The speed and variety of all these Chinese products coming out is simply ridiculous. I can see the potential of customizing your own modular tools if they started selling seperate frames, tool components like t-shanks and bit holders in the market. Maybe u should propose to them.
I can cut small 17 gauge tie wire with my Leatherman Arc. Its very impressive that a multitool can cut a metal coat hanger though. One thing I'm not happy with about the Leatherman Arc is it doesn't pull hair well and the Rev with the boxier plier head can very well. I think $39 sale price for the Leatherman Rev is a nice value. Is the price for the Arc justifiable at $250 with tax? I like the tool set and the fact its stamped "USA". Like you were saying the starting price for a dedicated magna cut knife is $130. I'm with you, in that the multitool is a bit more bang for the buck. Its my first big purchase of a multitool over $100. Its a nice tool but I don't think it can replace the Wave anytime soon. I don't regret buying it though, its come in handy like all my other Leatherman Tools. I think Daicamping is catching up a little though.
the biggest thing id like to mod about this tool is replacing the Philips with a bit holder (cant figure out how to get that darn pivot out safely), probably only the leatherman one will fit in that thin space, although you can fit the leatherman adapters in where the pliers pivots are, kindof wedge it in the slot in the knife handle side is strange too.
It reminds me of my roxon phantom. Except it doesn't have the replaceable blade system or the little lever to get the small tools as you mentioned. It's a shame because it's probably one of the best features of any multitool at all let alone a Chinese brand. We're slowing seeing china take more of the market. Roxon, nextool, diacamping and swisstech are slowly getting more and more brand recognition and they deserve it. They've making some really innovative and unique tools unlike anything on offer from the big multitool brands. And things like 1/4" bit drivers is an obvious benefit compared to to leathermans unique bits. Everyone has 1/4" bits around the house. Only leatherman nuts have their bits everywhere
Mine is called splitman and is more expensive than yours. I wish I could have gotten it for 25. My only gripes are the lack of spring for the pliers and the fact they could have put more tools on the knife handle
This is part of the "clones" I own. I'm wondering if the black knight can considered clone. I do have other MTs with the 1/3 - 2/3 handle configuration with big scissors, pliers with interesting features on each.
@@hvacbudget8600 yeah chinese multitools. I think it's either ghk or nextool. The first splitman was the first big scissors/pliers combo I believe. And it was that way to accomodate the two big tools. However I think roxon made the layout show the best potential with the storm The storm using both inside and outside mini tools on that handle. There is other innovations but I think there is interesting développements to get regarding various arrangements, ways to lock tools, deploy them. Having tools oriented for professionals of various job types. I do think manufacturers should go towards that so people will find the tools of their need.
The DL5 is like comparing the Rev to the Leatherman Surge I think. Both the Rev and the DL5 are ok, good beater multi tools but the DL30 I think will soon go up to the $75 to $90 price point because it is pretty good!! I think the DL5 is priced about right where it is, but the DL30 is a steal of a deal!
@@hvacbudget8600 Oh wow thanks for the quick input! I was looking for a multitool to stick in my drawer so that I don't have to get my toolbox out every time for something quick. Your reviews are a great help!

That's an interesting point!!
Agreed. I would love to see a fully modular system.
Thank you for this review! I always enjoy watching your reviews and learning from your inputs. :-)

Those scissors are excellent 👍

Very good points!
Looks like a collaboration between roxon and nextool

How much weight of this tool in gram and Does it has a main knife lock ?
Can main knife stab or something ? Thank you sir.
268g It does have a locking main blade.
Reminds me a lot of Roxon.
Thank you

I'm not sure which company started this trend of 1/3 2/3 handles but it seems a popular design at least for overseas companies to make.

Sir, is Daicamping DL7 a clone of Leatherman Charge?
Yes. I have one onnthe way. It looks great!
How would you compare this to the DL30?

Whitch is better, dl5 or dl1?
I personally prefer the DL1.
@@hvacbudget8600 are them the same size?
Are dl1 and dl5 the same size?
The replaceable wire cutter plier style is the only downside of this model.
Why do you find it a downside?
Get it now before this admin starts WW3!
just ordered one from ali and it looks like it shipped I thinking have all their tools now
This looks awesome
