Welcome to our latest video where we are going to be looking at used car listings on Facebook Marketplace with five guys named Atlas, Feed, Netgear, Puchii, and Vukos. We are going to be focusing on Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4s and making jokes about the car's condition.
For those who are not familiar with the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4, it's a sports car that is known for its speed and rarity. This car has a cult following, and it's easy to see why. With its sleek design and powerful engine, it's a car that many car enthusiasts dream of owning.
As we start our search for Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4s on Facebook Marketplace, we can't help but notice how many of these cars are for sale. It seems like everyone who has owned this car wants to sell it. We wonder why that is?
The first listing we come across is for a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. The ad states that the car has 100,000 miles on it, and it's in great condition. However, the guys notice that the car has been repainted and that the paint job is not done well. One of the guys jokes, "I think the owner let his five-year-old nephew paint the car. That's why it looks like a preschool project." Another guy adds, "I think the owner wanted to save money on the paint job, so he decided to do it himself. Clearly, he should have left it to the professionals."
The second listing we come across is for a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. The ad states that the car has 80,000 miles on it, and it's in excellent condition. However, the guys notice that the car has a lot of rust on the body. One guy jokes, "I think the previous owner left this car outside in the rain for a year. That's why it has so much rust." Another guy adds, "I think the previous owner was trying to turn this car into a vintage vehicle. Unfortunately, he forgot that it's a sports car and not a classic car."
The third listing we come across is for a 1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. The ad states that the car has only 50,000 miles on it, and it's in excellent condition. However, the guys notice that the car has a lot of modifications, including a huge wing on the back. One guy jokes, "I think the owner was trying to turn this car into a plane. That's why it has such a big wing." Another guy adds, "I think the owner was trying to make up for something with that huge wing. Maybe he has a small ego."
The fourth listing we come across is for a 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. The ad states that the car has 120,000 miles on it, and it's in good condition. However, the guys notice that the car has a lot of dents and scratches. One guy jokes, "I think the previous owner used this car as a pinball machine. That's why it has so many dents." Another guy adds, "I think the previous owner was trying to replicate the Fast and Furious movie, but forgot that he's not a stunt driver."
The fifth and final listing we come across is for a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. The ad states that the car has 90,000 miles on it, and it's in excellent condition. However, the guys notice that the car has a lot of aftermarket parts, including a huge exhaust system. One guy jokes, "I think the owner was trying to make this car sound like a rocket ship. That's why he added such a huge exhaust system." Another guy adds, "I think the owner wanted everyone within a 5-mile radius to know that he's driving a sports car. That's why he added that obnoxiously loud exhaust system."
Overall, it's clear that the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 has a lot of character, and it's no surprise that it has a dedicated fan base. However, as we've seen in these listings, these cars can have their fair share of issues and modifications. It's important for anyone looking to buy a used Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 to do their research and carefully inspect the car before making a purchase.
As we wrap up this video, we hope you enjoyed our commentary and jokes about these Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4s. Let us know in the comments if you've ever owned or driven one of these iconic sports cars. And don't forget to like and subscribe to our channel for more videos like this one. Thanks for watching!

The number in VR4 goes up for every VR4 for sale that is issue free
My toxic trait is thinking owning one of these wouldn't be too painful
Same
I still walk by mine ….sitting there … looking cute…. And broke 😂
i literally did exactly that, and now i own one and it sucks and i'm trying to get rid of it 😭
@@LiveLaughLoveGangCEO hahahahaha. I’m just gonna rip out everything and turn it into what I want to. Turn the engine longitude etc
It's not
Finally a 3000GT video, the first car I ever purchased, the looks on it are great, as much as it is a pain in the ass to work on, I will still love them!
I've been looking into buying one recently so this is a perfectly timed video
@@j.a.g.8689 they’re fun cars, as long as you have the money to maintain them I’d say get one
Same
I own one . Honestly they're not that bad to own or let alone work on .... Especially if you got the right tools
9:13 LMFAOOO 😂 keep yourself safe 😂😅
At the Time of its release it was one of the most advanced Japanese sports cars of its time for a lot of reasons.
It was THE most advanced.
I've owned my 3000gt since 2012, automatic non turbo base model never has given me an issue. 196k and counting.
