This was their first single. Liam is usually quite static but often has a tambourine. They were fantastic live. Noel Gallagher (Liam's brother and lead guitarist) is the main songwriter and also sometimes sings.

Was great to see his development as a frontman throughout the 90’s and into the 2000’s! Liam was his best as a frontman and performer during the Be Here Now tour in 97/98 for sure!

You’ve nailed it in describing Liam Gallagher as a frontman. Stands their with his hands behind his back, not touching the mic & just staring people out in the crowd. He is so rock n roll with lots of attitude and personality and humour! Such a unique voice too, Liam between 1994 and 2000 was untouchable!

@@bfcclarets4694 Not if you lived it, I was 20 in 1990, lived the great times. Oasis came 6 years later with retro songs, Karaoke band. That is what proper Mancs think.

The stage presence is all about attitude. Play the songs and get off stage. Going to an Oasis concert was like being hit by a wall of noise and Liam’s voice was immense.

Oasis were from the UK. Formed in the early 90's, they 'modernized' what the Beatles did in the 60's and became the biggest British band in the 90's decade. This was the original band in 1994 (?) - brothers Liam Gallagher (lead vocals), Noel Gallagher (guitar & vocals), w/ 'Bonehead' Arthurs (rhythm guitar), 'Guigsy' McGuigan (bass) and Tony McCarroll (drums)... Alan White (drums) joined the band from 1995 to 2004.
They considered themselves "Rock n' roll" ... very basic sound like bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots... had in the 'grunge/ alternative' rock 90's era. Unlike most bands, they preferred to stand still... Liam Gallagher had that iconic stance on the mic that made Oasis instantly recognizable on stage. He said it made more sense for him to stay calm and watch the chaos as fans went crazy at their shows.
With Noel writing the songs and Liam singing, Oasis took off in 1994 w/ this album 'Definitely maybe'... it became the biggest-selling UK debut album since The Beatles in 1963. The 2nd album "(What's the story) Morning glory" in 1995 sold even better... scoring massive hits like 'Wonderwall'... 'Champagne supernova'... and 'Some might say'... Oasis ended their 1996 tour playing 2 shows at Knebworth, England to 250K fans total. Oasis was literally called "the second coming of the Beatles".
Unfortunately, Oasis had a reputation of drugs, alcohol and infighting... the brothers Liam and Noel were always at odds. The 3rd album 'Be here now' was another huge hit, but the songs were long and drawn out, so it sold less despite hits like 'Stand by me'... "D'you know what I mean?"... In 1999, both Arthurs and McGuigan quit Oasis.
In 2000, Oasis regrouped w/ the album 'Standing on the shoulder of giants' and resumed touring w/ new members Gem Archer (guitar) and Andy Bell (bass)... but after the 90's, their popularity began to wane. Oasis still had success w/ newer albums - 'Heathen chemistry' (2002) and "Don't believe the truth" (2005) w/ hits like 'Layla'... 'The Hindu times'... 'Songbird'.
Oasis were still popular when they released their final album in 2008 - "Dig out your soul"... However, the infighting between Liam & Noel got worse on tour and the band broke up in 2009 before a gig in France.
Noel Gallagher went solo first as Noel Gallagher & the High Flying Birds... Liam and the others in Oasis formed Beady Eye, but they lasted 2 albums before breaking up in 2014.
Liam Gallagher went solo in 2017, and his album 'As you were' became a huge hit in the UK... he's currently touring on his 3rd solo album "C'mon you know" in 2022... He plays Oasis songs live in concert and still draws huge crowds on tour. In 2022, he returned to play 2 Knebworth shows (where Oasis triumphed in 1996) to over 170K fans. His solo hits include - 'Wall of glass'... 'Once'... "Everything's electric"... 'Better days'... 'One of us'.
