Respect goes out to these riders, if l attempted that l would get major speed wobbles, mind you l am 52 and still riding, incidentally, we would have killed for such great boards in the 1970's, l have a few boards but the Penny is my go to board
The penny board is a knock off of a skateboard from the 70s.It was called the pro line. Same shape almost. Waffle deck. Mine came with wheels call road riders. The trucks were ACS 500s. Penny boards are awesome. I just ordered my third one. The 27 inch flame.
I’m 56 years old. Back in the middle 70s in South Florida we used to hang on to the back of old ladies Cadillacs just like the video. They drove slow and there was a stop sign every block. They never even knew we were there. Great times. I still skate.

To anyone wanting to attempt anything like this, I don't recommend attempting it unless you have experience, I recently broke my thumb and messed up my hip from rolling off a Penny board at 30-35 mph.
They are way slower than 30 mph

My record was 45 km h aprox in a little 22 penny, i was really close to fall very badly. The wobble was insane i just put All the weight in the front leg and trust hoping no fall if the hill was continue a bit definitely I was fall for sure
Easy to do this it's all about skill my friend but a very steep downhill is always risky!!! 👍💯😁🛹

I put 89mm wheels on mine and bomb hills. With ceramic bones, hit 50mph. Ill never be that scared again.

I love how the skateboarding community, which is always portrayed in the media as being rude and not giving a fuck about the rules, will still shame people on a constant basis for not using proper protection on downhill vids.

everytime i go down something fast, i usually use my palm. but i wouldn’t know about this because i haven’t went down a road like this

Today’s skaters will definitely find this hard to believe, but the very first skateboards had wheels made of steel. Others were even made of clay.

that's the original cruising style inspired in surf moves. this skateboard was a surfers skate before skating got a life of it's own

Tighten your trucks.
It's because they aren't bombing the hill they are carving down it.
A tip to not speed wobble is too keep your board turning by not going in a straight line just keep your board curving left and right. Learned from personal experience
If you dont wanna tighten your trucks just keep your ancles stiff , it works for me

How do you stop going down a hill. As a beginner I normally bail going down a steep hill
Shaq Khan youtube some videos on how to powerslide. If you can nail it and keep your balance long enough (or even doing a few consecutive power slides), it's a good way to stop pretty quickly when you're flying downhill without thinning out your shoes.
Steven Nelms yeah but that destroys your wheels, especially with the durometer of the wheels on a penny. I love going downhill on mine and i find the best way to stop is to lean ima LITTLE back, and drag my entire foot. Also i ride a globe bantam st. Is this considered herecy amongst penny boarders?
I went downhill on my penny board but I started to wobble once I saw a car coming so I fell of. What's the best way to control how fast your going downhill because the aftermath resulted in damaging myself badly
You either ride into an area with a leveled field, use your feet (which will destroy your shoes), powerslide (which will destroy your wheels) or jump off.
I don't recommend jumping off in downhill though. Unless you can actually run as fast as you were riding, in which case go ahead.
And ALWAYS USE PROTECTION. I know 30km/h sounds slow on paper, but you try running head first into a wall at that speed and tell me if it doesn't break a bone.
@@sheldonzz1 I recommend doing a couple of consecutive power slides to maintain a comfortable speed. Tbh though if you're going downhill, know the road. Don't go downhill where there's traffic or a lot of people, especially if you are a beginner. Just because there's a hill with a smooth surface, doesn't mean it's suited for penny boarding. Resist the temptation and limit yourself to safe areas. Focus on power sliding. Yeah, it wears down your wheels, but would you rather not be able to control your speed? It's an essential part of penny boarding and you can always replace the wheels.