To be fair, 95% people who are attracted to these want manual, and most of them want a VR4 too. Thats where all the issues come from
@NeonAstral yup that's 100 percent true, but regardless of trim level with these cars they can go over 200k easy with proper service... Especially at 120k the tbelt and water pump.
I call bullshit.
i always just wanted the base model as a manual
I've noticed a few of these parked in driveways and just know something has broken and no one was brave enough to fix it.
Most people are just shitty mechanics my friend bought one some kid spent like $2k trying to fix that didn’t start and it was literally a loose fuse
@@bryanbusch6419 real, dodge stealth r/t owner here people are shitty mechanics I drive the shit out of my car and it never fails me.
There's a guy a couple streets from me and he's got an imported VR4 and a Stealth R/T Turbo sitting in his driveway. Both have been broken for years now. Not sure why he doesn't sell them, though one of them has a fender smashed in and the other only has three wheels, so I doubt they'd even go for much. I was thinking about buying them off of him but after getting a close up look at them myself, those thoughts went away pretty quick.
They dont call them jackstand queens for nothing lol
I’ve had a 94 sl and now a 95 Vr4 and the secret is to only buy them from boomers. That and don’t be completely oblivious to doing basic maintenance and it’s really not bad. The majority of mechanical bits are readily available and all the cosmetic stuff can be cheaply poached off of base model junkyard cars.
You’re gonna have to look hard for a good deal on a VR4 particularly later years but 91-93 stealth turbos in pretty mint stock shape are sub $10k all day long and boomers held on to them longer
A friend of mine had a stealth. Used to pass out with the windows up from the exhaust leaks 💀
For real, that shit is dangerous lol
LMAO
I have four of these cars, never once had a breakdown, and have only ever replaced a worn out clutch,...nothing has ever broke down, and I've had all these cars since 1997. And thier milage on all of them are over 150,000. And they all look better than, better shape, then every last car you guys showed where they were selling for 25gs. I've had a total of 6 3ks over the years, and built a race car out of one. That one was wrecked hitting a quarter mile wall at 165mph, thank God for cages. Yes, thier a pain to work on, but I'm ase certified guy, and former mitsutech, so it's not a problem. I'll eventually sell my cars, but my milage is what fucks me on the value.
The VR4 is reliable, they had bad owner's and incompetent mechanics. The same issue surrounded the RX-7.
It cost the same to own as a C-Class, or E-Class Mercedes. 50k-60k service every 5-6yrs cost $2000-$2300 in todays money. That's only $333-$450 per year. If you can't save $28-$38 per month don't buy it.
If these car's aren't reliable, just ask yourself why there a lot more still on the road as DAILY DRIVERS than the other Japanese cars from that era aside from the Miata, well into the 200k-300k mile range.
The unreliable cars from that era was the Supra IV, RX-7, SVX, and 300ZX. The Miata, Skyline, NSX, and S2000 were the most reliable with the 3000GT slotting in with the Skyline.
Most issues could be linked to a bad MECHANIC.
Next is the ECU due to capacitors. The chrome ECU was developed back in the early 2000s.
The aftermarket also sold solid tensioners that prevented full engine rebuild.
Spun bearings were common, but came from, you guessed it. Bad owner's who neglected there oil, or who thought the car was a race car.
The only true unreliable parts were the all wheel steer, active aero, and electronic suspension, all of which you don't need, are free to remove in a couple hours and didn't hamper the driving experience.
The electronic suspension would lock into sport mode, the active aero and aws would just lock into standard position. Aside from carrying unnecessary weight your car was fully operable.
I have a stealth rt turbo and trust me I love it the car is just as great as you’d expect, but when it breaks, it breaks. Shit gets expensive quick lol
( they’re faster than you’d expect for a boat, even by todays standards )
My evo x weighs more than my stealth.
18:14 that scared the shit out of me; damn.
Lmfao
So at 10:00 you guys can’t seriously tell me you really thought the power steering didn’t work. These cars have ALL WHEEL STEERING. I’m pretty sure they meant to say the AWS was deleted. Hence why they said you can hook it back up. Which, by the way, is a mod people do on these cars.
Almost bought a VR4 TWICE in my life, one actually quite recently. For some reason the havnt gone up as crazy in value as all the other shit.
We are all too scared to buy one
@@caddy-co Yeah, i mean, ive had my eyes on them since 2004, but as u say, it is a little scary. Its also kinda important to get the 6g72 that has the upgraded block (mainstuds) if ur ever wanting more than 400hp out of it and still want reliability.
