    Fantastic. Well done. Been there many times. Egypt is beautiful beyond belief. Too bad the first portion from Suez City to the Bitter Lakes was low visibility with all that fog, but the accompanying GPS map and footage was terrific.

    10 hours = 600 minutes. Means we see the video 150 times faster than real time. 23 knots = 3450 knots in the vid = 6389.4 km/h = 5.35 mach.
    Interesting to think that's this is the speed you seem to travel in this video. :) liked it a lot.

    • @theseawolfchannel

      162 KM IN 4 MIN = 2430 KM/H
      AVERAGE SPEED IN THE CANAL IS ABOUT 9 KNOTS

    Do the ships have guides onboard who are entering the ship @Suez and guide you through the canal or do you guide all alone through it?

  • @lynnebarkas6906
    @lynnebarkas6906 3 года назад

    Where the canal only looks wide enough for 1 way traffic, how is that controlled?

    • @theseawolfchannel
      @theseawolfchannel  3 года назад +1

      Since the canal does not cater to unregulated two-way traffic, all ships transit in convoys on regular times, scheduled on a 24-hour basis. Each day, a single northbound convoy starts at 04:00 (approximately) from Suez. At dual lane sections, the convoy uses the eastern route. Synchronised with this convoy's passage is the southbound convoy. It starts at 03:30 from Port Said and so passes the Northbound convoy in the two-lane section.

  • @slimmerish
    @slimmerish 5 лет назад

    Instead of music there should be " talking" to explain how the passage is done, pilot,captain, tugs etc.

    • @theseawolfchannel
      @theseawolfchannel  5 лет назад +2

      There is a pilot on board, under the master's authority, that set course and speed. No tugs in assistance, just a mooring boat hired to assist the ship to moor in case of need or emergency. We lift it on board with a ship crane.
      A canal projector is compulsory during transit. It's placed on the axis of the bow, able to illuminate at least 1800m. A shore electrician will board to operate the projector.
      P.s. informations about music is necessary for copyright reason!
