The action is is apparently reffered to as "parallel pivot" by the US patent office. Patents for such a system date back to 1852 but it was seemingly never actually implemented back in the day

OMG!! This is the first one I have seen since I bought one in the early 90's at a pawn shop for 20 bucks.
Later versions came in a 22LR/410 break-down models. They were great simplistic guns and excellent for young inexperienced shooters.