They sold a ton of them compared to the competition, even combined 300zx rx7 supra and nsx sales don't surpass the 3kgt /stealth. Availability drives the price down
Just picked up a VR-4 pray for me guys!
You welcomed the vampire into your garage
You should keep up with it on RUclips. I'd definitely watch
@@CollectorCarFeed I'm a masochist so I'm the right type of owner .
@J.A.G. it's definitely a good idea I'll definitely put it into consideration
Congrats on 15k subs
We out here boi👽
I've had my gto now for 7 years. I get it serviced every year for the m.o.t. it's been a fantastic car to drive, and a great looking car. I've even had people knocking on my door asking if I be interested selling.
Got a 97 base, sucker weighs 3000lbs flat, unkillable motor, had it 3yrs. Very fun car, looks and sounds great. Running moda r6 5 spoke 18s on mine. Under rated cars for sure. Got a 2nd gen awd turbo eagle talon. Now that thing is a beast
I bought and rebuilt a 91 vr4 about a year and a half ago and its actually the most beautiful and fun car ive ever had the pleasure of driving
The maintenance on these is actually incredibly easy due to how accessible the coolant and oil drain plugs are, and the only difficult maintenance is the 120k with having to replace the water pump.
Also, the engine bay only looks scary, pretty much all of it is easy to remove hoses that can be put back on in 15 minutes.
I literally saw one of these today and the car could not start for 2 mins lmao
The only car from the 90s I want to own but won't let it ruin my bank account. Love the 99 vr4 one of the best looking cars ever made so shead of it's time
Imma rko the next person that calls the 3kgt heavy and unreliable when there’s the rx7 with the paper engine and the Supra with nearly identical weight.
nothing is funnier than seeing your friend’s imported GTT Skyline get gapped by a high schooler in a clapped out $4K 3000gt vr4 with a fuel pump louder than the radio, for the 2 weeks it runs until it goes lean and dies.
20 years of depreciation and poor OEM support means too many of these cars had the absolute worst owners. That being said, in reality, they’re no worse maintenance wise than any of the other halo cars of the era.
They always forget the gto beat skyline back in the day
GTO’s/VR4’s have always been the secret GTR/Supra killers(If they’re working)
vr4 go brrrr
Had a 97 SL about 15 years ago. Loved that fucking money pit. Can not imagine the outright horror of trying to drive one nowadays. They were a notorious platform back then
If your going to own one of these, learn to work on them, when you get this car to perform as it should, it's one of the best 90s car ever, this car will perform with the best of them, there not that hard to work on, just need patience, parts are not that hard to find , I've owned two of them, currently restoring my 92 VR4 , Best car I've ever owned 👍 VR4LIFE 😎 VR4EVER 😍
I agree. These idiots should do a little research before making a video. Keyboard warriors'
9:05 LMFAO HELL YEAH ATLAS! Keep yourself safe!!😂😂😂
the guy with the deep voice sounds like drew from rugrats and its all that i can picture when ever he speaks
3000GT- The only car to make RX-7 owners-openly masochist individuals-wince in fear at the pain that a car like this would bring them.
My memory of the 3000GT will always be when one tried to get me to street race against it. Mind you, I was driving a bone stock S10 Blazer with a 4.3 on 18" chrome wheels back in 2003. It would not have been an accomplishment to beat me, lol
Just for reference a base 2003 Lincoln Town Car has a curb weight of 4015. That is 108 pounds lighter than the convertible 3000GT
I like near that one in Tully NY and remember seeing it on marketplace lol
I had a baby seat in a 93 mustang convertible, if I can do it this guy can in that black VR-4.
Honestly as long as u dotn have the vr4 and do the right tuning and turbo conversion, the vehicle is reliable
I’m 17, owned a 92 vr4 for almost year and a half now. U can’t hack it, fine, go buy an Mx-5, let the big boys play with the fun cars :)
literally boutta go look at a first gen front wheel drive 5 speed one tomorrow. the fun part is that i cant drive a manual.
My cousin had a vr4 and the rear steering had a mind of its own lol
I still want one. I hate myself.
Skipping my statics homework to be here
The odds of blowing up a vr4 are statistically not negligible
love this car in Midnight Club LA
Steering delete was probably the rear wheel steering?
