Not so much, at least on the small sizes. I have a mousepad with same materials, bought it on Aliexpress. Its a 700x300 one, cost $4.84 on sale with free shipping. Normal price is $6.84.
But I would buy the largest one from LTT, no question.

@@smoopsirl Mousepads are cheap lol. the quality is likely to be the same as well. Its not hard for chinese to mass produce the exact same thing with same feel that costs less. I also use a cheap mousepad from aliexpress that is quite good
@@smoopsirl Don't kid yourself that they invented some new design. They use a preexisting model with their own image printed on it. Yes, my mausepad is the same material as seen on this video, same thickness, same soft border that gets caught by velcro. Design-wise, of course not, it's not that image.

I tried to reduce the pain of importing these to Europe by ordering multiple items so at least shipping gets divided. I'm not sure if I caused myself less pain or more pain.
International shipping is always hella expensive. I bought something on AliExpress some years ago, and the shipping was like 4x the cost of the item.

Find a friend in US or Canada and ask them to ship. It's always cheap that way. The reason why it's costly is due to hidden cuts to be given for PayPal and other intermediaries. I think it's 30-40% cut.

The only problem I have with them is that some sizes can only be bought through their site. It would be fine if they, you know, delivered shit to my country. So they kinda have all sizes, but I can only get those that are available in retail.

Seriously...TekMat sells pads/mats very much like these, and have a "door mat" size (25x42 inches, or 63.5x106.68 cm), that is $39.99. Thankfully, the shop I bought mine at had no idea they were supposed to be that price (or didn't care), and I got a few for $20 each. They're a liiiiittle too large as a desk mat, so I'll definitely be buying an LTT mat or two.

Took a year and waiting for stock updates; but I just put a 1500x600 and a 600x400 (sideways) on my desk to make it a big 1900x600 pad. The edges between the two is in unused space to the right of where I mouse. So far (a few hours in) - They're awesome. I didn't want to go full depth of my desk due to monitor arms, built in power outlets, but the 600 works a treat :)

The LTT deskpads are not the same thing as a GN Modmat. The modmat has a lot more to its construction and features than just being a glorified deskpad, hence the pricing and style.
This isn't a mod-mat, but GN has a large mousepad which this is competing with.
Maybe Kyle from Bitwit will join in on that since he's just released desk mats as well

For people in Europe: initially, the ratio of taxes/shipment cost may be daunting but because the prices are rather low and especially because of the conversion to euro, these are actually still a GREAT bang-for-buck! Just ordered 900x400 for 38EUR. For this kind of quality and taking into account that it is shipped from overseas, that is definitely the best that you'll get.

Yea I switched from a hard plastic gamer pad to 900mm wide and haven't gone back since, its nice to have a perfectly even and adjustable surface that even dampens your keyboard.
This is the kind of thing you buy two of, because of spills and dry time ;)
I would love to get this but the with the customs and duty fees this would just end up being double the price (calculated from a previously made purchase).

I did purchase orders on similar mouse pads for my college and the difference in price between the 250x200 and the 400x350 was very small. Maybe around 10%

Gonna be getting a 900x300mm one! I had a Robert Space Industries desk mat for SO long, until the rubber disintegrated. I haven't been able to find a desk mat the right size, softness, and is pretty enough until this one

Those are really good looking pads. The only minor suggestion is to see if you could do some research and see how many lefties there are out there.
If there were some equally good looking designs that had a purposefully 'blank/black' mousing portion that catered to the lefties there might be a decent market for they are truly underserved in a lot of affordable tech areas.
$100 for one that suffered from an authentic Linus drop
