car in 2023 be valued at twenty thousand dollars new. It's honestly a wage issue a lot of states haven't picked up their wages ... The cost of living has became so high compared to wages.
Love It! We speak the same language. keep the good content coming
That's Right!!!!!! Set that Dude in Blue straight!!!! Spot on!
Cool video, keep calling out RUclipsrs that provide false info
net gear is so goofy. i like it
I think that what he was saying is that it’s an amazing car and he wishes that the car was not in such limited supply so that the average person could enjoy them. It’s cool that cars can hold such value but it sucks that they end up instead sitting in private collections off of the road for years...
It’s not that the 240sx isn’t worthy of being a collector car but that people who want to drive them can’t afford them.
I had my brother's 2002 WRX Blue bugeye 5 speed sedan 2 owner. Sold it, because I didn't have time to enjoy it because of my 9-5 job. DOH!
Yeah the parallels are real, buying a Camaro in '69 is kinda like buying a BRZ in '19. They cost about the same when adjusted for inflation, they were sold at entry level price points, and they were sold to the same demographic of males aged 21-35. Today's "throwaway cars" might be the collector cars of tomorrow.
just bought a 240 today🥶
Yuh now sell it to me 💀
Welcome to the party wooo!
Its whiplash to go from watching netgear make a low effort poop joke on stream to talking some series logic.
You know for the last 7 years when 240sx started surfacing and people started hyping them up on RUclips I'm very glad I strayed away from all that crap because now that I try to watch it I realize how cringe these guys really are and how unknowledgable these clout chasers can be and how much garbage they pull out of their bums
Netgear be speaking facts 💯💯💯💪

a video so nice, I watched it twice. I just hope your words reach the right ears and change someone's mind, somewhere.
Bro literally named after a wifi network.
Dude makes good Points “hood certified” fowshow!
Hey I was thinking about this before you guys posted haha
What's funny is that I see a lot of people hating on newer cars, or current cars and obsessing over these 90s cars that go up in value each day. And then these cars get so expensive they get priced out and decide to get something from the 2000s. Guess what, they went up in value too!
Where I'm going with this, is that people need to open their eyes and see what's out there. Throughout the years there have been great, enthusiast focused cars that are affordable, but everyone lives in the past, so they never get the praise they deserve until it's too late
Currently, we're living in the revival of fun affordable cars, and no one cares. But in 10 years everyone is gonna be mad they didn't get one new with 0 miles, instead of buying some clapped shit, or something with a ton of miles
EVERYTHING that isn't just a basic commuter car (and even those with low miles!) are collectible in the end. A 7g Celica GT-S will eventually go up in price, the MR2 Spyder will keep going up, even things like the Matrix XR-S and Corolla XR-S, all these 00s Toyotas are going to keep appreciating as the pool dries up. So if there's ANYTHING you like, regardless of 90s/00s/even 10s, get your hands on it and keep it clean.
@@CollectorCarFeed that's exactly what I'm doing with my civic si. It was deemed "one of the most based builds we've seen so far" by you guys lol

I don't get that video by thatdudeinblue, i've watched it and although he says it should not be a collector car he only says good things about the 240sx, which make it more so a collector car? I think he's smoking crack out a straw...
People eating up this big youtube shit may as well kiss there give away car money goodbye. Its like taxes you'll never see those dollars again.
my dad was looking at prices of a70's and aw11's and was so surprised when they were like 15-20K for a beat up example compared to his 5k for a low mileage example back in the early 2000's. They were widely available and the a70 was the most successful saleswise of all the supras which like you said in the video made it attainable blah blah. And then he's been wanting an LFA without following the market and I asked how much do you think 1 costs and he said 400k like it did back in 2014 and then I showed him an auction listing. He was so surprised that a car that was mocked back then would be selling for so much now.