I owned a base model 3000gt and I wanted to replace the headlights because the paint was fading under them and it cost me like stupid crazy to find one the same color is good condition (I parted out the car 3 months later)
Do a honda fit episode! also can you guys add the 80s-90s toyota pickup/truck mini trucks to the website? You got 4runners and tacomas but don't show listings for the og pickups.
The parts alone on that car can make u soo much money.. Im talking about the red one that u showed last in the video... In parts that car will get u prob around 10k
I bought a 5 speed SL to use a daily driver. Not too bad for 160k miles so far
How are vr-4's double and even triple the price than they are here in Indiana. I could buy 4 vr-4s for one of the mid ones on here for like 35k
my dad used to have one in like 2012 it sounded cool but the ac broke so he sold it pretty quick xD
One of my friends back in highschool owned one of these and the engine was welded to the frame….
This car is fun to drive with the active aero , but to work on these things is such a pain . I would never get one after working on it
should've had namek in the video he loves 3ks
I have a Nissan Skyline GTR, a mazda RX7, and a WRX STi and this car performs just as well if not better than the competition. The maintenance is not as difficult either. Obviously a car with over 20 years will need some part replacement but if you compare it to others is not as bad.
What a flex
I have a first gen (93) 3000gt base model with a dohc 6g72 and not the sohc the base model comes with previous owner doing weird shit ig?, currently working on it probably need 2k before its back on the road again, I have more concerns when the dmv rips me a new one for me being 22 and I'll be the 8th owner, I feel bad for it but no one wants to take care of it besides me, it ran until we heard knocks and the bearings inside were worn and scuffed.
god i shat myself on that outro lol
Mine is near mint. With 36k miles. I say Angel. But I get it
im about to buy an rx7 can you do one of these for rx7 fcs or fds
I live in Montana, vr4 s are worth less here I guess, I’ve seen them go for 10 or 15k average on Facebook, saw one once sell for 6k OBO with no issues😯 gone in a day…..
this is why I'm glad I got the base model, it weighs 3,200 lbs, and nothing is going to break on it ☠
What does weight matter when you don't do anything competitive with it? 😂
@@JulianVR4 like speed on the interstate? It's a car not a lifestyle, I wanted it, so I saved up and bought it
@coolawesomeepicman4513 yes. Exactly. Why use the weight as a highlight if you're going to use the car as an appliance
@@JulianVR4 because it’s a quick little son of a bitch! It’s fun! Suspension is a little more sporty than I like but it cruises interstates at 100 like a jet airliner

You spelled angel wrong in the title.
good thing I spelled devil right
Netgear for president 2024
Can you do 3rd gen iroc z camaros
The dodge stealth is the reason I will never consider wanting a 3000gt
Oh no, a rebadge of a car designed and built in Japan exists. Now how would you be able to prove how JDM AF it is?
me owning one and constantly fixing it
Funny how the 3000gt/GTO took the active aero idea from a Volkswagen Corrado
Need a video on B5 S4s trust me you won’t regret it. Also an ex owner of one
I have a B5 S4 and A4 1.8T, my dad has one too. We love them but they’re hard to find parts for
@@idontgotagun9867 I currently daily a 98 2.8Q 5spd. Just getting my credit straight to get a B8/8.5 S4 manual.
Fun car, especially manual turbo variants.
Would never want to work on one though + Mitsubishi unreliability.
lmao its funny me and my dad went to see the first one (west des moines i live on the east side) and on the way there bro said it broke down so very funny about them being hella unreliable
Problem with the 3000gt/Stealth is if you want flip up headlights you get those ugly, afterthought blisters on the hood. If you don't want the blisters, you can't get pop ups. Lose lose.
My favorite comments on this video are all the dudes coping that their 4000lb 3000gt GAPPED and DESTROYED NSXs on the track back in the day and was more reliable than the RX7 and faster than the Supra on the strip, bro. It's ACTUALLY the best of the 90s JDM hero cars and definitely NOT just the one I could afford, no I don’t have any footage of it winning track battles against the mid engine Ferrari killer with half the weight and don’t ask!!!
Why does the second one in this vid have a FREAKING FTO spoiler on it? I know the FTO is supposed to be the younger version of the GTO/3000GT but the FTO wing just looks wrong on a GTO.
That's OEM I think, I forget what it's called but it was something silly like "Aero Attack" wing.
2:42 - I like “THE LOOK” of “THIS CAR” but instead of “ A FLAT” rear wing it needs “A PHAT” rear wing
like “THE ONE” on the “MITSUBISHI FTO RACE CAR” on GT-1…….
3:55 - The “PHAT WING” on “THIS CAR” just “WORKS”……
4:47 - Only 297 were produced; worldwide???
I always through these were “COMMON”???
THE MORE YOU KNOW; INDEED!!!!
8:40 Wow, a bootleg Cars character in real life.
have any one of you ever worked on a 300zx? you really going to question this cars reliability against a rx7? at this point you guys are just jerking each other off
Own1 since'99.This are money pit-project machines but most advanced in 90's.Not recommended for Cheap unpatient Guys don't know nothing about turbo's.
Can definitely tell these guys have zero clue about this car. The 300zx pales in comparison. The fd also. The Supra is the only real competitor to this car.
i long to own a 1993 3000GT VR4 in purple on 5zigen 5zr copse slammed on bags
What is going on with these prices? In here in the uk you can get a shitty one for £1500 or a decent one for less than £5000
I have a B5 S4 so i’d be chilling with this car, still gonna wanna kms if i get a 99
You forgot to mention the vr4 gapped both the supra and the nsx on the track in the 90s. But yea you guys sound like you know what your talking about 😂.
dawg look at the front rotor @ 16:54 lmao
yoooo its the no maintenance VR4 right there. Just dont do the maintenance. lol
“It starts and runs but I 'recommend' towing it”.... bit of a stretch for a recommendation, more like it's a requirement.
oh its not slow actual over 300HP+ and they do 0-60 in about 5ish
These things look so fire, too bad they were a basket case from the factory.
Asking for NB miata video #9
These prices are worst than a crack head attempting to pick your mom on a date and take her behind your local red lobster alley for dinner! You can LITERATELY buy a vr4 for under 10k straight from japan. They have far less miles than the vr4 here in America as well. Leave it to Americans to price scalp the hell out of these cars. Glad I got my own GTO imported recently. Wanna buy it? $80K ( I KNOW WHAT I HAVE)🤣. For context: I paid $13,029 that included shipping, documentations, port fees, U.S. vin registration, title, tags & delivery for my 94 GTO AWD TT hosting working active Aero and full OEM interior with 69,000 KM on the car (42,875 miles). There is 1997 GTO going for $5,000 on sale right now on (Beforward) and cost a total of $7k to import. Caveat; NA AWD and has small oil leak with 203,000 km (126,000 miles). Both are EASY FIXES since it is the exact same motor and drivetrain in the VR4 less the turbos.
So glad I didn't buy a vr4 model
(I have a base)
Its a super car that has super car problems. Just because its rather affordable dont get fooled. This car cost to maintain....period!
bro the spyder weighs as much as a town car wtf
Never compare the 300z and mr2 to a 3000gt vr4. That yells me you know shit about cars in general...let alone the 3000 gt vr4. Those cars are toys in comparison.
I daily mine
I wouldnt mind owning a v6 dohc non-turbo and stripp it down to under 3000 lbs for shit n giggles.
You mean angel?
They are literally going through all the cars I own in a row 😂🕵️♂️
That’s why I’m turning mine into something Mitsubishi coulda done
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Look I’m all for laying it all out in the for sale as but man maybe try a bulleted list next time instead of word vomiting like ur Chat GPT
Would trade for a Kebab
287 made in 99
There cheaper than 300zx’s in my country
These do not deserve the reputation they have.. they are pretty damn reliable.
Way more reliable than the supra/gtr/rx7/etc
More reliable than the 2jz? 😂
@@Wolfen_Argent Yes.
@@Wolfen_Argent more reliable doesn't mean it can handle more power on stock block/internals.
The car was made in the 1992. Your still talking about it. Not many other cars get this much attention.Sounds really like you didn’t have the money at the time to buy this car when new. But then I realized you were not born yet so why don’t you speak with your dads about it. Your excused….
You had one job to spell angel right in the title of a youtube video cross check spelling then upload. You failed to do this. I believe I first learned how to spell angel when I was 7 yrs old. Just saying. The devil doesn't play with any kind of angles.
